Great service and a wonderful selection of food and drinks. We definitely will return to this quaint restaurant.
Noise level was at max!! Mashed potato flower cold and hard, foie gras difficult to find in too much applesauce. Sole was excellent!
Everything was fantastic!! Great for low noise. Food was spectacular. Service was amazing.
Nice, casual dining experience. Not exactly what I was expecting when I booked for an Anniversary dinner, though. More French Provincial than I anticipated. Wine list was adequate for the menu. Service was excellent. Food was good, but nothing to really highlight.
We would return on a less formal occasion.
The food was top notch. Had beignets for dessert, best I’ve ever had. Simply delicious. Natalie was our waitress. She was superb. Highly recommend
Best Brunch in Denver.
this is a wonderful restaurant......the staff is wonderful, ambience is the best for a quiet romantic dinner. wine list is excellent and has become my fav date night place........hope the hoards don't find out about this place
This our favorite fine restaurant. My wife and I have had most everything on the menu and there's always something special which is what I usually order. The steaks here are better than any steak place in Denver and the fish dinners rival all the best seafood restaurants, too. This is a French restaurant right down to the background music. It's right on the corner but parking can be a problem. Busy intersection. It's well worth it.
My only suggestion is to have more French cuisine choices, like with the cheese plate and wine choices.
Outstanding service in a small and quaint setting. My two companions and I went to Cafe Marmotte for a birthday brunch on a Saturday. The complimentary croissants are buttery and airy, better than any I've had in Paris. We ordered the traditional French onion soup for starters, not as heavy as you'll find other places, loaded with onion and topped with a gooey cheese. Our entrees included the salmon salad, mixed greens topped with a generous portion of fresh salmon, green beans, beets and a quail egg. We also ordered the BLT with avocado and fries (which tasted fresh and homemade). Our dessert included the creme brulee and beignets which weren't the typical Cafe du Monde type, but rolled in powdered sugar and served with a side of creme anglaise...heavenly!
Unfortunately the food was not good. We only liked the grilled octopus and the crepe suzette for dessert. The Cosmopolitan cocktail was horrible.
The Ahi Tuna Tartare was not good and it came with simple mustard in a cup and crispy flat bread that was so hard you could not bite into it. The Seared Foie Gras was minuscule and it just did not justify the price. The Duck Two Ways was overcooked and it was served with basic mashed potatoes.
The space is very tight and you can hear the conversation at the next table.
The service was good.
Will not return, because the price is ridiculous for what they have to offer.
I was looking for traditional French and found it at Cafe Marmotte. Four courses and each was cooked as well as I've ever had including Paris. The service was excellent.
This place is absolutely amazing! Incredible food and even better service. I felt bad because we were the last reservation of the night, but they were so welcoming and kind. The food was as good as some of the nicest meals I’ve had across France. Can’t wait to come back - this is my favorite French restaurant in Denver!
This is a magic restaurant, with a wonderful neighborhood feeling. It enriches the neighborhood without changing the small old Denver neighborhood feeling.
Both steak and duck were not prepared (both overcooked) to specifications. That being said the quality of what the dishes were composed of was superb. Not sure if the kitchen/chef was having an off night. Service quality of our waitress was off the charts. The problem is the prices were as well. You should expect to pay 2-3 times the “store” rate for a bottle of wine at a restaurant. But the bottle we selected cost us more like 4-5x. We may visit again, but we won’t be buying drinks next time.
Overall. Value and attention to detail in preparation are the two things they could work on. Our dinner for 2 ran $180 with a single bottle of ($24) wine.
Intimate and cozy atmosphere. Lovely menu selections and specials. Valet parking makes it easy.
We will return and share with friends.
My husband and I were here for our first visit to celebrate our 26th wedding anniversary. It was perfect!
We loved the peaceful atmosphere although there were only 4 tables eating during our dinner so can't speak for the level of peace and quiet if it were full. Feels like a little quaint restaurant in France though!
Second time here in the last two months. Thought first time was an anomaly. No it wasn't. Great service. Not good-great. The food was beyond good. Wife had dover sole, I had lamb, niece and her husband had fish as well. Salads were great. The escargot for $10 is the deal of the city.
Only have Valet parking Thurs - Sat
Have to walk a block other nights.
It is worth it,
Party of 4 on a Saturday night. Atmosphere is nice but food and service were lacking. Beet salad was great, but Caesar was made with red romaine which was not crisp and the salad was not enjoyable. Table was split on the Traditional French Onion soup - 3 disliked, 1 liked. Two Sole dishes were good but not great. One of us had mussels for an entree and was never given a bowl for the shells so had to stack them haphazardly on a plate with no comment from wait staff. Entrees were not brought out together. And to top it off our car which was valet parked was covered in some substance that we had to take to a car wash and get cleaned off the next day.
The staff, food and atmosphere is wonderful
Cheese plate was great appetizer!
This is a gem, but please don't tell anyone, otherwise it will become too crowded. Outside of restaurant belies its cozy and well-appointed interior. Wait staff is courteous, knowledgeable, and professional. Food choices will satisfy a gourmand. Friend and I ate there on a Thursday, so it wasn't crowded, That's how we like it. Friend had traditional escargot and we both had caesar salad. He opted for the meat special for his entree and devoured it. I had the dover sole, and it was delectable (Caveat: if you don't like a lot of butter, ask that the chef to go lightly on the sauce; this restaurant aims to please). My glass of Chablis was the perfect pairing for my fish. This is an excellent restaurant. BON APPETITE!
Enjoyed our evening DINING. Food service was excellent. Wait staff was very knowledgeable about food and wine parings. Food variety good and creative. Wine selection good and balanced. A hidden gem.
Lovely interior. Atmosphere quaint
Server was attentive
Drinks were good
Croissants were excellent
Crab Crepe was suspiciously fishy and bland without seasoning
Ham and Cheese Crepe had way too much béchamel sauce
Felt disappointed with the main dishes
The service was outstanding and the food was delicious. I had the duck breast and duck confit...fabulous! I have recommended Cafe Marmotte to all my friends.
For all the great reviews our brunch experience fell rather flat. Service was spotty, croissants came out after our meal was served vs what was promised and weren’t all that good anyway. The smoked duck Benedict was just ok, potatoes were ok but perhaps a bit light on quantity for a typical breakfast plate. The fruit was mostly pineapple and seemed past its peak. The Croque Madame was super rich and pretty tasty but the sunny side up egg served on top had runny whites still which is rather unappealing. Not sure we’ll make the trip back which was not the expectation when we sat down and read the menu.
Great service! Delicious food!
We went to Cafe Marmotte to celebrate our 51 wedding anniversary. It was our first experience there.
We were greeted by Kim, who was our server - she provided excellent service all evening. When I asked if Absinthe was available for my aperitif, I was really pleased to find that it was available and served in the true French way. The absinthe arrived neat, with the sugar cube sitting on a flat silver absinthe drip spoon suspended on the glass. Kim brought the traditional water carafe with the drip spigot on the side. She set it all up and the water drip dissolved the cube and the drink was made perfectly.
We first shared a yummy freshly made Caesar salad - made with quail eggs and white anchovies which gave it a superb flavor. Our main courses were the veal chop and the poisson en papillote. Both were only superb. Since we had two different type of main courses, we each ordered our wines by the glass. Both wines were good and good pours. We finished off the evening with a decedent molten chocolate lava cake to celebrate.
Matt was our server and was knowledgeable and what you would like at a place like this. Menu and wine list was elegant. Thank you Marmotte.
Tremendous food, terrific staff and a very involved and attentive owner. Absolute neighborhood star!
My Mediterranean Chicken and my wife's Filet Oscar were outstanding. We started with traditional French Onion Soup for me and Lobster Bisque for my wife. Both bowls were luke warm and my gruyere cheese was a slice unmelted. The soups tasted great and we told the waitress they were luke warm and she took them off the bill. Otherwise, the wine, service, entrees and dessert were absolutely fabulous. We'll go back!
Lovely brunch experience. Quiet enough to enjoy conversation. Service was exceptional.
Wonderful food and service. Never disappointed. Will be going back. Thank you.
The service was impeccable. The food was delicious. The price was high but worth it.
The food was excellent. The grilled octopus was delicious as was my salmon. Buttery, not overcooked with just right veggies and rice. I will definitely go back.
Amazing place for delicious French food! Definitely go!
It was father's day, so this may have just been the holiday. One of the main reasons I use Open Table is that I don't like to wait around uncomfortably. We had made a 1215p reservation for a reason. I understand that the party before us had taken longer to vacate, but there were 2 other 4 tops available and we just stood around in a very small awkward space. Once the service began, it was impeccable and our brunch was quite good. Would try again because of the holiday factor, but having to wait over 30 minutes to be seated when we had a reservation and nothing offered to make up for it was disappointing.
Everything from the décor, the hostess, the waiter, and the food was more than what we even anticipated!
