   We went for a birthday surprise and the food was very good, it was quiet but nice.

   A very enjoyable meal with a very good waiter looking after us, a good conversationalist without being too friendly. Good value for money especially when using Tesco vouchers.

   Very disappointed with the main meal which was lamb,with the price of £17 per head I expected something better. My wife and I could not determine the taste of lamb as it was saturated with a watery sauce, we both left 75% of our meal, with that we were offered a free cup of coffee which I thought was an insult.

   I dined at Café Rouge alone and my waiter was extremely polite and friendly, which made for a more relaxed dining experience. Food always reliable and tasty at any Café Rouge and the décor and atmosphere good. Recommend

   My Cafe Rouge Salisbury experience didn't get off to a good start as they didn't even acknowledge my online booking for a table of 6....even though I had a confirmation email. We ordered and waited for the food to arrive while having a chat and a drink......then we waited some more......and more. An hour later the food finally arrived. The food was at best average..... My salmon was a small portion averagely prepared and did not represent value for money in any way. The other meals seemed the same. The service was OK at best. A pleasant young man who tried to please but lacked knowledge of the food he was serving. Cafe Rouge Salisbury used to be a nice place to dine and we were once regular here. However, it's standards seem to be sliding under the guidance of its present disinterested manager.

   Saturday evening - 10pm, and the joint was definitely not jumping. Just two other tables occupied. However service was welcoming, friendly and efficient. Good competently cooked and well presented. We we decided to have coffee, no jangling keys just more proper service. The Cafe Rouge chain is what it is but good service makes a real difference.

   My wife said her Rib Eye Steak was the best she has ever had ( and she's fussy ) Very cosy and warm. Service was very good, friendly, and quick. Although the staff had no record of our booking, had to show the printout I had done to secure our table as a New Year's Eve Party was on that evening and was fully booked. Overall a very nice meal and atmosphere.

   Cafe Rouge did not have my booking even though it was confirmed by email. They struggled to find us a table then had to move us! (Table for 7). The service was slow and the first course was delivered incorrectly. The manager did apologise and we were not charged for the incorrectly delivered bread or the fougasse that eventually arrived. The mains, when they did arrive, were fine. Overall bad experience. Probably won't be going back and won't recommend anyone else does!

    A good central location, efficient and friendly staff, reliable cuisine. Well worth a return visit. Tables well spaced. Welcoming atmosphere.
