This is a small but excellent French bistro with African influences, a unique restaurant for Boston. The ambience, with all the plants and music, is superb. The quite original location for a fine cuisine, at Mass Av and Beacon St, is also perfect. At dinnertime, the place is very busy and noisy, and although it is clearly mostly frequented by younger patrons in their 20s and 30s, our party of seniors had a great time too (me with earplugs). The food was expertly prepared; my only objection is that the roast chicken was somewhat too salty for my personal taste, which somewhat impinged on the more interesting taste of the African spices - but otherwise the chicken was really well prepared, and I overall enjoyed it (evidenced by only the bare bone left on the plate). Watermelon gazpacho soup was fantastic, as was the light creme brulee with fresh berries, and the mocktail with bissap. The service was very attentive despite the restaurant being completely full. I look forward to eating here again.

I had been wanting to try Café Sauvage for a while, and finally went for our anniversary on July 4th. Sadly, the service was a letdown. My drink (berry limonate) was undrinkable even after it was remade. Our server messed up the order, and my partner waited over an hour for his food while I ate alone. We ordered dessert and waited 30 minutes for spoons. They gave us complimentary plantains to make up for it, but the experience didn’t feel special. Even paying the bill was another hustle. The food was good, but the service was chaotic and inattentive. Sadly, I am not sure we will be returning.

This is a great hidden nook on Mass Ave. From the outside, it looks like a diner type restaurant but once inside, the ambiance is soft and relaxing. Light music playing in the background but not overwhelming to where you can't have a conversation. The food was amazingly delicious and the drinks will quench your thirst! Definitely going back! Might be one of my new fav spots to go!

Food was okay but not worth the price. Most of the dishes lacked flavour and prioritised presentation over taste. French onion soup was good though. The chef's special of the night was halibut and risotto, the rice was undercooked and the fish overcooked. The drinks were good. Overall the food was not great and definitely overpriced for what you get. Service was good though and there was a lively atmosphere (maybe a little too loud). Nice spot, just not great value unfortunately!

The food had no taste. It was presented well but just no flavor. We had brunch items and the eggs had zero taste the a Ava ado toast was pleasant with the feta cheese and beat spread but everything else was bland.
