Service was awful. Over 30 minutes between being seated and getting our drink order. 40 minutes between placing our appetizer order and receiving it- at the same time the entree’s arrive. Food is decent but the service is awful and our food was cold.

Great food. I really loved the multigrain bread came with my Shakshouka. The interior is beautiful. Loved it too. Will try out the lunch next time. I have my eye on the cauliflower already.

Great food and service, probably better for groups or casual dining. The space didn't send itself to intimate conversation.

Had dinner with two other couples and cannot day enough about our meal! We started with two hummus bowls which blew us away. The pita was airy and delicious. The hummus smooth and flavorful. Everyone absolutely loved their meal and we couldn’t help but share with each other!!! The team brought us out rugelach with Nutella - words cannot express how delightful it was! Two of my friends have traveled to Israel / are Jewish and raves about the authenticity and flavor of every bite. Cannot wait to go back and make this a staple date night location!

The food was excellent. The Israeli coffee was excellent and the chicken shawarma was the best I ever had.

Phenomenal authentic Israeli food - amazing Shakshuka, pita bread to die for, hummus and chicken schnitzel that are classically Israeli, and the Lemonade Mint Granita is fantastic. Milkshakes and desserts are excellent as well, and they have a signature tea which is warming and wonderful. I cannot say enough good things about this place.

Delicious food. The roasted eggplant with tahini, halloumi shakshuka and rosalach with nutella dessert were all great. Very enjoyable casual spot.

A cute cafe that is a must visit in Boston. There are a lot of vegetarian and some vegan options too. I had the shashuka and it was delicious! Perfect for brunch or a dinner date.

They gouge you on the wine . It’s a total rip off . Food was fine but rolls were not good this time . They are usually great . It’s a great place to just eat ; it’s not a dining experience in any way .

This is a great mix of interesting, delicious food, low key dining, no frills service in a convenient location
for Brookline folks...sometimes it's v friendly but less so if they're really busy.
Very clean, dependable place ..made a reservation on line with no hassle. But parking can be a hassle.

Make sure you know which one you are making the reservation for. There are two in Brookline - one near St Mary’s T stop and one in Cleveland Circle. We showed up to the wrong one and had to wait.

Everything I had was excellent. There were two things I ordered from the menu that they didn't have, which was frustrating, but it was still an excellent meal. They have a wonderful dessert list.
They also complained to Open Table that I didn't show up for my reservation, which was of course not true (and I did tell tell them I had a reservation and give them my name). So that was another unnecessary annoyance.

Cafe Landwer is the type of restaurant I'd enjoy for coffee and breakfast. The service is pleasant, the coffee looks serious, and the prices are generally moderate. But the few items we tried in the evening were disappointing, particularly the pizza which was not remotely as good at those at a half dozen places nearby. If we had it twenty years ago instead of places like The Ground Round and the 99, I'd celebrate and say it is a major step forward, but today, when so many good fast casual choices abound, it just feels a little dated.

I went back for dinner to take a friend out for her birthday; I had had brunch there this past summer, which was excellent, and I had a desire to go back. The food was very good, and there were good choices. My only complaint is that we endured a very long wait for the food to be served {the restaurant was not busy}, and once the food came out, it was lukewarm at best, not at all hot. I was very disappointed in this. We also ordered 3 different dishes, and they all came out at once, sooo, not great service, unfortunately, although the wait staff was very polite and attentive.

I am familiar with Cafe Landwer from my time living in Israel and was excited to see it come to Boston now I'm back in the States. The visit did not disappoint! I got the cauliflower app and mushroom hummus, which ended up being a lot of food for the money.

Only suggestion would be to get heaters for the outside so you can people watch on Beacon street when it's a little chilly!

Been there many times for some strange reason the service this time was atrocious. I never complain or waste my time writing negative reviews especially for Israelis since I am one but this time the service was that bad. They gave me a free dessert not the good one either and said we hope you come back. I said of course I will come back everyone deserves a second chance but today was just a really bad day. Place setting weren’t there, forget lemons twice when asked, forgot the knife to cut meat when asked, forgot the water, just an overall terrible day and I drove from far away and told my girlfriend how this place was my favorite place and it was the best. Luckily she gave me the book the subtle art of not giving a f*uck. Made it much easier.

The particular waitress we had was very rude and unhelpful with questions about the menu. The wine list was also extremely overpriced for the amount served and quality of wine. The food was also overpriced for what it was. I would not recommend this restaurant
