   Very poor breakfast. Chef unable to cook an egg. I'll leave it there.

   We stood waiting for ages to be seated even though we had booked ! Our waitress took our drink and food order quite quickly but it went down hill from there ! A good 30 minute waitning for our drinks and it was near an hour before we got our starters !! The place was not too busy so can’t even use that as an excuse. Then they hadn’t even cleared our starter plates when they brought the mains and another huge delay for our sweets !! In all it took 2 hours 40 minutes from start to finish to serve our party of 4 !!!! Just ridiculous !! The only good point was the food was nice. Management need to address this issue you will lose customers !!

   Welcoming and competent staff at my booking for a group before an evening 19.30 function, I liked the timely and efficient service for a quick pre-theatre style of meal. We will return next month comfortable in the knowledge of quality of food, drinks and attentive staff.

   My husband and I had lunch whilst out in Edinburgh. Service was excellent. Slight wait for food but it was very tasty when it came. Would certainly go back again.

   Thank you! A busy table booked during peak hours. The service was quick, friendly and efficient. Prices and value was fab.

   The kitchen was busy so the food took longer than usual. However the waiter was very apologetic and was outstanding. Once the food arrived it was lovely! Only downside was that the restaurant did not have a record of our reservation - but they were able to seat us anyway.

   Unfortunately it had been a busy weekend due to the rugby so a number of menu choices had run out, that said we all found something to our liking on the menu. Initial serving was a bit chaotic as the manager had lost his ipad, but once that was found things picked up. Service from the waitress was attentive but relaxed. I’d definitely return.

   We were a group of three ex colleagues. We had a good catch-up and a nice meal. We meet at café Rouge every three months.

   Booked our table for an early evening meal always looked forward to having dinner here, as we have always enjoyed the steaks very disappointed when after a 10 min wait for the waitress to come and take our order to find ... they had run out of the starters we wanted, them when we decided on the steaks we wanted we were told they had run out of them too!! Not good!! .... don’t think we will be back

    We went to café Rouge for our 46th wedding anniversary while we were on a two day brake in Edinburgh, we didn't really know what to expect but we were very pleasantly surprised. The service was friendly and prompt and the food excellent. We tend to eat Italian most of the time so the French dishes were a welcome change . On our way home we both agreed it had been a really pleasant evening and would not hesitate to go back to a Café Rouge if they were of the same standard . Very happy customers
