Excellent food. Waitress was a doll and ambiance was perfect!!!
Fantastic place! The food was awesome, portions were large. Service was great! Will definitely be going there next time I’m back in town!!
I took my husband here for his birthday. We have frequented many great restaurants in the Wilmington, DE area but never this one. I totally regret never going to this restaurant. The food and service were both excellent. My husband loved it. We will go back.
Cannot say enough good things about this place. We have been eating here for over 13 years and it seems actually be getting better. Great cocktails, an impressive wine list, a passionate owner chef, and amazing food. Go now!
The desserts were the best part of the meal! The tiramisu, amaretto cake, and cannoli are all homemade and delicious.
The food was very good, and the service was very attentive. Highly recommend for a quiet evening out.
Outstanding dining experience
We dined here since it opened - before and after the renovation. The food is some of the best Italian outside of NYC and great the service is spot on! The house made pasta, sauces, seafood, breads - it's all so good!! Happy hour has some great offerings. We've made this place one of our go to spots for a great way to start the night.
The food and experience was wonderful. The bread was extremely fresh as was the house-made fettuccine! Will definitely be back in the future.
the food was very good but our server didn't pay a lot of attention to us and we told him we needed to be at a show in 1-1/2 hours
We have walked by this place many times on our way to TheatreN and finally decided to try it out. What a pleasant surprise...the food was delicious and creative, the service friendly and efficient. This place is a hidden gem. I don’t know why it isn’t more crowded. It deserves to be.
Service outstanding. Food was delicious. Generous but not overwhelming portions. Can’t say enough good things about the restaurant.
Our food was delicious, our waitress was friendly, helpful (menu choices) and attentive. It wasn't very busy for a Saturday night - and we can't figure out why. Everything was really great. We'll be back for sure.
We had dinner here prior to going to a concert downtown. It was our first time to return since the dining room had been renovated. Really like the updated look. Franchesca, our server, took lovely care of us and we had a delightful evening. I definitely recommend Café Mezzanotte. We will return.
Great upgrades throughout the restaurant. Excellent service. Food is very good! Ambiance improved.
Café Mezzanotte is less than a block away from the Hotel DuPont so it's a convenient place to eat prior to a performance in the Gold Ballroom. Since we travel from out of town for the performances we are not regular diners at the restaurant, so imagine our surprise when our waiter remembered us from a previous visit. He was so cordial, and the food was so delicious, that we are already looking forward to the next concert.
Best kept secret in Delaware. Sergio is as authentic as an Italian chef can be. I have been dining there for over 10 years and have never been disappointed. My son loves the place so much he wanted to have his 21st birthday dinner there.
Food is always great, service is even better. Franchesca was excellent, attentive and courteous. Will definite go back again.
Thanks.
Tremendous meal with exceptional service at the bar and in the dining room.
Great place downtown. Nice interior and food was quite good. Really good antipasti and desserts
The staff was very accommodating of my family and our potentially weird requests. The food was delicious. I'm glad we went.
Our first time here. Restaurant week was a perfect opportunity to give it a try. Good in many respects but not outstanding enough to bring us into the city after hours. Our server was superb and knowledgeable, as well as pleasant. Could use some updated decor inside.i
We went for restaurant week. We were able, and did, choose off the price fixe menu as well as the regular menu. Everyone was happy with their food. Swordfish prepared to perfection, best we've had in a long time. Two separate menu items (mixed grilled fish and grilled swordfish) actually came out identically. Not sure what that was about. We arrived at 6 pm, the place was not crowded but it was 86 on the tiramisu. Disappointing. We had one new waitress "shadowing" a more veteran waitress, and there was some confusion about the food options, wine orders, etc. I had to ask for a glass of wine 3 times before I got it... with dessert. Some glitches to work out. But, we'd come back.
We booked Cafe Mezzenote because we had theatre tickets to the The Grand Playhouse. It's only two blocks and an easy, refreshing after dinner walk to the venue. First, my wife loves a craft cocktail which few bartenders know how to make (Blood and Sand) but at Mezzenote not only did Chris know how to make it, quite honestly, it was the best version we every tasted. We spoke to him after dinner and he gave us his secret (this alone makes us want to go back and eat at the bar just to express our appreciation). Our starters were fantastic and main courses were great. I wanted a little more garlic and added some shrimp with no problem. The Eggplant Parm, my wife's favorite was spectacular. We had time for dessert because they were very conscious of our show time. Plenty of time to enjoy a cappuccino, dessert and a grappa. This is our main stop when we are in Wilmington and want great Italian cuisine.
Food good-fetuccine bolognese; scallop appetizer. Eggplant parm-not to my taste; ziti with marinara - tasty. Cappucinno-yum.
Menu could use an update or expansion.
Food & service were rather good although the portions of what we ordered were on the small side. Tax free dinning is a good thing too.
Pre-theater dinner. Food was very good - service was very friendly but a little awkward (in a pleasant sort of way). I will definitely go back!
Server Francesca was amazing and made great recommendations. Food was delivered fast and was plentiful and delicious. We were there pre-theatre and had sufficient time to even have dessert and cappuccino!
Sea bass - excellent. Crêpes were imaginative and delicious. Mushroom stuffed pasta thingys were a new favorite. All in all a gem in Wilmington- so surprised we hadn't been there before. Will definitely go again.
Outstanding food and service, as always. The food is freshly prepared with quality ingredients. The owner, Chef Sergio, greets and interacts with guests personally. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Hands down: one of my favorite restaurants in Wilmington, DE.
Eggplant parm was soggy. Pasta was cold and over cooked. I wasn't impressed with any of the food I tasted
Service was very nice
Amazing food.
I've been here twice and the food is amazing. The staff are so nice I remember their names.
Very good good. Found it odd that you didn't get any vegetables with the entree. Was told you didn't get them with the filet mignon????
Excellent food and service. Drinks are a bit pricy, especially for a half of a glass of a cosmopolitan.
Made reservations for dinner at 6 before a 8 o clock show at the theater. They had a theater menu that was nice. The service was a bit slow so no time for dessert. The food was average.
The pre-theater menu was very limited. Service was a bit slow. The food was adaquate, nothing special and nothing bad.It was December and they were still using their summer drink menu.
It is consistently good whenever I have been there before the Theatre.
This was our second time at this restaurant and we enjoy it there. there were only about 4 - 5 tables taken and the service was not the best, but the food is very good.
Formal Italian dining which we were pleased was able to deal with us having allowed only about 75 minutes before the show. Nothing seemed rushed on a Saturday night, but we left without feeling that we had to run to the theatre. Food was great and our server was there when we needed him and didn't hover.
This was our second visit and we will go back! Food was well prepared and wine was nice. We like the quiet atmosphere and good service!
