What an amazing place. Everything was delicious and authentic French! The lamb chops are the best I’ve ever had. Very quaint and perfect for a date. I will return many times!
A wonderful neighborhood restaurant.
An excellent alternative to eating downtown.
We will come back !!!
Love food and prices are ok
Loved this neighborhood spot for authentic, approachable French food. It’s small, which makes it loud and hard to turn tables. We waited at least 20 minutes after our reservation for a large group to finish and leave. Otherwise, this place is a gem.
Fantastic service, cozy atmosphere, amazing food , fabulous wine offering. They have an amazing take on french onion soup, a must try. My lobster ravioli was heavenly. Ok hold on the dessert my favorite part of the meal was this absolutely decadent tiramisu that has to be tried by every person on the planet. My gosh it was off the chart.
This is a quaint restaurant. Unfortunately it is very small and we had to wait 20 minutes past our reservation. Once seated it was very nice. Some of our food was cold and potatoes under cooked. Otherwise, very nice.
Great all around for the French bistro
This is a great little restaurant with terrific food and service. When we arrived our table was not quite ready and the hostess gave us each a glass of wine on the house because we had to wait. She was also very apologetic. When we were seated, after only about 15 minutes, the waiter came by immediately to tell us of the specials, pour water, etc. He recommended the duck which I had and it was delicious as well as being beautifully presented. It had a cherry sauce and was served with piped mashed potatoes and asparagus. My husband had the Coq au Vin and said it was delicious. I had a salad to start and my husband had the escargot which he loved. He chose the traditional preparation. For dessert, not to be missed, I ordered the Tiramisu and my husband had the whisky bundt cake. Yum! The couple at the table next to our was so impressed that they asked us what our desserts were and we heard them order the exact same ones! We also had decaf cappuccinos and my husband thought they were some of the best we’ve had. Don’t wait to visit this restaurant!
The food was very good, and the service was top notch. The wine list was ok, but a bit overpriced. Decor was pleasant and the artwork was excellent. However, there are two major complaints. First, the noise level was terrible, making private conversations difficult or (at times) impossible. The hard ceiling and walls simply magnified the problem. Second, the bench seating was uncomfortable, although the chairs were ok. Overall, I am torn as to whether to return; it was not a romantic meal.
Great in every way, but it sure is pricey...
We had been to this restaurant twice before and had excellent meals but it was a while ago. We went this time to hopefully have the same experience. The service was excellent, Zack, our waitperson was very good. The the traditional onion soup and my husband’s escargot were very good. He ordered the veal chop which was very tough. I ordered the duck two ways. The confit portion was very good once I scraped the cherry sauce off, but the breast which I ordered medium rare was done more well. The cherry sauce was also overwhelming. I have found out that the restaurant has changed hands, so I guess that they need some reviews that reflect the difference between the new ownership and the previous ownership.
Nice French dinner.i had the duck two ways, it was delicious. We would return.
What a little gem in a quiet residential area. East to get to with lots of on street parking. Charming interior. I was there for brunch and all at my table loved their choices. The fresh croissants for the table were a great beginning. My skillet was fresh and topped with two perfect basted eggs. I will be back.
Went for birthday with family. Terrific time!!
Excellent place to get dinner. All of the staff is fantastic and the food is phenomenal. The resturant is very small but never felt crowded, this place is very warm and homey. I will definitely be going back sometime soon.
A delightful & delicious brunch w my wife. Really enjoyed ourselves :-D
Oh my gosh! What an amazing experience! Thank you for everything.
This was a neighborhood gem. You’d never think it would be special from the unassuming storefront but was wonderful. The escargot, steak Oscar and lemon tart all delicious.
At 6:30pm on a weekday, we were able to find street parking and the location is easy to get to. First impressions, even for a romantic French restaurant, it was a little dark. I would have enjoyed a little more light so that I could admire my beautiful wife as well as see my food better. Now, service was excellent - the two ladies helping us for the evening were terrific, very helpful and pleasant. We started with the mussels - you GOTTA have these. The creamy broth was rich and flavorful - up there with the best mussels I've ever had. We also shared a creamy French onion soup that was really nice. The scallops entree was quite good - scallops seared just right on a bed of pureed parsnip and roasted root veggies. I had the filet of sole with a lemon herb sauce that was cooked nicely but a little lacking in overall herbiness. A little more savoriness would have been nice, but quite good still. Portion wise, I feel the amount of food served was perfect. So overall, Cafe Marmotte is a nice little cozy place to spend some time with your loved one (or prospective...) as the setting and ambiance is romantic and the cuisine should satisfy most folks.
We go to Cafe Marmot quarterly when we are in Denver. Its always great. The atmosphere is of a small French Bistro and serves traditional French cuisine. The menu is limited but covers the bases well with beef, fish and fowl prepared several ways. There are 2 preparations of escargot and multiple salads and desserts. Their two preparations of Sole are always wonderful. I was slightly disappointed in a special this time though. It was tornadoes in a pepper sauce with blue cheese. I like all the ingredients but it just didn't work for me and was served at medium well as opposed to my requested medium rare. We prefer it to some of the larger more well known French establishments in Denver.
It was my daughters 18th birthday and she wanted French food. It’s a super cute little bistro! The food was excellent and so was the service. It’s a small restaurant but you could make reservations which was awesome! It was a very enjoyable evening!
Cafe Marmotte has become one of our go-to places for a dependable, relaxing, affordable, and enjoyable dining experience. It’s not quite the much missed Le Central but it’s in the same direction (though not quite so Francocenttic). If I have a complaint, it’s only that the wine list seems a bit pricey for what they offer and they don’t offer a serviceable house wine alternative. It’s also a plus that they’re located near Wash Park, not downtown or one of the trendy (and usually overpriced) “rihilono” areas. We’ll definitely be back again!
This was our second visit - a birthday celebration. My husband loves duck an d ordered the duck on the menu. The duck was rather tough, the black cherry sauce? only ok. I ordered salmon on a bed of rice, a little spinach and a couple of carrot sticks. It was ok but, unfortunately, only ok
Four of us had brunch there last week. Food and service were wonderful, as always. Cafe Marmotte is at the top of our list, and deservedly so. We've been there many times for dinner or brunch and have always been delighted. Highly recommended!
Our Easter brunch experience here was awesome in every respect. Our server, Zack, was so helpful, making sure that everyone was completely satisfied. We will definitely return.
I had one of the two specials for the evening: red snapper with red kale and mashed potatoes. I'm not a mashed potatoes fan, and our waitperson, Jordan, graciously agreed to substitute wild rice. Red snapper is rarely available on Denver menus that I have seen. And Cafe Marmotte knows how to cook fish, especially red snapper. And the red kale was creatively and deliciously prepared. Cafe Marmotte has an excellent wine list selection also. And we enjoyed sharing the butter cake dessert. We look forward to returning to Cafe Marmotte.
We celebrated a birthday for 2 here and absolutely loved everything about our evening. We had a "glow" from the experience and even several days later. We will definitely return. We recommend it to everyone! A slice of Paris bistro in Denver without jet lag and airfare!
Cafe Marmotte never disappoints. The food is incredible, service impeccable, and overall atmosphere lovely. If you haven't been, go.
We had a fantastic dinner at Cafe Marmotte for my wife's birthday. Food and service were excellent. We had the tenderloin and scallops entrees which both had great sauces. Highly recommended.
My opinion: best high end restaurant in Colorado. Food is outstanding - truly great flavors, ample portions, and beautiful presentation. Excellent wine list from reasonable to expensive. And the service is top notch - attentive and discreet at the same time. Our party of four all said the same: what a find! This is the new 'go to' place.
Best French restaurant in Denver, great food and ambiance.
We all loved the food, service and location....plan to come back soon!
Delicious Food in a cozy atmosphere. We go on the early side as the space is small and can be a tad noisy when full. But the food and service are absolutely worth in in our opinion!
We had an excellent dinner at Cafe Marmotte last night. This was my fourth time visiting and was by far my favorite. The food was wonderful - I had the tuna tartare appetizer and the salmon entre. One of the best salmon dishes I have had (and I eat a lot of salmon). My friend had the french onion soup and the scallops. She loved both. In addition, our server suggested we try the flight of wines they were offering. We had 4 good size pours and enjoyed every one. The server was friendly, professional, attentive. All in all, it was a perfect evening.
Wonderful food and service. I love the quaint feel. We will definitely go again next time we are in Denver.
Very nice little place! Jordan was great, made us feel welcomed, very professional, provided us with good suggestions and answered our questions. Service was excellent, Food was Outstanding Ahi Tuna Tartare, Dover sole, the land special and if course dessert was great!
Our second time there, and we will be back. The food is delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience!
Great ambiance, excellent food, cozy enough to carry on a conversation, a little pricey
We love Cafe Marmotte. It was our first time and we will certainly come back. The food was delicious, our server was very pleasant and efficient. I loved the ambience. Merci bien. 😘😘
Great food, outstanding service, and an overall pleasant evening of dining.
