Very good, portions were very decent. Excellent attention from the staff. Always a good choice and a favorite!
Consistently a great dinner!
BEST PLACE EVER’ staff. Food. The whole experience is first class.
My husband and I had an outstanding experience last night at Cafe La Haye. Service was attentive and impeccable. The scrumptious food was presented beautifully. Our table inside was perfectly located. We highly recommend!
We have been patrons for about twenty years. We always get friendly, great service and the food is so delicious. Very creative and imaginative sauces and presentation. The soup was hot and tasty to start. My chicken with gnocchi was so tender and well- seasoned. My husband loved the sole with sauce as well! Desserts are to die for. I particularly love the chocolate dessert but the other two offered are great as well. Highly recommended!
We had an excellent dinner of Branzino and fisherman's stew. The service and food were excellent. We will definitely return.
One of our first outings since Covid and it was the best of events. Excellent wine selection, food and service as always!
Very nice restaurant. We sat inside and enjoyed our meal at our own pace. Food was perfectly cooked. Started with beef carpaccio topped with arugula and 2 fried oysters. The oysters were tender with a light batter. I enjoyed the shrimp risotto, ate every bit. My husband had the pork chop - best one he's ever had. Enjoyed butterscotch pudding for dessert. The tables were more than adequately spaced.
We’ve loved Cafe La Haye for two decades. The owner is a gracious host and the food is generally excellent. It’s been a tough year for all in the restaurant business, myself included. I applaud CLH’s brave and solid return. Most of our meal was excellent. One decision by the kitchen seemed odd though and should be considered for the future. The dish consisted of Petrale sole, a duo of purple and seasoned basmati rice, pine nuts and kimchi. All was deftly prepared and delicious, but the kimchi was put on the plate ice cold which ruined the temp of the rice and fish and ultimately the dish iiself.
The other ding was not the service, but the server. She was robotic, cold, non engaging ... almost seemed medicated. She made the service happen, but it felt very awkward and unwelcoming. Hope she finds more suitable work for herself outside the hospitality industry.
Great food. Atmosphere was very nice and we were seated inside even though we had reserved outside seating, which was nice since it was a fairly cool night.
Great restaurant and they are embracing the current COVID restrictions with a nice group of outside tables and very limited tables inside.
My family made reservations here for our last night in Sonoma dinner. We were excited to enjoy a nice dinner and we really wanted to like this place and the food but something was definitely missing. The food was just okay and staff was cordial but not very warm or inviting. Considering the price point, we were disappointed. I think dine-in just opened back up so maybe that was a factor in the food and service. Our first night in Sonoma, we dined at Wit and Wisdom and the food, ambiance and service there was superior at pretty much the same price point.
We had an absolutely fabulous meal at Cafe la Haye. The butter lettuce and radicchio salad with white anchovy and egg was a great starter—some unusual and wonderful flavor combinations. We had chicken, rosemary shrimp risotto and king salmon entrees, and thoroughly enjoyed each. Finished with the Yuzu citrus cheesecake—melts in your mouth and not to be missed. And a memorable bottle of Rochioli wine. The service was just right. Oh, and it was our first time eating indoors in a restaurant in over a year, and completely comfortable. Tables are far apart and COVID protocols followed consistently. I can’t wait to go back.
Very cute store front. We were greeted immediately and seated at our reserved table. Service was great. We had a few good laughs with our wait people. Food was fresh, high quality.
Amazing food! We highly recommend Cafe La Haye!
Service was great but I guess our expectations were higher for this little place with the Michelin star history. We went to Taub’s the following day and had a superb meal that was even better we felt, for much less no et and a cozier atmosphere.
Our favorite restaurant in Sonoma, California! It’s the best food and experience.
The food and service was amazing. I had the pork chop and my husband had the salmon. Both were cooked perfectly, delicious and fantastic. Great wine selection and even with COVID and being seated on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant there was still nice ambiance. We will definitely be back next time we are in Sonoma.
A perfect experience. Beautiful evening on the outdoor patio. Safely spaced tables. Everyone masked when not eating. Skilled friendly service. Great wine choices at very fair pricing. Everything we ordered was delicious. The owner had taken a weekend off - I’m sure well deserved after a year of hell - and his daughter was a wonderful fill-in. Don’t miss Cafe La Haye!
Great to be back after a year away. A nice outdoor setup and attentive service.
Outstanding food and top notch service from start to finish.
Make sure to try their salmon entree, it was as good as it gets. Perfectly cooked and seasoned.
First time dining out at a restaurant in a year and it was perfect!! We had three different dishes and each of us was delighted with what we had. Service was right on; not too much and not too little. Table spacing was very good and we all felt comfortable and safe eating there. The cheesecake, which we were all looking forward to, to didn't disappoint.
Great birthday dinner and drinks. It was a bit cold but that’s to be expected with only outdoor dining. They had heaters and they worked so I don’t blame them for the cold. We’ll be back again soon!
The food and service at Cafe Lehaye never disappoint. Simply delicious...
Love our dinner. I called to see if we could get in earlier and got a text and a call that we could come in even earlier, which we so appreciated. The dinner was amazing! Loved the chicken with the cream sauce and phyllo filled mushrooms/guyere. And the cheeesecake was the best I have ever eaten. Even the latte was sublime. Very enjoyable.
The team at Cafe Le Haye have been amazingly resilient. They have installed an attractive, secure tent to cover much of the sidewalk. Our food was so delicious and service was impeccable as always. Cant wait to dine her again.
Always amazing! One of our favs in Sonoma!
Always the best service and food in town! Thank you for keeping your high standards.
One of our favorite places to eat in Sonoma.
Saul does a great job. We were a little cold at first, but the heaters worked. And the food was absolutely delicious!
So so happy to see the same Team is still in place. It could not have been a more pleasant evening.. the added surprise was how magnificent the ambiance is with the parklet, it was cheery and warm. The attention to detail is more evident than ever. Everything arrived hot and fresh, from starter to entree. The filet was cooked perfectly, exactly as I had requested. It was a memorable evening and we can’t wait to return.
Always excellent- well prepared with the best ingredients
Excellent food! Our favorite restaurant in Sonoma.
Most amazing beet salad, risotto, & citrus cheesecake!!
One of our favorite restaurants! The food is fabulous and the staff are great!
We made a reservation for 5pm (opening time) and sat outside. Service was fast and efficient, food was breathtakingly fresh, and the wine pairings complimented each course. The menu was seen on your own cell phone, and the wine list (by the glass) was printed on paper.
The outside seating feels cozy (right next to the outside wall of the restaurant, under a roof) and there is a standing heater at each table. Those walking past are allowed to move out into the street, so it doesn't feel crowded. We had the carpaccio, the soup, the quail, the shrimp risotto (very buttery) and one chocolate mousse/pie dessert. $200 for two people including wine and tip.
This is easily the finest cuisine in Sonoma. The food quality and wine selections are superb, and the service is both gracious and friendly.
Great Friday evening dinner. The ribeye steaks were cooked perfect and the outdoor service exceptional. We will return!
Cafe La Haye is quite possibly the best food in town. If you’re looking for steak, fish, game, risotto and just right desserts this is the place.
Great food and service, always!
