Cafe La Haye is one of the best (if not the best) restaurant in downtown Sonoma. Owner/class act Saul oversees the cozy dining room . . . while Chef Jeffrey Lloyd, one time executive chef at Michael Mina and Aqua (San Francisco) works his magic with his team in the small open kitchen . . . something for everyone = Steak - Chicken - Pork - Fish - Pasta & Vegetarian . . . Cafe La Haye checks all the boxes . . . Great Food ✅ Great Wine List ($ to $$) with numerous options by the glass ✅ Great Desserts ✅ Great Service ✅ Great Stemware ✅ White Tablecloths ✅ Great Ambiance ✅ . . . .

. . . if that wasn't enough for ya, Cafe La Haye has been a perennial pick by food critic Michael Bauer of the San Francisco Chronicle (in his annual Top 100 Bay Area Restaurants list) and is one of his favorite restaurants in the Wine Country. So, reserve a table before it’s too late.

Note: if you can’t get in/reservations here . . . Harvest Moon (restaurant) is a phenomenal alternative in downtown Sonoma.

Have eater here twice and thoroughly enjoyed it both times. On this trap my wife and I shared a Melon and mozzarella appetizer in a balsamic dressing that was unique and delicious. My main course was an equivalent of Spaghetti and Meatball dinner. The sauce, was incredible, meatballs were the best I've eaten, and the pasta was fresh and outstanding. My wife had a Risotto with Shrimp and summer squash and she loved it. We shared a butterscotch pudding which was really good. Service was excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant.

After living in Sonoma for 18 years, we finally made it into Cafe La Haye! It was a special occasion anniversary dinner for my husband and myself. We've splurged at other local restaurants but were tickled to finally make it to Cafe la Haye. With that all said, our takeaway was really good but not necessarily leaving a wrinkle in the foodie brain. We had the seasonal special appetizer - Fried green tomatoes with fresh mozzarella. Loved that they had Kir and Kir Royale offered up so i paired the Fried green tomatoes with it. The service was outstanding -almost too good if you catch my meaning. The wait staff were super attentive and prompt on all fronts - almost drill precision level. The main course i chose the daily special of quail and mushroom dish which echoed fall's arrival so beautifully and my husband went for the pork chop with a special side of the potato cake (really just a fluffy latke made with mashed potatoes instead of shredded). The dishes were very good but not exceptional. And i think it's important to note that exceptional dishes are always the exception, hard to find, rare treasures in the foodie search. So setting aside that unicorn, the meal was absolutely lovely, seamless, yummy, rico sabor, well timed, and had an easy flow to it. The whole ambiance had a New York City small local neighborhood restaurant feel to it. The room is bright white, tiny, wedged in and they've maximized the space to perfection. The view out the giant windows is of lovely early 1900 beautifully groomed homes. So overall a peaceful settings. One table got raucous loud (a new problem for little Sonoma whereby large groups feel getting loud drunk is A-OK everywhere--hint hint its not) but the Maitre D' spoke with them and, wow, problem solved. CLH definitely goes for a quiet elegant dinner feel and we definitely enjoyed the atmosphere and attentive wait staff and lovely food. And if a neighborhood rest with VG dishes is your thing, this your place!

Server was really great and attentive. Food was locally sourced and high quality- nothing that was a ‘wow’ but more of a delicious home cooked meal. Maitre’d however was really rude and dramatic. We were a few min late due to traffic and he almost didn’t seat us. Based on that interaction, I almost didn’t stay and it definitely overshadowed the entire evening.

This is our go-to favorite restaurant in Sonoma County. A reservation is a must. The restaurant seats perhaps 40 people. You are greeted by Saul, the owner. The menu is short but there are generally additions. Not a noisy restaurant which is a big plus. The service is friendly and knowledgeable. The wine list is relatively short but has many interesting selections. Our dinner was excellent. We finished with the butterscotch pudding which was the best we had ever had.

Food was good. Got the pork with chorizo butter. Is was a little cold. The chicken my friend got was piping hot and very good flavor. Recommend the chicken. The fried green tomatoes with burrata was so so.
Butterscotch pudding was great but very small serving. Owner and ambience were great. Would go again.

Service was wonderful although table nearby with poorly behaved toddler was a huge distraction. Because they appeared to be recognized regulars that was a no win battle! Lovely little restaurant with great food and attentive unpretentious service. Would definitely return.

This is the second time we have dined at Cafe La Haye and it was wonderful both times. The service is great! Very friendly and efficient. The food is fresh, seasonal, locally sourced and delicious. Both times it was my husband and myself on a spontaneous day trip to the wine country so last minute reservations worked for us although I think we got lucky because the place filled up fast. We love Cafe La Haye and will definitely return again. Hopefully soon.

Food as always was delicious, but definitely somewhat disappointed that we didn’t get the table we asked for. I booked 8 days in advance for a special birthday and asked for a specific table, when we got there the host apologized that someone had walked in and asked for that table and he gave it to them. We had a great meal but I was disappointed with the experience.

On a trip to wine country from PA we made reservations well in advance. In talking with several locals before we got to experience Cafe La Haye they all said best restaurant in town! Friendly greeting from owner Saul. Chef Jeffrey DELIVERS. Presentation was perfect and the food stole the show. Filet, Bucatini with meatballs and the pork chop were our entrees. The service was spot-on too! Thank you for the great experience, the four of us left totally satisfied and can’t wait for our next time!

This is a pleasant little French cafe-style restaurant in trendy Sonoma. The two of us enjoyed our dinners particularly the carpaccio and fried oyster appetizer. Service was friendly and efficient. We did not feel the menu was overpriced for that area and the quality. They have an extensive wine list as one might expect

Service was excellent. We brought 2 bottles in and they brought us each 2 glasses so we could compare
the wine. Which made the dinner experience even better. They also saved a quail for the wife. The food
is top notch. I would say it is the best place to eat in Sonoma. We live near by and have tried all the other
