Now, the unique venue will once again open its doors to serve classic local fare like Turtle Soup, Louisiana Blue Crab Cakes and BBQ Shrimp using the freshest, locally-sourced seafood and produce. While many restaurants tout “fresh and local”, Sbisa means it, as the Napoli family owns their own seafood dock and distribution business in Hopedale, Louisiana.
Excellent, historic establishment is back and on top. There was a live Jazz Trio, and they played a respectable volume so you could carry on conversations without having to shout. We all had different appetizers, entrees, and desserts, and all were completely satisfied.
Food always good and people are friendly
Great brunch for those who love jazz and a lovely historic venue. Great Creole Benedict and Crawfish Etouffee Omelette.
Cafe' Sbisa was great experiences and it is black owned!!!
We had an amazing experience, truly unforgettable thanks to the staff who were very courteous and friendly. They made our anniversary really special. Thank you!
Veal and crab was over salted . Beautiful ambiance . Support local and black owned businesses.
Amazing food! Amazing, friendly service. Plus black owned. We went for brunch on Sunday and got the $15 bottomless mimosas. Overall great experience.
Food was delicious, Jazz was enjoyable, and service was excellent!!
Kevin was the best server
Cafe Sbisa was okay. It had a nice atmosphere with a live jazz band and cool stage lighting from above. The service was exceptional, everyone there was very nice & helpful. The food was not great. I had the corn & crab bisque which was watery and dark in color. I took two bites and didn't eat the rest. For entree, I had the Trout & my fiance had the Steak Frittes. The trout was alright. Not the best or the worst. The steak fritte was just steak on top of french fries doused in worcestershire sauce (which my fiance thought was great btw but not at a nice restaurant). Overall, service & atmosphere were good but the food was meh.
Perfect ambience with music and classic New Orleans food. Perfect.
Coming from Chicago & CA, we know good restaurants/food/bars/drinks. Cafe Sbisa is excellent in all categories including service. Anjelique, our server was outstanding. The Trout, Veal & Crab, Blue Crab Cakes, Tomato Mazzarella salad and Steak Frites were superb and so were the drinks.
Wonderful Sunday Jazz brunch!
It is a beautiful resturant but the food isn't worth the cost. The food isn't bad-it is simply over-priced for what you are getting.
The food was amazing! The ambience was great! Definitely will be returning.
My husband and I were very happy with our anniversary dinner at Sbisa. The food was wonderful, the service was impeccable, and the music was delightful. We were seated upstairs, where we could people watch, converse easily, and yet also enjoy the jazz group. Just perfect!
What a fantastic restaurant for a date night dinner in the French Quarter. We were visiting from out of town and the food was just spectacular! We also had a table on the balcony and it over looks the street with a view of downtown in the distance. Staff were extremely polite and helpful, and cannot wait to go back!
My wife and I were vacationing in New Orleans and chose Sbisa based on the great reviews it had on Yelp. Our experience there was outstanding. The food was great and the waitress took the time to explain the various items on the menu including the specials. For one of the items that my wife wanted to try out she actually went to the kitchen and brought a small sample that my wife could try out before deciding. The dishes we eventually ordered were cooked to perfection and among the best we had. Great ambiance as well. Would highly recommend this restaurant.
Excellent Excellent Service
We chose this restaurant based on high ratings but unfortunately it was not very good. The gumbo was okay. The filet was just okay, not overly tender and on the salty side. The biggest disappointment was the BBQ Shrimp. The shrimp were way overcooked, chewy and very difficult to peel. The sauce also lacked balance. The band was quite good.
Great place to celebrate a special occasion. Girlfriend and I really enjoyed celebrating her birthday here. The Jazz Band was awesome, and the food was delicious. 10/10 Recommend the Trout Eugene.
This is REAL NOLA! This is the third oldest restaurant in the city and they are one of our favorites! Great staff, wonderful jazz, and the food is out of the world...definitely try the Courtboullion...amazing!
I was very pleased with the food, service pricing. I had a request that my cocktail was a little off and the waitress immediately took it to the bar for minor adjustment and it came back SUPERB. Music was too loud for us but we were only two people. Gumbo was, in my opinion, a blue ribbon winner. I shall return.
This was my first trip to New Orleans and Cafe Sbisa did not disappoint. I wanted to try some classic local dishes, so I had the court-bullion. It was the best dish I’ve had in years. My wife had the duck and it was also very good. It was relatively quiet for a Friday night, but after a full day in Bourbon Street, we didn’t mind. Highly recommend.
Date night in New Orleans did not disappoint with dinner here. Great for live jazz, dinner and brunch. From the time we walked in until the time we left we felt right at home. The Sbisa Oyster appetizer was amazing!! The flavors exploded in our mouths. On to the turtle soup which I had never tried before and for a first time turtle soup experience I loved every bite. I tried the Trout Eugene and my husband had the Courtbuollion which was a bowl of seafood goodness. Our server was amazing, attentive and knowledgeable giving perfect recommendations on the menu. I loved the synchronized serving of everything from the appetizers to entrees and desserts. We enjoyed it so much that we came back two days later for family brunch! The live jazz on both occasions made it all a experience we will cherish and we can’t wait to come back.
The food and service was absolutely amazing! Waitstaff was incredibly attentive and made great suggestions for dinner: get the crab cakes if you go!
Best food I consumed on my last day in New Orleans after a 10 day vacation. Everything was extraordinary!!
Amazing food and service. Band was excellent during Sunday Jazz Brunch. Highly recommend!!
Best meal I have ever had in NOLA. It is our 4th day in NOLA and everything we tasted so far were too salty or too over-seasoning. But cafe sbisa’s food are perfect for us (we are from China, so would highly recommend to people with Asian stomachs like us).
The food was sooooooooo good and the lemon drop martini was the best one I ever had in my life
Amazing food and awesome service. I would recommend to anyone visiting New Orleans.
Had the oysters and they were incredible as well as the seafood stew. I recommend this place highly
This was a wonderful way to enjoy Father's Day. Live music and attention to detail in service!
Fantastic from start to finish.
This was our first day in NOLA. It was the exact experience we were looking for. The music was was at an enjoyable level. The ambiance was friendly and classy. The turtle soup was the best out of all of the restaurants we tried in the city. The seafood was delicious and the portions were generous. We will be back when we visit again
We had a wonderful anniversary dinner with a desert on the house. I loved every course we have. The aperitif, salad, and court bouillon were amazing. Best food I had in a while.
We had an amazing experience. Our server Remy was absolutely perfect. We had as much fun because if him as we did with our superb Bees Knees cocktails!!
Me and my wife had a wonderful experience and the food was amazing. Definitely would come back when we get back in NOLA.
The people were amazing, the trout Eugene was even better! I’d definitely come back!
Cafe Sbisa was outstanding. The food and service were exceptional. We felt very special throughout our dining experience...there was a definite personal touch. It is very quiet and has an ambience consisting of New Orleans’ traditional attention to detail. When you dine at Cafe Sbisa, it is like going back in time where service is practiced to perfection.
