   I think this place has real potential and it seems like the owner is energetic and wants to succeed, maybe growing pains, staff is very friendly, some easy touches could help, all in all good, could easily be very good.

   We saw the ad for Monocle on Spectrum news channel. We had the shrimp and avocado small plate with plantains and an avocado salad. Great healthy dinner in a quaint restaurant located in an up and coming restaurant district in Cohoes. Highly recommended. We’ll be back.

   Food was good, as was the service. Our party had the sausage flatbread, pretzel bites, chicken and waffles, and all were good. Chairs were VERY uncomfortable. They have got to replace those.

   Had high hopes for this restaurant. The only thing good about this place was the ambiance. Period. Ordered tea and they did not even have a selection of anything but Earl Grey. My sister and I wanted crepe dishes, and since their menu had multiple options for crepes, it seemed like their moniker. When ordering, though, the waitress explained no crepes could be had as their "crepe makers" weren't functional??? That is the reason we went there, for the crepes! I subsequently had to order the pancakes and my sister ordered the French toast. We waited FOREVER for our food. The waitress endlessly, and oddly kept asking us every 10 minutes if we needed anything. It was annoying. We finally got our food after an 1 hr 20 min. ! My pancakes looked like they fell on the floor with the bottoms of the pancakes burnt! and batter raw on the inside! Not to mention the fruit on top tasted old (strawberries and bananas). My sister's wasn't much better. I am a hard core cook and foodie I ate around the edges, and didn't want to address the terrible matter there. Seems they have a very inexperienced cook in back. Never going there again. (also it should be mentioned, the ladies sitting next to us received their food late and the eggs were raw...they complained).

    We entered the restaurant first ones to be seated. Upon our seating we received our coffee then waited an hour and 20 minutes for our breakfast. One of the breakfast French toast was burnt to a crisp. The manager/owner came over and deducted the French toast off the bill with somewhat of an annoyance on her part. The other food was really fresh and delicious. I will try it again knowing that it’s new and they will have some growing pains to get thru
