Cafe Old Vienna
One of our must stops every time we are in Myrtle Beach.
Food and service are great. We plan to come back again before we leave for home.
The food really was good, my wife loved the sauerkraut she said it was the best shes ever tasted.. We took our friends and they loved it ..Will definitely be back
Food and service was good. Disappointed in that if you do believe in trying to social distance (I know some do not) the restaurant gets a poor grade on this. Our table was less than three feet from adjacent table which was fine when we purposely made early reservation and it was unoccupied, but they later seated a group of four at it. Maybe the rules on restaurants have changed ,but would avoid for now if social distancing is at all important to you or your family
It is our second year in a row. It is as good as it was last year and better this year with the accordion player. We would definitely come back again when we visit Myrtle Beach next year.
There are a few German restaurants in the Myrtle Beach area and we decided to try this one because it was rated highest on Trip Advisor. We were not disappointed. We had the sauerbraten and the veal schnitzel. Both were outstanding. There were enough great options on the menu to eat there every night for a month. This is definitely worth trying if you're in Myrtle Beach.
Great food and felt as if I was in Germany. I've been to Germany many times.
September 12, 2020 quaint German atmosphere with live music
Another wonderful evening. The violinist was a great touch for that authentic amience.
Excellent as usual for food and service.
A bit crowded, even though we went early. Not set up well for social distancing needs.
Absolutely the best and most authentic German and Viennese food we have ever had. Food was phenomenal food we've ever tasted. Literally tastes like my Grandma, Henkel or Grandma Schmidt would make on a Sunday dinner!!! Service was great! A MUST "go-to" place if you're looking for the real deal. So authentic, I bought 2 orders of Spatzle to take home because I could never come close to how well it tasted!
A favorite dinner place for us when visiting Myrtle Beach. Love the food, the house salad dressing is awesome! Service is great- timely and always with a smile- very pleasant.
Desserts are awesome as well-very tough decision.
Great food, great service, great atmosphere, will go again.
Every year when we travel to SC we look forward to dining at Cafe Old Vienna. We cannot say enough great things about the atmosphere, the staff, and of course the wonderful meals AND deserts!! 2 yumm’s up every time!! 👍👍
We love this place. If you are looking for schnitzel, spatzle, and strudel, you will not go wrong here.
We first went here when friends of ours from NY brought us here while we were in Myrtle Beach for a vacation. Now that we are here permanently, when we come to Cafe Old Vienna, we make sure to Let them know, just to run it in! So glad they brought us here, we love the food, the wait staff are great and for what you get the price is very reasonable!
Cafe Old Vienna never fails to please us, from our being greeted at the door, to the wonderful service and outstanding food. They do have a beer garden, but because the restaurant sits right on the street, it is a little noisy for us, so we always eat inside. We are repeat customers, but we brought some friends, and now they will be repeats as well. If you are looking for authentic German food in Myrtle Beach, Cafe Old Vienna is the place to come!
I hadn’t been to the new location so it’s been a few years since I’d eaten their food. I didn’t care for my meal. The veal schnitzel was tender. I ordered potato pancakes and they changed them but not in a good way. The cranberry sauce was not as good either. I had potato salad and it tasted like potatoes were only mixed with vinegar. This was not the cafe I remembered and I had eaten there many times.
My husband had pork schnitzel and he said it was good.
In addition the music was too loud. The old cafe had charm and was more a fine dining experience.
Enjoyed the food and ambience of the biergarten. Went during an off time, so it was a very pleasant experience.
Service and food exceeded expectations. Will definitely be back.
Consistent high quality experience.
Great food and great service. prices are a little high, but worth it!!
Hungarian chicken was fantastic, again! Very good desserts as well.
This is our go to when in Myrtle Beach. Best German food we have found after doing 2 tours in Germany!
Outstanding German food. The decor is Myrtle Beach phony, but the food more than makes up for it.
Very nice place. Great waitresses/Waiters. Food was great at a reasonable price.
Wow! This place has THE BEST, by far and away, German food! Nearly everything is made from scratch there and the beef is cut onsite. We learned a lot from our server Jeff who was quite helpful. My husband and I split the platter for two which could have fed four. My 22yo son had the goulash which he devoured.
I don't know how I did it but I saved room for black forest cake and it was delicious. I was celebrating my birthday so they served it with a candle for me to blow out. Thanks Jeff!!
Love the atmosphere here and the food was very good.
We had a wonderful time and dinner. The atmosphere took us back to another German restaurant we’ve been to. The food here was really good and the wait staff was attentive. They had live music and the gentlemen played so well and his instrument was beautiful. We had the German plate for one which schnitzel, knockwurst, bratwurst, and Spatzle with brown gravy. We also had the goulash and potato pancakes. Everything was very good.
Wonderful meal and environment.
The food was excellent. Great beer. Service was very good. When we showed up for our reservation we were ushered immediately to our table. Couldnt ask for better. Comming back.
Amazing experience great food and service.
It was fine. Service was a little bit slow. We sat outside, not comfortable being inside with a bunch of people but it was a Tuesday night so it wasn’t too bad. Appetizer arrived and taste fine until we noticed a hair on the plate and then sent it back. Cancelled the replacement. Entrees were great. Would recommend if you’re all about German food which of course this is. Yummy.
One of the best German meals we’ve ever had. Great value, great drinks, and live music. Can’t wait to return!
We very much looked forward to having German food and all reviews were quite positive. The staff were very good and the environment charming; really enjoyed the accordian player. Unfortunately both of the dishes we chose we very dry and overcooked. The portions were large but we left quite a bit. My weiner schnitzel was a very thin piece of veal that I could not really taste as it was so dry. I asked for a sunny side up egg as I had Holstein many times with a nice runny yolk. The yolk was overcooked and the white too gooey. Bill's gulasch looked good but the meat also had been cooked way past tender - it also had no flavor. The spaetzle was quite good. Sorry for this review.
Authentic German food and service. Food is excellent. Good selection of german biers and foods.
The service was awesome, the food was great, the entertainment was very in tune with the German / Austrian decor. We will be returning often. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
The food was very flavorful and well seasoned. There was accordion music being performed live. It was fun to see the servers dressed with a German flare. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Such a fantastic family experience. I would definitely return.
Very good food and great experience all together. Staff very attentive without being overbearing
