The Lowry Centre Cafe Rouge is a great place to eat before the theatre. It has a lively atmosphere and the food is of a reasonable quality. It would be a bit expensive without our Gourmet Card, but with that discount it's OK. The staff are capable and friendly, although there aren't quite enough of them when it gets busy.

We've been going to Cafe Rouge for years and were delighted we were early enough for breakfast. We go before a football match so when the bacon was totally cold we didnt have time to return it and get it reheated. On the other hand the mushroom was boiling hot. The waitress was forgetful and we had to remind her at least half a dozen times about forgotten requests. Eg we wanted brown sauce, in the end I got up and collected it, or our breakfast would have been even colder. Big staff change over preceding few weeks and they are all a bit under trained and not as efficient as previously.

NYE after theatre meal daytime, restaurant not very busy and we had booked. Service slow, items missing when meals arrived tiny portions over prices food terrible. Eton Mess dessert pathetic one raspberry and half a strawberry and like a child's ice cream

Booked an early lunch pre-show meal. Staff were very attentive and menus clear and concise. The restaurant started filling up and it did take a while to get our food and ask for the final bill but overall a very nice meal and experience before we went off to the Lowry for ELF!.

Good menu choices with a la carte and a 12.95 choice for 2 courses. The food was good, despite limited choices (it was match day and they'd obviously had a rush on before the match). Service was excellent and quick. Definitely recommend.

The staff were pleasant but although the children's starters came quickly we then waited a further 30minutes for the main courses. The table was not cleared. One of the adult steaks could have soled a shoe in spite of asking for a medium rare. The mussels were poor and the children's food was cold. We were given £15 off the bill which we appreciated but we would have preferred to have been served with a well cooked hot meal as we had requested . As a result we will not be returning to their restaurant despite its convenience to the Lowry Teatre.

Lovely evening with family. Most of the food was delicious, couple of small errors that were rectified. Staff were brilliant, especially waiter Sheldon!

Excellent service for our late night dinner. Interesting menu that goes beyond the usual dishes. More individual feel than most chin restaurants.
