Cafe La Haye
This was a perfect spot for a date night dinner. I can't believe the number of times we have been in Sonoma and never knew about this gym. There was a minimal wait even though we had a reservation. We were seated at a lovely table. The space is small but they make clever use of of the space with the levels. The specials for the evening were off the charts: I had the quail and my husband had the seafood risotto. Our waitress was super helpful and accomodating with our wine selection. We opted out of dessert this time but will be back here for sure in the future.
Outstanding service and phenomenal meal as always. Couldn’t ask for more.
I can’t say enough great things about this restaurant!
Saul and his staff managed a very busy evening with grace and efficiency. The evening was a pleasure!
I am never disappointed when I enjoy my dinner here. Fantastic menu options for my tastes and you just can’t miss with such a wonderful and friendly atmosphere. Saul goes the extra mile every time to be sure you are well cared for and enjoying your visit. Thank you Saul! We love you and we love Cafe La Haye!!
Always excellent service and food. The menu is compact but there is always something to pique your appetite. The seafood entree is original and the pork chop dish is delicious! The desserts are terrific. Personally the chocolate dessert is a favorite but all are a good choice.
The food and service is among the best in Sonoma. It is a great romantic spot. My only criticism is that we felt a little rushed.
Birthday and everything was perfect
My husband and I were on a Sonoma Getaway and found this gem on Open Table. I have never given so many stars! The restaurant is cozy. Our waitress, Melissa, was friendly & so helpful in choosing our selections from starters, entrees & desserts. We don’t drink but this establishment had bottles of wine that went up to $2500! Don’t let that scare you away! The food was beautifully plated and reasonably priced. My Petrale Sole rested on smashed potatoes with apple cider and bacon braised cabbage. Delicious!!!! My hubby chose Pappardale pasta with braised beef. For dessert we shared both the Classic Affogato and a flourless chocolate cake with a fleur de sel crust! Magnifique!! We weren’t sure if it was the owner or Host who dropped by the table to thank us for dining but he was very sweet, as well. The ambience felt intimate and special. We appreciated that we barely heard the background music and could enjoy our dinner conversation instead. Diners were dressed for any evening out on the town. Overall, we highly recommend and will be back for sure on our next trip.
Wonderful food and comforting environment. Fantastic service! Overall, superb. The eggplant is to die for!
The food and service was outstanding! Excellent wine list!
It was our 57th Wedding Anniversary and Saul and his team prepared a beautiful and delicious dinner elegantly served. Thank you for making the night extra special.
Very fun setting, just off the square. Very good food and service
Outstanding Meal! The service, menu and wine list are all great. Had the chicken special and the steak- Outstanding! Go if you have the chance.
Very pleasant experience except our seats by the window were uncomfortably cold. We had to eat dinner with our coats on.
Fabulous as always. Great service from Esther. This is our local go to place that is always great, warm and wecloming!
Classic white tablecloth small dining room. Very attentive service. Small menu with several specials, all explained in detail. We ordered wine by the glass but there was a very nice bottle list also. If they have the quail when you visit, order that! So good.
Have been going to Café La Haye for six years. Have not had anything but great experience each time. Food, service, and general experience top level.
Our favorite in Sonoma! Great service and amazing food and wine. Not to be missed!
Always wonderful, but the special appetizer recently was the best ever: Sous vide bacon and rock shrimp. Amazing! And the service and hospitality were, as usual, peerless
One of the best restaurants in the town of Sonoma.
Intimate dining experience in a comfortable, casual environment. Food and Service were excellent
Cozy setting with delicious food and great service. We will be back!
Lovely service, terrific food. Would have liked more fish on the menu.
Great service! Cozy ambience.
Excellent guest service. Food outstanding. Great value
The duck confit special was some of the best prepared duck I've ever had. The savory bread pudding (crispy cubes of bread stuffing) really enhanced the dish. The sauce was tasty but only lukewarm. The duck sausage was fine but not noteworthy. The overall effect managed to be truly memorable. The salmon cooked medium rare was a bit too underdone for our taste. Apple crisp was a very large portion and salty caramel ice cream was excellent but vanilla might have gone better. Great wine list but would have liked more choices by the glass.
Fantastic tasty food out of the cozy kitchen, great wines to go with your meals, always some specials to try out. Eat local!
A simply divine experience. The food is to die for. Service impeccable. Butterscotch pudding is heaven on a plate. A must visit if you are in Sonoma. Nothing else even came close to this experience with the other restaurants we went to.
Wonderful service, ambiance and food. Always consistent.
Just the best restaurant and staff in Sonoma. Period.
Cafe La Haye is one of the best (if not the best) restaurant in downtown Sonoma, just off the Plaza. Owner/class act Saul oversees the cozy dining room . . . while Chef Jeffrey Lloyd, one time Executive Chef at Michael Mina and Aqua (San Francisco) works his magic with his team in the small open kitchen . . . something for everyone = Steak - Chicken - Pork - Fish - Pasta & Vegetarian . . . Cafe La Haye checks all the boxes . . . Great Food ✅ Great Wine List ($ to $$$) ✅ Numerous Options by the Glass ✅ Great Desserts ✅ Great Service ✅ Great Stemware ✅ White Tablecloths ✅ Great Ambiance ✅ 7 or 8 nightly specials as well ✅ !!!
if that wasn't enough for ya, Cafe La Haye has been a perennial pick by food critic Michael Bauer of the San Francisco Chronicle (in his annual Top 100 Bay Area Restaurants list year after year) as one of his favorite restaurants in the Wine Country.
Side Note: Make sure (before or after your Cafe La Haye experience) to visit "Sigh" just down the street . . . a fun & chic Sparkling Wine/Champagne tasting room (open late) . . . you'll be glad you did (wink).
This is one of our favorite Sonoma restaurants. The space is intimate, the menu concise, the wine list carefully selected, and the food excellent.
This is one of the best restaurants in Sonoma. We had the quail special (x2) , the airline chicken and Pappardelle Pasta - all excellent! And don't miss the chocolate silk cake or the apple crisp with salted caramel ice cream... :)
Consistently the best restaurant in Sonoma. The service and hospitality are standouts, which is saying something, because the quality of the food and the lovely environment are second to none. A particularly interesting wine list and an ever-changing menu make this my go-to Sonoma restaurant.
Love Cafe La Haye! Great spot for date night, birthday or any special occasion.
The food was fresh and very good. I had looked at the menu prior to dining here and knew for the most part what to expect. The specials were great. We really enjoyed it.
Too bright in restaurant for dinner
Every course was superb. The owner checked in with us to be sure everything was to our liking. Service was impeccable. The flavors were spot on. We highly recommend Cafe la Haye!
Outstanding food and wine. Very attentive service. One of the best dining out experiences this year.
