this place never disappoints, food is phenomenal and not expensive
Great food selection. Food was delish! Great service. No longer a BYOB.
What an awesome find in my new neighborhood. Was looking for something low key and that’s exactly what we got. Nice waitstaff, great food and not crowded. We will definitely be back.
It's all about the food. Really good. Order off the specials menu. These items are interesting and well-prepared.
We went on an unusually quite Sunday night, but the food and the service did not disappoint.
Good food, service could be a little faster
Great food!
A gem of a Spanish tapas bar...portions are large and flavorful and service was warm and attentive.
This restaurant never disappoints. The avocado salad on special is the best. Tried the monk fish and the pork for the first time. They were excellent. Remember to save room for the goat cheese cake. It's amazing.
If you like the idea of tapas, you'll love Cafe Marbella!
Cafe Marbella is STILL our favorite "go to" place - for a small group, a big party, a twosome - whatever. The food is sensational! Our recent outing had four of us and we each got an order of the Angel Hair Pasta with Shrimp. It is so good, even as a tapa, no one wants to share! :) This family owned and run place seems to bustle and has a never ending menu - with specials (handwritten) and then "special specials" (spoken) - never hesitate to take advantage of their suggestions!
We enjoyed a quiet suptuous meal the day after Valentines Day. The food was rich and varied, especialy the cream sauce sea bass. Service was friendly and swift, room was quiet and cosy. The place is a real find!
With delicious food and wonderful service it's always a delight to visit Cafe Marbella. The specials menu is the way to go. This is one of our favorite restaurants.
One of our favorite neighborhood restaurants . Food is always good and they had a really going wine special.
The food is top notch. Try some of the specials. And don’t be afraid to ask for recommendations, Maria will welcome it.
Food was blend. No flavor. There were probably 10-12 tables with people and only 1 waitress. The service wasn’t there
This is one of our favorite places. It is family owned and run. We just love it! The food is delicious! I highly recommend.
Great Tapas spot in Jefferson Park. Solid core menu of tapas staples mixed with an ever changing list of specials. Always a great selection of fresh seafood tapas as well. Service can be a little slow but the food is always very hot and definitely made to order.
I've been here a couple of times and this time I had some problems with speed of service. We were seated for 20+ minutes with only water at a busy table in the center of the restaurant. Ignored for the first 3 attempts to get noticed. Then the problem was resolved and we were served our drinks and slowly the plates kept coming. Food was a little salty which I do not recall from my previous two ventures to Cafe Mirabella.
I do recommend Cafe Mirabella but it is best to hit it at an off time or for Sunday brunch. Tuesdays are BYOB.
I have been here several times and the Food is always great!
We love this restaurant and everyone we have taken here has loved it. The sauces and fish are excellent.
As always, the food and service were wonderful. Don't miss the avocado salad that's always on special. In addition, there's always seafood on the daily special. And--if you're interested in dessert, the goat cheese cake is to die for. This is really a wonderful chef owned restaurant.
This is my 5th or 6th visit over the past several years. Each time I’ve enjoyed my food and the service. I have been there for a fun girls night out, with my book club, with my children, and with my husband.
The food melts in your mouth. Each tapas has its own surprise. The service is easy, casual, and knowledgeable.
The price is just right as well.
One of the specials was chicken empanadas. The dough was still raw and the chicken was spicy. I've never had spicy empanadas and wasn't told that they were spicy when asked how the chicken was made. The shrimp was also spicy. There were not enough waiters for take amount of people there. Our original water never came back so we had to tell the guy taking or plates that we wanted to order more. They were also ou their Rioja red wine.
Spicy mussels were superb. Great food and service
The service was excellent and would come back if ever in the area again. We got 5 dishes and the vegetarian and chicken/pork were awesome. Would think twice about ordering the seafood dishes, not the best. Loved the rotating tapas menu!
The menu is extensive (mmmm... the specials are amazing) and the seafood is impeccable. This is one of our favorite neighborhood places.
Food was good but service was terrible. Waiter seemed extremely overwhelmed.
Of the four of us three thought it was very good, one thought it was just okay.
They have a really wide selection of both cold and hot tapas which we liked. The waiter was
clueless about the wine selections which were extensive and not overpriced.
Wonderful food- great sauces! We had 6 people which was a perfect size group to share- so fun!
We always have a lovely time eating at Cafe Marbella. The food gives us a little taste and reminder of our trip to Barcelona.
Love this friendly family run tapas place. They punch waaaay above their weight in the food and the service is lovely and warm. Really a gem and worth a trip out of the heart of the city!
My favorite tapas place. Brought friends there on many occasions. Excellent food, nice ambiance and friendly staff. On this visit our favorites were the scallops, grilled calamari, avocado salad. But there was not one thing we did not like. Thank you Marbella!!!
Met a friend here as a quick location change, first place had 1.5 hr wait. Not disappointed at all. It's BYOB but also has a nice selection of wines and cocktails. All plates came at a good pace and we probably over ordered. Their daily specials that night included a killer salmon (description should have stated mashed potatoes were included) and perfectly tender spinach ravioli. The only downside was that it was pretty cold in there. Originally was going to be seated close to the door, but I asked to be moved further down. They accommodated with no issue. We would have been frozen within the first half hour. The wine definitely warmed us up, but but should have been that cold in there.
Absolutely delicious Spanish tapas, fresh and tasty, describe this neighborhood restaurant in Jefferson Park. Cafe Marbella was BYOB for several months, if not years after opening. It now has a full bar with BYOB only on Tuesdays. There is no corkage fee! Very reasonable prices. Highly recommend.
Cafe Marbella is always wonderful! The food is delicious and the staff very friendly, helpful and welcoming! I always enjoy my time there.
The food here is always incredible! Not as out of the way as it seems, and the atmosphere way better than the understated exterior. Do not pass up the specials of the day, which are inspired.
Excellent food and service!
I must also give a 5 star rating as the tapas and service was excellent.
This was a very nice restaurant, with good food and service. It was moderately priced and not crowded when we were there on a routine weekday evening. We plan to return.
We drive 25 miles to eat here! The food is incredible...beyond words. The staff is so friendly and we love the ambiance and decor.
