Cafe of Love Ratings and Reviews
Cafe of ❤️Love is everything a restaurant could offer and more! The owner Leslie Lampert and her establishment are here to make your eating experience a warm and inviting atmosphere coupled with delicious soups, appetizers and entrees. During this season, she offers her special Celebrations soup which is absolutely delicious!! I enjoyed a bowl and savored every sip! My family enjoyed steaks and sweet potato fries. I also loved their seafood cake with a garnish of salad! Come visit Cafe of Love, It is worth the drive!
I have never been disappointed with this restaurant..everything here is excellent:staff are friendly and accommodating, food is truly farm to table and there are GF and Vegan dishes available. This restaurant really rejuvenated downtownMt Kisco when it opened and continues to be the trend setter .We all loved our restaurant week meal, but go whenever we want a Great meal in a lovely cozy setting.
We usually love Cafe of Love, but they fell down on this Sunday night. We arrived for our 5:15 reservation and there was loud, techno-rock music blasting—not what you want on a rainy, moody Sunday evening when you want to relax. We asked for it to be turned down, and it was, but on came awful pop music. About one hour into our meal (by which time the restaurant was full)the music finally went OFF. Service was off, too, and this must have been because they were (as we heard one hostess mention to someone) training new staff. A waiter walked around and lit the candles on all the table but ours. I had to steal a bread plate from the table next to ours. They seated a couple in the table next to ours, then asked them to move because they had forgotten that they had booked a party of six for that same space. Some nights are bumpy like this, but, on a night when they are training new staff, shouldn't they have some experienced staff (or Leslie) walking around to make up for these fumbles?
Food was yummy except for the flourless chocolate cake, which had an odd, chewy texture and a dry crust.
We have been here multiple times over the years. We went yesterday for a brunch help was scarce to say the least. The bloody Mary was so spicy could not drink it. Eggs came freezing cold as did the hollandaise sauce. Asked for warm hollandaise sauce came back ice cold again. Bartender was helping us who is very sweet and considerate but I’m not sure what’s going on at this restaurant because this is the first time we have been so disappointed
This was our first time going to Cafe of Love for dinner. Everything we ate was delicious, fresh and had it's own unique Cafe of Love twist. The servers were all very friendly and accommodating. We started with salad and soup all which were very good!! We then had a hanger stake over a bed of beans and vegetables which was delicious and filling. The owner and staff was very accommodating to my 2 year old niece who has a serve dairy allergy. This restaurant his highly recommended and we can't wait to go back!!
Excellent service and creative, wonderful food. The Harvest Soup was one of the best things Have ever had. Justin, our waiter, was friendly and knowledgable. We were there for Restaurant Week, and Cafe of Love had one of the best Restaurant Week menus, good variety, and everything was wonderful.
My husband got a gift certificate at an event he went to and we figured we would use it. Went on a friday night, just the two of us. Service was little slow to start, but picked up and ended up being great. Food was very good and the owner checked in on us a couple of times during our dinner. Would definitely return. Nice ambiance and great food!
Service was terrible. There were 4
Of us n they delivered 2 drinks n we waited 10 minutes for the other 2
drinks. Bartender was on the phone. Then asked for water. Not delivered. Had to ask again !! Asked
for bread. Should we have to ask for bread????Ordered a second drink for one of us n it was not delivered. Waitress was not aware of anything going on. Asked for water another time n never got it. Just terrible. Worst ever. Not sure what’s going on!!
We had a nice brunch at Cafe of Love. The food was very good. We sat for quite awhile and never felt rushed. I would suggest that some attention be paid to service. The server was not very attentive. In my experience a good server always comes over after food is delivered to the table to ensure that the order has come out as expected, as well as to check in to see if anything else in needed. Our server never returned and I actually had to go find her to ask her a question about my order. Other than this, I would definitely recommend Cafe of Love.
This restaurant has gone down hill the past year! We arrived for a 7 PM reservation, had to wait about 10 minutes for a table. It took about 30 minutes before someone asked us for our drink orders,,,, and then only to be told 30 minutes later they ran out of the wine we ordered. It took another half hour for someone to ask for our food order,, then another 45 minutes to bring us the food. How long does it take to chop up salads? We left around 10:00, very unhappy with the service. We will never go back. Other choices in town with far superior service.
My first visit to Cafe of Love left a wonderful impression and this, my second, was equally enjoyable. You enter where the ambience is warm and inviting, tables enjoy space apart from one another, and the decor is tasteful and uniquely lovely rather than uniform and boring. Service was excellent! Servers, runners and bussers were cheerful and professional and there is a lot to consider on the menu. Food was great-I forward to another trip to COL
I arranged a get together luncheon at Cafe of Love. Since I no longer live in the area I looked up lunch places in Mt. Kisco online. I am so glad I picked Cafe of Love! We were greeted warmly, our table was ready, food was delicious, and we were given time to to catch up with each other. Perfect!
After having heard many good things about CoL, I decided to drive up to Mt. Kisco to experience it. Conveniently located, with street parking, the restaurant was easy to get to.
Upon entering I noticed three things: It was warmly lit (not too dark so you can't see what you are eating or whom you are with), there was a pleasant (and maybe a bit too strong) smell of ginger and lilac in the air, and it was loud.
We were seated right away and the service was very good. The wait staff kept the water-glasses filled, knew their menus (including drink menus), and made the dining experience nicer.
There is a nice bar within the restaurant that was quite active. They offered signature cocktails which we had enjoyed.
Our appetizers were delicious, and the main course even better. The Corn "Chowdah" was spectacular, whereas one member of our group ordered it as a second appetizer. I was looking forward to having one of their signature dishes... the Roasted Duck (& Duck Confit)... but they were out of it by 7:30pm. Tremendously disappointing as that was one of the reasons I had chosen to drive up there.
The deserts were good as well.
I would recommend the restaurant for those who are not looking to have a quiet romantic dinner. The noise level is manageable to have a conversation. The food and service carry this recommendation to the four-star level.
Not what it used to be. We went to dinner on Sat. evening, and were quite disappointed by the whole experience. This place has lost its way. Th food was mediocre at best.. The selection of wines was quite limited, and what we got was barely passable. Our waiter was not particularly helpful. We get better, more personalized service at a diner. On top of all of this, our food came at such a pace that we were in and out of the place in 50 minutes. Not the fine dining experience that we expected. And definitely not up to par with what it used to be.
We had never been and I thought it's been a staple in Mt Kisco and lasted through the trends that we should try. The food was good. Fresh and "organic" /farm to table feel on the menu. The broth from the muscles was so good I could drink it and my steak was well seasoned and cooked perfectly. It was nice to see a crowd although a bit loud but that never bothers me, but I know it bothers others. I'm glad they lasted as long as they have, cheers to more time!
We're always treated to great food and drink at the Cafe of Love. The food is creative, but without the affectation we're seeing in some establishments regionally. Cocktails are well-crafted. Desserts a standout. The staff is marvelous, and you'll often see the owner mingling among the customers.
