A hidden gem. Traditional food with an interesting twist. Torta was fantastic! The best guacamole I've ever had!

Terrible food. We order plantains and they were uncooked and burned outside. Not salt at all. They do not know how to make green plantains. Mom asks arepas and I have not seeing arepas made with flour that it is not for arepas. Awful !!!Then the chicken was totally insipid. Not season at all. Cheese, cream and lettuce in the side. Another surprise because arepas should have all the season in the meat. Then we ask for tacos and they have a terrible flavor and bad seasoned. Cook needs to have a basic training. It seems to be an improvise restaurant rather than a profesional setting.

Our food was excellent! My salad was perfectly balanced and fresh. My fish was tasty. My husband’s pork was amazing, nice onion flavor. My son had the fish torta and enjoyed every bite. My youngest was very happy to get pancakes for dinner. Our server was great! He explained the menu perfectly! Great value!

High-end, complex flavors and (mostly) well-considered presentation in a low-key, no-frills, nothing-fancy environment, at a decent price? Yes, please. Hands-down, the best guacamole I’ve ever had. So good I got a second order to bring home. And real, homemade blue corn chips. Delicious. Delightfully fresh juice/water mixes. Meats prepared with care. Traditional Latin foods with a little something special. I understand the chef here is also at Cafe Ena; well, to get that quality at this price and in a new location where it’s been practically empty each time I’ve gone is simply a steal. They even have a basic Happy Hour menu. No hard liquor, at least yet, so folks jonesing for a margarita will have to look elsewhere, but if the sangria is anything like the food and other “soft” drinks, I’m sure it’d be a great stand-in. The only thing I wasn’t crazy for was the tres leches; I like mine a little sloppy, and while this had a lovely, subtle spiced flavor and was served warm with a scoop of high-end (probably homemade) ice cream, it lacked that over-the-top leche quality I was expecting when I ordered. Won’t keep me from trying another dessert next time I’m there, which will be soon.
