Great brunch experience! Unique menu items & quick service. Drinks were good, as was the food. Portion of biscuits and gravy should include two biscuits, but otherwise we had a great experience!

This is my second time having dinner at Cafe Nell and I will definitely return. Warm, cozy atmosphere with a table right by the fireplace. Lively small bar area where we enjoyed martinis before being seated for dinner. Excellent service. Great menu. My party of four each had a different entree and enjoyed it. Steak Frites for me, cooked to perfection, and a lovely bearnaise sauce. My husband enjoyed the lamb and my girlfriend had the liguine with clams.

I met a friend for a meal before she went to work. Great ravioli with lamb ragu and she said the salmon was delicious too!

I enjoyed a lovely meal a Cafe Nell for a recent celebration dinner. We sat in the bar area, which was great to be able to watch the neighborhood. Our server was attentive without being interruptive and I so appreciated being able to linger over conversation and drinks. I love not feeling rushed and being able to have a dinner conversation that I can actually hear, because the music level was just right. Not too soft, not too loud. Great ambiance, and delicious food with attractive presentation. Overall, a great night out!

We're glad we 'discovered' Café Nell, a delightful neighborhood restaurant. We've dined there several times, also treated family members to dinner there. The fine quality food, ambience and friendly, efficient wait staff much appreciated. The adjacent free parking lot is very helpful. We appreciate the occasional coupons emailed to us enabling us as senior citizens to dine out more.

We had a birthday brunch celebration. We thoroughly enjoyed the lemon mascarpone pancakes, the parsian scramble, traditional eggs benedict, huevos rancheros, mushroom omelette, & the bacon cheeseburger with egg, avocado & caramelized onions - along with some adult beverages ~ delicious! And count yourself lucky if Richie is your server!!

The delicious apple turnover was the best part of the brunch. Bloody Nell tasted watered down and the eggs benedict unfortunately was bland. Trying to move around the dining space was cramped, I don't like it when people need to stand or sit and the only way to do this is to slide your butt across another table someone else is sitting at. The waiters and waitresses were excellent.

Attractive bistro feel that doesn't try to "make a statement". Nice, neighborhood feel. Great for lunch in an area where most sit down restaurants with table service are only open for dinner.

It was my first time at Cafe Nell and it was lovely, beginning with the offstreet parking lot. We were seated next to the fireplace by choice, then met our attentive waiter who answered questions about the menu. The food was delicious and the ambiance included large bouquets of pink tulips. The last highlight was when we asked our waiter to take a picture of our party, and he brought a tulip in a vase for the table. A very special luncheon!

As always, consistently great food, excellent wait staff and cozy chic atmosphere. A local favorite of ours for anytime dining.

I'd recommend Cafe Nell for the most part. It's a friendly and attractive space, quite small. The staff was very friendly and helpful on a busy and crowded night. The patrons were great we thought. It felt like a happy, neighborhood sort of place that's comfortable and welcoming for all.

We asked for a quiet table and were given a tiny one in the bar area. That's not a complaint at all. The bar was likely more quiet than the dining room. Other than the too-loud music from an overhead speaker the sound level was fine.

The food was good though not consistent. My pork chop was overdone a bit. My wife's salmon was excellent. A vegetable succotash came with my chop and it was very tasty. The basil "salad" had not much taste at all. Our wine was fine. Desserts were good.

Food came out piping hot. Excellent service!

Cute spot but much too cramped for my preference. Food was ok but not great. Wine was good. Service was great. If you want to go sit in the bar area for a drink and quick snack.

2-person Tables are way too small and so tight to others that you could hear all the conversations around you as wall barely fit all the food. I was constantly worried that I was going to tip my drink over.

Valentines dinner with friends. Wait was longer than expected, but enjoyed ourselves in the bar:). Dinner was great, host was great, server was awesome & Vanessa always a delight!

Birthday dinner for my daughter and her friends. Had a great time. Food was delicious, such a cute atmosphere. Our waitress was very attentive and nice. Overall I would recommend.

The chicken was amazing! The only bad thing was the dessert came out so hot he blistered his hand. It was delicious though!

I love this little restaurant. Excellent, inventive food, authentic French ambience, lovely location. The only (occasional) problem is that the service is very slow. Or more precisely, inconsistent. Most tables seem to be served very promptly, and a few much less promptly. But mostly it's an excellent experience, so it's worth taking the chance that one's table is one of the "slow" ones that day.

I appreciate your staff making last minute accommodations for my party. Not every restaurant will do that, let alone be gracious about it. Thank you for making things easy and comfortable.

Soggy kale salad with what looked like a chopped in half piece of salmon that was not worth the extra $7! Luckily Cafe Nell survives on its cozy ambience because the food has become very mediocre. My friend had what looked like a stodgy beef sandwich with a heavy layer of melted cheese. Not very appetizing. I used to come here often but sadly I won’t be rushing back.

We ate at some great places in Portland over the past weekend and this was a favorite for sure. Great brunch menu with solid options! My daughter and I split a cinnamon roll and the Eggs Benedict salad. Both were over the top delicious. Yummy latte and coffee as well. Super cute decor as well!

We had the Roasted chicken, Lamb chop, and harvest Martini's...everything tasted absolutely amazing! The interior was beautifully done. The staff were all very kind. Willing to say may be a favorite spot!
