Great ambiance with a view of the beautiful LA Library, wonderful attentive but not overbearing service and great food. The wine menu as too pricey: nothing less than $19 per glass for a white wine, with no California wine choices. Cafe Pinot still remains one of our post Matinee choices. Great overall experience.
Everything was perfect! The setting (outside patio), the staff, the service, and the food. Can’t recommend it highly enough. Well done, Cafe Pinot, and thank you!

I've been to Cafe Pinot many times over many years. It's always a pleasant experience. The food is excellent, the service perfect, and the atmosphere wonderful. The ambience on the patio is hard to improve on. Though I had not been there for more than a year, I was greeted as family and welcomed. The waitress remembered me. There are many new restaurants in DTLA, but this place is still worth mention. And a visit!
Absolutely amazing! The maitre d' was outstanding, very accommodating and personable and the service was fantastic. According to my daughter it was the best duck she has ever been served and the French Onion soup was excellent. Both of us enjoyed our meal and the service. Jeni & George C. made our dining experience memorable. Highly recommended.

Everything about our experience the Cafe Pinot was sublime. The food, service, and sitting out on the patio was exceptional. My girlfriend and I were both celebrating our husband's birthdays and the staff made them feel very special... beginning the evening with a champagne toast.
The food is delicious, i had the lamb sweetbreads, and the salmon was just the perfect finish to a lovely dinner. Cocktails on point, and the service impeccable.
Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Food was good but there was a really odd smell we noticed.

The service was unparalleled. Have been going to this restaurant since my husband and I were dating. Just celebrated our 20th anniversary at the restaurant. The moment we came in, the front desk greeted us with a warm smile. They knew right away what we celebrating. We've been to very high end restaurants where they didn't seem to care. George, the Manager and Grace, our server were both super attentive to details. The food was very good, the appetizers especially. I highly recommend the lamb appetizer. My son ordered the salmon and my husband the steak of the day. Both were delicious. I ordered the duck -- it was ok but not my favorite. Will definitely keep on coming back.

The setting in the garden is extraordinarily pleasant--and very quiet. The food was merely mediocre. My main objection was the outrageous pricing of the wines.
Salad was amazing. My chicken dish was good and very large portions. My husband's lamb was undercooked but they made it right and brought out another plate. It changed the sequence of
eating together though. Because of that, they did not charge me for my dessert.
Super friendly staff! I brought my baby there during business lunch hour. It was effortless and calm. I would definitely go back.
Had not been here in several years. It's not as great as it used to be. Food is still fine but the lounge singer was too loud. Lighting used to be more subdued and created a nice atmosphere. Too bright now! And no valet parking anymore. Probably better for lunch these days.
We absolutely love Cafe Pinot. It's always a five star experience when we go. The service is phenomenal. The people there are so genuine and make you feel special everytime. The food is cooked perfectly and is always fresh and innovative. The atmosphere is such a gem with the location tucked in a cozy spot overlooking the Maddie gardens, fountains, central library, and the DTLA skyline. Dining here is a guaranteed great experience!

The food is delicious and the service is terrific. They are very attentive to your needs. We ordered off of the menu and were very happy with our selections. There was a couple at the next table who wanted the chef to prepare a meal for them based on their dietary restrictions rather than order off of the menu. The chef came out and discussed all of the options and the couple seemed more than pleased!
This was one of the best restaurant meals we have had in a while. We let the chef pick for us. Started with a great squash soup that included crunchy nuts and a light creamy cheese. Then had two salads, one with beets that is on the regular menu and was very good, then an outstanding fennel salad with quince and nuts - maybe the best salad we've ever had. As a main course, a savory, tender, juicy chicken breast with enoki mushrooms - full of umami and flavor. Finally, two desserts - a light chia pudding with fruit and a very sweet, decadent deconstructed strawberry shorcake. Great experience overall!
Superb in every way - food, service, experience. This place is truly one of the best in DTLA. Validation made parking for our 6-hour dining/ theater experience only $7. The spot is nestled in a lovely garden by the beautiful LA library and our 5-block walk to the Music Center was a joy. The pre-theater French menu and the live French singer added a nice touch as well. The manager greeted us and checked in with us regularly making us feel incredibly special. Even the seat cushions are luxuriously comfortable. We will definitely be back! Date and Fig salad was DIVINE - a work of art.
Cafe Pinot is a go to spot when in DTLA. We are never disappointed! Food is consistently good, service is spot-on and the location was especially perfect for our lunch after a tour of the Central Library.
Excellent Friday night dinner. Great food and an exceptionally competent and attentive waitress.
Went out for an after Valentines Day date. The back outdoor patio was very nice with well lit trees and plenty of heaters.
There was a bit of a fumble after we were seated where it seemed like the waiter wasnt told we were there, but they made up for it with some complimentary champagne.
Dinner was great, definitely recommend the steak entree.
Grace and George are fantastic. Love the bread. Had the Market fish bass It was great. Try the Napa rose.

Avoid the Valentine’s Day set menu! Food was over cooked and over salted. Service was subpar! No one even acknowledged the holiday.

Went there for Valentine’s Day dinner. They had us sardined in with 2-person catering tables but that’s to be expected for the holiday. Food was slightly disappointing since it was top assembly-line in terms of quality.
Valentine's Day Dinner. I feel like the restaurant was not ready for such a busy night. We were seated about 25 minutes after our reservation time, and no one came to our table for another 15 minutes. We spent a total of just under 3 hours for our dinner. The service was very slow. The food was just okay, but definitely not worth the $200 we spent for two. I don't think I would return to Cafe Pinot.

Beware of parking fees in the underground lot. Cafe Pinot validates 2 hours, but when you're leaving, if you don't put your parking ticket in the pay machine within 2 hours of entering the garage, you'll pay $3.50 for every 10 minutes thereafter.
A wonderful oasis in DTLA! Great place for a quiet dinner--the food was delicious and 'right-sized'. The service was exceptional, and we could sit and talk after our meal without feeling at all rushed out.
Grace was our server she was top notch & knowledgeable. Jorge the manager is also a star player! They both made us feel at home & taken care of! The food is so delectable & the patio where we normally sit was closed due to rain, but they made the indoors just as cozy. This is an all around gem DTLA...you can’t go wrong!!
I took my client here for lunch, food was great! The service was amazing, always checking in to see if everything was ok, nice and quiet too. Great for a business lunch.
What a wonderful restaurant! The general manager, Chriselda Chew, took our lunch reservation and I immediately knew we were in the best of hands. A very personable and knowledgeable professional, her recommendations were spot-on in terms of both the cuisine and the choice of table. In addition, our waiter Hugo provided exceptional service and expert advice. A lovely restaurant, we sat on the patio that day and enjoyed truly delicious food, especially the celeriac soup, Alaskan cod, chocolate bread pudding and the incredible panna cotta. We are already planning our next visit.
The facility and comfort was special. We had a Fixed Menu from blackboard eats. I would rate the food service at a 2 and the service at 3.5. For a 4 coarse meal the coarses were in many respects too large especially the salad. While interesting it could have had more dressing. In the case of the tongue dish I and pretty sure tongue was not used, as it did not have the intensity or consistency, it would have been OK but they should have said something and again it was too much food. My wife's main coarse was market sole and it was rubbery, clearly cooked too much or poor quality to start with, in my case the chicken breast was fine but the squash and other elements were not cooked correctly and effectively non edible or unable to add to the dish except for adornment. It is a nice space and the dishes on the menu were interesting but effectively all poorly executed. The service was attentive but at times too attentive and almost intrusive. It is a hard balance but the better spaces often figure that one out.
Our server Grace was wonderful but the manger George was up and beyond. He really wanted to make sure we had a lovely meal and evening. Dinner was delicious and the ambiance romantic!
