   We booked a table for Sunday lunch for 3 people. It was freezing in the café. The waiter provided a list of all items on menu which were not available. We only eat fish or vegetarian and no sea food. They did not have any fish or indeed anything else we could eat. It would appear that someone had forgotten to order products for the restaurant.    Pleasant restaurant, we've used many times. Food consistently good. My favourite is confit de canard, my husband 's boef bourguingnon - such tender beef. Finished with a tasty sorbet. Good wines. Staff always friendly and service quicker than of late.

   When we visited it was understaffed and a staff member initially told us we did not have a reservation, when in fact we did have one. We were told where we should sit, the restaurant was about one third full, and we were not allowed to sit at a table we requested. We were told it was reserved, but there was nor reserved sign on it. We noticed a couple came in directly from the street and looked at various tables and impromptly chose the supposedly reserved table. My wife's food was cold and she had to return it to be heated. I was given the smallest half a chicken I have ever seen. It could have been crow! I ordered a glass of wine and was not asked what size and ended up paying over £6 for it. Could have bought two supermarket bottles for that price. Westbourne Cafe Rouge has always given problems but we enjoy other Cafe Rouge elsewhere. Bad management, poor service, lack of atmosphere and poor food. I have complained twice in the past - but obviously customer's comments are ignored. I am pleased the Cote has now opened in Bournemouth and I will eat there in future

   Service was really excellent today a new tall lady with a pony tail was exceptional.The boeuf bourginon was superb too

   Interesting - we used to be regular diners a few years ago. A couple of years back I think they were having trouble finding chefs. Service was very slow - kitchen not staff who were very apologetic. At that point friends of ours stopped visiting. Last visit. Escargot well overdone and only five snails. The bulk of the dish was mushroom and lardons. Steak - Sirloin - so tough the table had to be held whilst attempting to cut it for fear of spilling all the drinks ! Seriously ! Apple tart was underdone and really chewy but the coffee was good. Come on CR, let's get up to speed again. Great staff are being let down by the 'engine room'.

   Very disappointed as we were seated just near the door but every guest that arrived after us was seated in the body of the restaurant and we did not feel part of it.

   Cheerful welcome with prompt action to arrange for seating at ground level necessitated by one of group having restricted mobility. Food pleasing and served within our two-hour parking restricted.

    Was ok but nothing to write home about, the lighting was far too bright and unwelcoming , so v bad ambience , would not rush back.
