Cafe Latino offers up some of the best Latin flavored food in the Chicago metro area. The Puerto Rican dishes are personally created by the chef, who also serves up a great mix of traditional Cuban cuisine. The meat is tender, the rice well seasoned and the ambiance at Cafe Latino is reflective of the Latin heritage.
Cafe Latino is sure to become a regular lunch spot, so stop in the next time you are looking for a cultural experience with your coworkers. Dinner out with the family will also be a special occasion here, with a range of menu choices that has something for everyone.
Menu selections were amazing. So many to choose from. Loved the ambience, it was cozy and personable. Food was excellent I had the Ropa Vieja sandwich and we had a Pastele. Wow. Plus croquetas. Sauce was too spicy for my liking because I'm a light weight.
The ambience was not overwhelming but the Cuban sandwich was on the mone!! I'd definatley go back for another one in the near future
First time at Café Latino and it won't be my last. The food was tasty and plentiful. I really enjoyed listening to the music and our conversation with the owner. We live an hour away from this restaurant but whenever we are in Chicago, we will make a stop at Café Latino.
Server was super high energy and gave us the run down on the menu in detail, which was great.
Food tasty, RumGria was an interesting drink
The owner is very nice and sociable with all who walk in the door. The food is phenomenal and great potions. For drinks I recommend the rumgria and mojito both are spectacular.
I expected flavorful food that would whisk my palate away on a temporary trip to San Juan. Well, not so much. The food was not very flavorful and a tad bit greasy. I ordered the roast pork and it was dry. Every thing that we tried from appetizers to entrees left a lot to be desired, with one exception, they served a drink called a Rumgria (self-explanatory), which was pretty good. However, I was deeply disappointed that I had hoped to have found "my new spot", but rather found myself wanting to go somewhere else and get my PR food fix. It is sad though because it is an adorable place, conveniently located, and the young lady who served us was very pleasant. I hope they get better, but in the meanwhile, I do not think I will be going back.
