   We ate at Café La Plantation upon recommendation after having eaten there 17 years prior. The food was great but the portions were quite small for the price. The service was great and while the location by the pool is unique, it’d be better if the pool was closed when dinner service starts. It’s definitely an experience you should have once.

   Table of 8 friends while on vacation in St Martin. The restaurant is beautiful, and was quiet with only a handful of tables on a Thursday night. The manager, Viktor, was our server and was noticeably busy as staff was short handed. This was our last night in SXM and we had become accustomed to slower paced, relaxed dinners on the island…this was no different. All enjoyed our pre-dinner cocktails, and we ordered appetizers and soup with our mains. Highlights were the shrimp tempura appetizer and the duck and tuna main courses. The espresso and cappuccino martinis were delicious dessert cocktails. Would happily dine here again.

   The only reason I gave the service three stars is that it was Valentine's Day and the service was therefore, slow, as they were very busy and only had two wait staff. They needed more staff on such a busy evening. Other than that it was a perfect evening! The food was superb! The no. 3 baked oysters were to die for, and the lobster bisque was superb. The risotto was a little dry, but delicious. The restaurant is exquisite! A must see if in the area! The wait staff could not have been more helpful or more charming! One of them moved his car so we had a place to park!

   First, this is a must visit dining experience. The ambiance was so quaint and far more sophisticated then expected, and the food was absolutely beautifully executed! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and there is not enough kind words for the staff. Victor and Ivan took special care of us when our rental car decided to break after dinner- the whole crew is just top notch! Try the Foie gras… you won’t be sorry for long! Love and light to everyone there 💖

    Service was great. Ambiance was great -love the pool side dining. Food was great also. Got the special cheese app and the surf and turf. The steak with perfect. Will come back next trip to St. Martin!

    Very lovely setting by the pool. We had delicious dinner with outstanding service. Everything from the cocktails to the appetizers to main dishes were top notch. We look forward to returning again.

    We were visiting St Martin for a week around the holidays and dined at many of the best restaurants on the island and were so impressed with La Plantation we ate there two nights in a row! Terrific food, service and atmosphere. Our server Victor and his colleague Ivan were outstanding. Highly recommend the oysters, tuna, duck, tenderloin and any of the local fish.

    Great service and very cute location. However, the food was beyond disappointing. I ordered their chocolate fondant and got a chocolate muffin… I also ordered their pulpo starter and got mashed potatoes with tiny slices of octopus. I had tried the other restaurant by the same owner the week prior, Maison Mere, and was so pleased by my experience. The food was phenomenal and the cocktails were nyc lounge-level good. I wouldn’t come to Cafe Plantation again for the food.

    Second visit was even better than the first. Ivon’s wine choice was on point as was both mains. From start to finish this place has it all going on. Do yourself a favor and get there soon.

    This was a spontaneous stop while exploring the area. For starters we enjoyed the guacamole which was made table side by Ivon, our very attentive and well-rounded server. Next we moved onto the mahi-mahi entrée which was cooked perfectly and a side of rice with a lovely butter and lime sauce over the top. For finishers we had their evening special of an upside down apple pie with ice cream on the top drizzled with caramel and a perfect finish. The place has a very Miami feel, super chill and a must try while visiting the area.
