Cafe La Haye is always an understated delight. The service is impeccable, the room quiet enough to talk, and the food is quite excellent.

We had a lovely dinner at Cafe la Haye. Rainbow trout was the evening special and was perfectly seasoned and prepared with spinach and potatoes. Our waiter recommended the perfect wine. And of course, dessert was delicious, a strawberry crumble. A great restaurant. Reservations are recommended.

Tonight we started with sharing the Awesome Beet & Goat Cheese, orange, horseradish crema, Frisée, aged balsamic ($13). I enjoyed the Fresh Pappardelle Pasta, braised pork, Cippolini onion, Piquillo pepper, broccolini, Reggiano, Hudson olio nuovo ($23). My wife was a changed person after trying the Wolfe Ranch Quail ($34 = a frequent special) that was stuffed with a Thanksgiving-like stuffing (her new favorite).

Cafe La Haye is one of the best (if not the best) restaurant in downtown Sonoma 🏆 Owner/class act Saul welcomes guests & oversees the cozy dining room . . . while Chef Jeffrey Lloyd, one time executive chef at Michael Mina and Aqua (San Francisco) works his magic with his talented team in the small open kitchen . . . . Great food ✅ Great desserts ✅ Great service ✅ Great stemware ✅ White tablecloths ✅ Great ambiance ✅ = Reserve a table before it’s too late . . . .

Note: if you can’t get in/reservations here . . . Harvest Moon (restaurant) is a phenomenal alternative in downtown Sonoma.

Had a very good experience.Food was very good and service.Wouldn't recommend italian wine,I had no knowledge ,waiter recommended wine that was just ok and cost $55. Save your money for wines you know or buy a glass. I take some of the blame.

So glad we followed a recommendation to dine here while in Sonoma for a weekend. A quaint but trendy ambiance with tall ceilings and an open kitchen. We were seated by the owner himself, although we didn’t know til later in evening. Server was friendly and knowledgeable. Fast service. Decent wine list. Appetizer of prawns, husband had pork chop and I had vegetable risotto. All were delicious. Ended up talking to two other tables’ patrons so friendly vibe. One was a local vintner. Only complaints were size of stemware, too small for the red wine we ordered and the prawns were moresize of large shrimp if that. Maybe because we were last reservation of evening? Still highly recommend and would return anytime.

There are a handful of good restaurants in Sonoma -- but none compare to Café la Haye. Consistently exceptional service and fantastic food. Wine list is terrific and very fairly priced. I've had dinner her 2-3 times per month for a couple of years at least, and it has never disappointed.

A very pleasant evening of prompt courteous service. Food prepared to perfection. Pork chop so tender, sea bass so delicious and the risotto was creamy and full of flavor. We had to top it off with the flourless chocolate cake and cherry sorbet! The wine selection was everything you would expect for Sonoma!
You cannot go wrong!

Overall excellent, but the Chicken Tagine is difficult to handle/cut because it's served in a high-edged bowl. Lower the edge of the bowl!

Our favorite dining in Sonoma. Since moving here we have dined here multiple times by our selves and with friends/ visitors who enjoy great food and great service. The restaurant is small, but well laid our and comfortable/charming. Everyone on the service team is exceptional, crisp, professional and seamless. I look at the wine list, but mostly rely on Saul to suggest a new favorite. We have had most everything on the menu, and many specials, we would order any of them again, and again, and we will. Always look forward to dining at Cafe La Haye

Beet salad was good.

Main course we had quail and sole. Flavors were not outstanding. While eating we said we would grab a slice of pizza on the walk home, and did.

The restaurant was a wonderful surprise. Manager (or, owner) was attentive and the wait staff - excellent as was the food. Might be a good idea for the manager (or, owner) to identify himself but he did greet us in / stopped by our table to make sure everything was all right, and said good bye and thank you that we felt was genuine. I wish them the best, and we will be back!

This quaint, lovely cafe is romantic or great for friends to just catch up. The wine list is limited by the glass, but provides opportunity to order a great glass of wine. The wine list for bottled wine is in depth and contains wines that are difficult to come by else where. The prices are very reasonable too! The food is amazing. Everything is spectacular. My favorite is the pork chop!!!
It’s our favorite restaurant in Sonoma. Reservations are a must!

Cafe La Haye is one of our favorite places and we love to dine here alone or bring all our friends and family who come to visit Sonoma. The food is fresh, delicious and creative. Saul and the staff are great -- we love to see our server Esther who is pleasant, helpful and welcoming.
I always like to order EVERYTHING that piques my interest and then take home what i can't finish...so we had crab cakes, mushroom soup, ahi crudo, artichoke ravioli, the pork chop, the stuffed quail and dessert! YUM!!!
