Cafe La Haye
Always great food, service, and wine. Always welcoming. Great small elegant intimate place to dine. Both new salads on menu wonderful. Great team
For the small establishment it is, tables are too close to one another. We found the roasted chicken and mushroom ravioli were too salty
Good, but not our best dinner at Cafe la Haye. Service was very good and the owner is delightful. We were seated next to the open front door, which was chilly. They did close it upon our request. Appetizers were great - little gem salad was a perfect size, crisp and delicious. The tombo tuna was fantastic! Entrees were not so great. The petrale sole was overcooked and rather tough; I didn’t hear any accolades from our dinner partners about the chicken or steak. At dessert time, I was was disappointed - I had noted on the reservation that we we’re celebrating a birthday, but there was nothing done.
I will come back, but maybe not rush back.
Great experience dinning at a small restaurant. Service was great.
High quality meal with good service and interesting menu. Would definitely go back or recommend to friends. Small venue, so more intimate setting.
Always wonderful...food, service, atmosphere, hospitality. Can't go wrong.
Vacation in wine country
It was a hybrid occasion because it was a group of work friends who were celebrating one of the diner’s 30th Birthday. The host was very nice and welcoming. I kind of felt our server was a little annoyed with us for no reason I could determine. The food was very good, not great, but very good. I have to say I was expecting to be blown away. It won’t keep me from going back, but it wasn’t the “outstanding” I was expecting. The wines were very good, the Bellinis were syrupy. Finally, I may have had unrealistic expectations, but I did expect more acknowledgment of the birthday, more than the “thanks for coming and happy birthday” as we left. Since we’re re from the Bay Area and not tourists, we will all be back in Sonoma again and again, and I may try some other places before going back there.
Always the best way to celebrate in Sonoma!
Excellent gem tucked away in Sonoma. Not a tourist destination. Wine list had several selections from small proprietors who don't widely distribute their wines. The pork chop, pappardelle, tuna app were big hits.
Always such well prepared and tasty food! The service is top notch and the staff so friendly. Always enjoy the specials and the pace of the meal is perfect!
We celebrated our anniversary while on our Sonoma trip with a dinner here. Everything was excellent, food, service and ambiance. I NEVER get dessert and made an exception here. Well worth it! A memorable dinner!! We hope to come back!
Absolutely fabulous 🥂Best ever .It was a wonderful💕
Cafe La Haye continues to delight. The service was impeccable without being obtrusive. The vibe is relaxed, but the total experience is five stars. Now, on to the food! We each had the salad special: The Arugula base was not bitter - perfectly fresh - topped with slices of figs and pears with a generous dose of goat cheese crumbles. Simply delicious. I had fresh salmon - it was seared to perfection and served over a bed of couscous with haricot verts. Words cannot describe how perfect this was. My companion had the risotto, which was a delightful mix of late summer eggplant, tomatoes, and fresh Oregon bay shrimp. The portions are large and very reasonably priced, especially given the quality of ingredients. The wine selection is varied without being overwhelming. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Cafe La Haye to a friend.
Cafe La Haye is one of our favorites in Sonoma. Bistro like, the friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating staff are clearly dedicated to fine food, well selected wines, and doing all they can to make it a most enjoyable dining experience. On all fronts it was for us. Also, while the regular menu items are excellent, I typically order one of their "specials" - I've never been disappointed.
Overall lovely place with a good vibe. The food is solid but not spectacular, the pasta was cooked correctly and the sauce was good. Appetizer was great. Service was attentive but not overwhelming, well done. Overall worth a visit and we would go back.
delicious food ( salmon, pork chop), as always. good service, pleasant ambiance. the noise level rose as the place filled up, making conversation a bit challenging.
still love this place!
We had the best celebratory dinner. Everyone loved their food — pasta, salmon and risotto. The wine we picked was so good we got a 2nd bottle. Our server was fantastic — she was friendly, helpful and checking in at perfect times.
Very relaxed feeling with tasty enjoyable dishes and a good wine list that was as fair as one might expect in a region with very inflated local wine prices.
Great food,wine, and service!!
Wonderful restaurant. The food was excellent, to start we had the heirloom tomato salad and the arugula with pears and figs, so extremely good! Then we had the pork chop and stuffed quail with cheesecake to finish. It was all so very good as was the service.
Group of four foodies. All exceptional from the carpaccio., novelty salads, and corn soup, through tagliatelle and fantastic quail, to superb blood orange sorbet dessert.
It is our favorite small boutique wine country restaurant. Reservations are a must however if you are lucky there is 6 seat bar overlooking the tiny kitchen that might be available.
nice atmosphere, small, quiet guests. Waitress had nice smile but no chatting AT ALL. Felt off-putting. Brick chicken overdone and uninteresting, couscous a strange and blah accompaniment. On bone, hard to get at. Halibut very good but mashed potatoes made for blah appearance. No bread offered. Disappointing food, high price = low value.
This is my favorite restaurant in Sonoma. It is charming and the food is local, fresh, delicious. The service is attentive but not fussy and I always try something new. Try the butterscotch pudding for dessert. It is the perfect dinner choice for a couple, friends or small groups. It will be a memorable meal!
A wonderful place to take spouse to for an anniversary
The service is impeccable. Enjoyed the quail and gem salad. The stuffing with sage was perfectly seasoned and complimented the quail The gem salad with blue cheese was inhaled by a non vegetable person, me, in seconds. Will return.
Serving staff were very pleasant. The restaurant was busy but felt the whole meal was very rushed from one course to the next, with little break in between. Food was okay but not as good as I was expecting for the calibre of the place. It also could have could have been plated a lot nicer to entice the eyes. Dessert plates in particular were very bare - a slice of cake and nothing else. Not the best value for the cost. Disappointed!
Best restaurant in the Sonoma Plaza. We just wish we lived there so we could go all the time.
Long time since we had been there; expecting better. Food was good to just OK, with prices much higher. We were moderately disappointed overall.
Waitress, owner & server extremely gracious & attentative
Our waitress announced special menu from starter to dessert flawlessly
Wine & sparkling beverage wonderful
We were very happy with the delicious food & friendly service
Always an amazing experience here!!! Personalized service, knowledgeable, fresh food and great ambiance
We had a delightful evening in Sonoma at Cafe La Haye. The owner greeted us upon arrival and we enjoyed every minute of our delicious meal. The wine selection was terrific and there is a reasonable corkage fee if you want to bring your own. When the bill came, it was a very reasonable price for a wonderful experience. Would highly recommend Cafe La Haye.
Great local restaurant.
Food, service, and vibe all excellent. If in Sonoma stop by you will enjoy.
This was another wonderful evening out with Cafe La Haye serving us an amazing dinner. Our server was considerate and professional.
Outstanding place in Sonoma. Great service and excellent food.
This may have been a ‘down’ night, but neither the service nor the food was up to Cafe La Haye’s usual excellence.
Food and service were outstanding. You couldn't go wrong with anything on the menu. We brought our own bottle of wine, so we had to pay corkage. I don't mind paying for a service, but $25 is a bit much.
I had the petrale sole. My wife had the risotto. Both great. We have dined at Cafe la Haye several times. The fish preparation is always great, never dry. The chocolate silk cake is a must.
A small venue with an eclectic feel. I was too warm the whole meal. The food was good but with the rating others had given it, I was expecting a little more and was underwhelmed. The soup (New York Clam Chowder) was a little disappointing. Not much clam flavor and pieces of bacon that were hard to chew. The chicken I had was cook properly but light on flavor. The polenta was a little on the loose side without much of the polenta flavor I love. My wife had the fish and it was a nice portion on mashed potatoes. Nothing memorable for her in the flavor department. Lemon sorbet was light and refreshing since we were so warm.
