Never a bad meal and the service is top notch. Real deal Italian food.
Start to finish was absolutely perfect!! Highly suggest the strip steak as it was the best I've ever had !
We were greeted by the hostess and taken to our table right away. The food was outstanding and the service, even better. We felt as though we were royalty as the only thing we had to do was pick out our food and eat! Everything else was taken care of: wine was poured for us, napkins refolded, and chairs pulled out. What an experience. Can’t wait to go back.
Had dinner in the restaurant, again. DID NOT DISAPPOINT! Then took my gal next door to the bar, which, by the way, is awesome. Am I the only one in St. Louis that has never been to that side? We should’ve just had dinner over there. The staff was also attentive but didn’t annoy us, then a Dj set up and the evening turned into night-club feel. Very impressed, can’t wait to go back this weekend!
Frankie is a fantastic waiter. We each ordered a different special they sounded so good. We were pleased that they tasted even better than his description! Excellent meal!
Great service, great food, great drinks. Seabass was delicious
My wife and I ate at Cafe Napoli to celebrate valentines day but we did it the following Saturday as that day worked out better for schedules. The entire experience starts by the way they greet you as you enter. We had reservations and I would strongly suggest them for a weekend dinner. We were promptly taken to our table and from there the service took over. Prompt attention by all the staff but never too much. I got the veal chop which was exceptional and my wife got the scallops which were also very good, not my cup of tea but she likes them. A meal at Cafe Napoli is an event so plan for 90 minutes to 2 hours as you don't want to rush it. You don't even know it takes that long and when its over and you are leaving you think damn we are coming back here again. This was a wonderful experience...
Very attentive service and customer oriented, thye take pride in service and quality. One of my favorite resraurants.
Valentine’s Day was the occasion. Terrible service and food options. Not great opportunities to add different sides etc...
A+ outstanding food and service and atmosphere. Would highly recommend
Early table allowed us a good location after being offered a passageway seat. Waiter was very attentive and sharp. A very nice Valentine meal. We will return.
5 stars as usual.
Great dinner and service during dinner. We arrived about and went to the bar 90 minutes before our reservation with no expectation to be seated early. However, as we were finishing our first drink at the bar, we were advised that a table had opened and we could be seated. Melvin was our server and he knew his stuff. I always enjoy ordering from the entree display they present. I ordered the veal chop and my friend got the sea bass. Both of us were extremely pleased with our choices. Dinner was served in a timely manner though we were very surprised as we were leaving to see that we had been seated at our table for two hours. Very pleasant evening!
As always the staff and food and wine suggestions were outstanding. We were seated in the bar area and it was a festive weekend, Mardi Gras and there were a few who were energetic at the bar. I should have requested before we sat to be in the main dining area. I will remember that next time. Otherwise it was another great meal experience.
The cioppino was very good, also the grilled grouper was prepared well. The risotto was excellent! Our server provide a good balance of being attentive without rushing us in any way.
The selection of wines available by the glass was good, but seemed a little pricey.
Overall a very good experience.
Everything must be prefaced by saying this is a high end dining place.
Expect to pay $60-70 for one of the "daily special" steaks.
Strip steak was good but was overcooked. Waitor disagreed.
After a beer and glass of wine with dinner, bill was $150 for 2.
My boss is German, and tipping rules in Germany are a little different. I will admit that he probably tipped on the light side of what is "normal". But our waiter came out and asked if we were upset about something with the service and then challenged my boss on the tip and asked him if he wanted to change it. I thought this was INCREDIBLY rude. Even before that, service was fair at best. Took FOREVER to get a glass of wine with dinner.
Also, waiter did not write down our orders and then came back out 15 minutes after ordered to ask what we ordered.
I won't be back to this place.
FANTASTIC .... atmosphere, staff, food, .... everything. Highly recommend.
Our server waited to bring the menus til after he had brought the board with all of the raw meat and seafood on it to showcase their special cuts. We were not at all interested at that point since we had not even had a chance to look at the menu first. We sat for a long time between ordering cocktails and receiving menus. The food was good but the raw meat board was not at all appealing to us since we had a few vegetarians in our party. Seems like an outdated practice anyway now that steakhouses are popular across the country and it's not so difficult for restaurants to get special cuts.
I have eaten there several times every year for years. It is always outstanding!
We had in the past had only wonderful meals here so I chose to go for my birthday and was disappointed. When I made the reservation I noted it was a birthday and we were first seated in the noisy bar. After a short wait we were shown to a table in the main dining area. I had a wedge salad that used lettuce on the bitter side and the cheese crumbles were not as flavorful as I had hoped for in my salad. The fettuccine with salcissia was so over spiced it was almost inedible. The tartuffo dessert was delicious as we had hoped the rest of our meal.
A get to know you meeting with new staff. Great service great food. Very prompt and courteous.
Our service and food was outstanding. Wait staff very attentive during special celebration. Owner stopped by to wish check on us and wish us Happy Birthday. One of the best restaurants in the city.
3 couples went for Clayton Week. Choice of salad, entree, and dessert for $35. What a bargain, and a fabulous dinner! It was among the best sea bass I've ever had. Great portion size, and screaming hot, right out of the kitchen. Best bread pudding ever!
We've been many times over the years, but it had been a while since we were last there. We went for Restaurant week, and in previous years at various restaurants you get a limited menu of smaller servings, sometimes items that just don't reflect the quality of the restaurant. That was not the case here. While the servings were perhaps smaller, they were more than adequate. The men in our group were plenty satisfied with the quantity. The arancini were delicious; the salads were fairly mundane. The sea bass entree was the best thing that evening--moist, perfectly cooked. The steak was ordered medium rare and came VERY rare. The were immediately attentive and took it back to cook it correctly. Service from all was very good. Desserts were varied and delicious as well. We will definitely return--have never had a bad meal there and service is usually top drawer.
Visited the restaurant for dinner during Clayton Restaurant with my boyfriend and another couple. The food was wonderful, the server was very knowledgeable and attentive, along with other staff who checked on us as well. Overall, it was a great dining experience and would absolutely recommend to others and return. Thank you for a great experience!
Cafe Napoli had the best menu for Clayton Restaurant week. There were wonderfully delicious options from which to choose.
Service was great, had a window seat, the food was exceptional. I will return.
The salad was good, can’t remember which one I got though. Got the sea bass for my main dish...slightly over cooked, and not seasoned very well, but I was very hungry, so I ate it anyway. My date got the veal...that was delicious! The service was good, but I got overcharged for the bottle of wine by $25! The amaretto ice cream was delicious, but the chocolate shell was very waxy.
Good Service and good selection of food.
Wonderful experience! From the second we walked in to the second we left was perfect. Service, food and ambiance couldn't be better. Outstanding wine list as well. It looked as if they have a large patio outside as well. Can't wait to return in the spring!
