We really enjoyed our Thanksgiving dinner here. Food was excellent! It was very busy, but staff was courteous and friendly. It was a family-run restaurant with a traditional Italian atmosphere. You can tell the owners were passionate about giving guests an authentic Italian experience.

My wife and I were excited for our second Thanksgiving with Cafe Roma since we moved to Downtown SLO six years ago. We still love Cafe Roma, but last night's meal wasn't up to their extremely high standard. We arrived five minutes before our 5:00 PM seating "Outdoors" on their lovely (more COVID safe) patio, which I reserved with my credit card to guarantee we would be there. The place was smashed (hooray for Cafe Roma's business), and we were eventually seated indoors a bit after 5:30 PM. Our server was awesome (our favorite thing about Cafe Roma is they tend to have the best service in Downtown SLO), and the menu was excellent and priced well. Our food was super-tasty as anticipated, but it all just felt rushed with frantic energy. So much so that on our way out (6:15) I forgot to grab our box of delicious leftover lasagna I'd just scraped off of my plate. We'll definitely eat at Cafe Roma again, but probably not on a future holiday.

The Rizzo family presents a fabulous dining experience for an outstanding Thanksgiving meal. Cafe Roma has become our family Thanksgiving tradition. The menu offers a nice variety of entrees to satisfy varied tastes. Our group ordered the beef sort ribs, turkey, and salmon. Everyone raved about the presentation. The service was efficient and accommodating. We are already looking forward to next year!

We had a great meal here. We hadn't been for awhile and they remembered us which was nice. We had the best server (Grace)....so sweet, efficient and just seemed happy to be there. The food was great.....caesar salad had too much dressing but apart from that all 4 of us really enjoyed our meal. Best pizza around! We will be back for sure!

They were pretty busy, so that probably is the reason for less than five stars all the way through. We had to ask for certain things like olive oil for our bread and another set of silverware. The noise level was pretty bad. We could barely carry on a conversation across the table. If it was some kind of noise, baffling put in, that would be great. Overall it was a good experience though. We will be back again soon.

First time at Cafe Roma and it was great! We're from NYC and usually avoid Italian restaurants out in CA, but this was really delicious. Best test is the the tomato sauce over a simple pasta and we sopped up the sauce with the bread! Beet salad and the halibut were also fabulous and big portions that we shared. Our server was so friendly and the service was excellent. We'l be back!

We have been coming to Roma for 30+ years for romantic dinners. Last night we made the mistake of coming on Saturday night of CalPoly "parent's weekend". Every seat was taken by LOUD college student groups with girls wanting their friends to meet their parents. You could not hear yourself or the waiter. Freshman girls were dancing in the aisles, giddy with the wine their parents served. We had to leave. Learned my lesson. Always check the CalPoly schedule for things like parent's weekend, graduation, homecoming, etc. before eating at this wonderful restaurant in the heart of SLO.

Had a 7:30 reservation: seated by 7:45. Amazing food all around. Carpaccio was perfect, and mezzi pasta cooked to perfection. Calamari was less than perfect, but not bad at all. Could have been crispier and a bit more tender. Flavor was nice and sauce had a zingy mild heat to it. Wine list prices were very reasonable.

Took our son to Cafe Roma for parents weekend. The food was delicious. Served hot and fresh. Portions are fair and just right. Loved the menu as we had a hard time deciding what to get. We look forward to going back.

We were seated inside and it was extremely loud. It was packed. We couldn’t hear each other talk. Good food and waitress was very sweet. Would only go back if we could sit outside. Inside is just too much. Too loud, stressful and chaotic.

This is a lovely Italian restaurant in San Luis Obispo, off the beaten path. We had reservations and were seated immediately. Our meal started with a delicious bread basket. My husband had chicken parmesan which was delicious and I had ravioli with meat sauce that was also very good. We each had a salad, which were fresh and nicely presented. Our service was spot on, but never intrusive. We ended our meal with creme brulee---scrumptious. There is indoor and outdoor seating available.

One of the best Italian restaurants in SLO COUNTY. Food and wine is exceptional. Wish they opened at 4:30 pm on weekends, since some of the live theatte is over at 4 pm. At least the bar .
