   Our starters were served with mouldy lettuce Mains were cold when served but were tasty Potato gratin was burnt to cinders and a replacement was brought once we had finished eating It took 45 minutes for our drinks to be served Service was terrible

   Booked a table with friends and family for a pre Christmas meal, everyone liked the food and the wine was reasonably priced as we pre booked beforehand. Good value for what we had and we would definitely go again. Nice for a group get together.

   We used our Tesco vouchers so was fine but sorry would hate to pay full quite high prices for standard and quantity of food. Staff and service good. Nice location for Christmas ice sculptures which is why we booked.

   We were in York with my Mother in Law who is 88, and we wanted a restaurant that would offer a wide choice. We've eaten at Cafe Rouge before and haven't been disappointed and we certainly weren't this time either. Friendly, welcoming staff (particuarly our waiter who my mother in law was very taken with), and tasty food promptly served. They were very busy and I'm glad we'd booked a table, but we didn't feel rushed in any way, and the staff managed to meet all the demands of a busy restaurant and still have time for a bit of banter. I've no hesitation in recommending this restaurant.

   Everything quite nice not as good as Witney Cafe Rouge. Also had to send back camonbert starter as cold and not runny second lot exactly the same Query whether it was actually camenbert ???

   We were unfortunately given a table in the rear of the restaurant with no outside views and too near the area where plates were cleared to - even though we had pre-booked.

   Excellent menu choice including the new Summer set menu and as a VIP a glass f prosecco. The service was faultless.

   Our table had not been booked with open table even though I did this action few weeks back, very disappointing. Luckily cafe rouge could accommodate So open table needs to sort themselves out

   To celebrate my wifes 80th and my 79th birthdays we booked a 5 day break in York. We had a wonderful time and had booked our final meal using a Virgin Experience Offer.We received confirmation through OpenTable of our booking."TABLE FOR 2 ON THURSDAY,29THJUNE 2017 AT 1730"confirmation :154. Arriving at the Restaurant just prior to our confirmed booking time we were surprisedthat they had no record of our booking.The staff "FITTED US IN"in a corner in a back room The room had absolutely NO ATMOSPHERE,NO WARMTH ANDTHE DECOR LEFT A LOT TO BE DESIRED.THE STAFF COULD NOT BE FAULTED FOR THEIR SERVICE:EFFICIENT WITHOUTBEING PARTICULARLY ATTENTIVE.THE MENU,ADMITTEDLY ASET MENUWAS REDUCED,THE ONLY RED MEAT COURSE HAD BEEN CANCELLED.THE AREA WE WERE IN NEEDS A GOOD CLEAN AND REDECORATION INCLUDING THE TOILETS AND ACCESS TO THE TOILETS. IN SHORT WE WERE EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED HAVING EXPECTED A QUALITY RESTAURANT. EVERYTHING WAS FAR FROM PERFECT.

    nice surroundings and cosy , staff as always very pleasant. Food is always good but maybe a little over priced.
