Still the single greatest fine dining experience in the Seattle Area. Unassuming and professional service coupled with incredible food.
The food was outstanding. We tried the vegetarian tasting menu. So many different flavors. The service is amazing. The lightning and decor is great. It is expensive but for a special occasion it is worth it since it will be an experience and memorable dinner. You only live once. Love that you can bring your own wine and pay a corking fee.
Always the best food and experience here! Love!
for all the hype this place gets, MEHHHHHHHH as to food . you can sauce up anything, but if the flavor of the meat/fish isn't there, then all you are really experiencing is the sauce.
Always, always simply the best. Our personal favorite go to for family, personal celebrations. And over the years, Holly and her staff never disappoint!!
Good food. Indifferent condescending server.
Excellent host and somm.
Fabulous food, carefully prepared, expertly seasoned. Quiet relaxing and very enjoyable. Service was excellent. Rita is amazing.
Amazing food and spectacular service. They remember the names of returning guests and the pacing of the courses is impeccable. I seem to always have the famous rabbit for a main dish and also have the foie gras but my wife has the risotto which is fantastic. Great and well-priced wine list. Have been going to Cafe Juanita for years and for our money it's the best restaurant in the Seattle metro.
We regard CJ our favorite Seattle fine dining restaurant. Chef/owner Holly Smith exceeds expectations. Her entire staff spoil you from beginning to end of your meal. It is the best fine dining establishment in the Seattle metro area.
It was a special anniversary for us and first time at Café Juanita. The food was very delicious and unique for us...we tried dishes we had never had before. The wine pairings were superb. The wait staff was amazing, they literally swoop in without being noticed. It was a wonderful night that we will always remember and we look forward to going back.
Everything was off tonight and I am not sure what else may have been going on
Just not the usual experience we have come to expect from previous visits
Overall disappointed and was not worth effort to make reservations , get off work early and drive 1/2 hour for dinner
Salad and entree’s ok but not great
And our table seemed to be an afterthought on the service end on so many levels it became comical in a sad way. Just a disappointing experience overall which is sad as we used to really like Cafe Juanita
The supa de sera was amazing. The broth was so rich and flavorful. The chickpeas were creamy. The beef, while also excellent was not needed. This is my new best soup ever.
Lovely place to eat and the service outstanding. Parking very limited, we had to park 2 blocks away
and it was dark and raining. We used our flashlights that we had in the car.
It was an enjoyable experience, but you must be prepared for very high prices. $25 a glass for wine, $75
for veal chop.
Great food, great service. Sat near the door and had to wear our coats during dinner.
Incredible experience! Superior service. Exquisite food. Clean & great vibe.
Amazing tasting menu and pairings! Kristin and the whole crew were great! Thank you for the relaxing and enjoyable evening.
We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary with a wonderful meal
The food was great, but I was just a little underwhelmed with everything else. The wine pairing was so short poured, for $85 I just felt I wasn’t getting what I paid for. Our server was good, I feel he was worried about us tipping or something because he kept saying all the things he was doing for us, and made me feel like he was inconvenienced. I probably wouldn’t do the tasting menu again, but might come back and just order a dinner plate and a bottle of wine I liked...
Simply , my favorite restaurant in the Seattle area. I have never had a bad experience, nor a disappointing meal here. The service is first rate and the other night was no exception.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant to our friends without hesitation. Love their food especially the scallops salad and squid ink pasta! Would definitely go again!
Great service, amazing food and beautiful restaurant. The lamb ravioli was delightful, as were the scallops and veal chop. The portions were perfectly sized. Will definitely be back.
Overall the experience was divine. However, my husbands order of the guinea fowl was not up to expectation. The fowl was overcooked and the side dish was too bitter. The desserts and choice of wine were excellent. We have been here many times and this one time my husband's order was not up to par.
Rita was our waitress and we would ask for her again! She was very professional and made us feel right at home. We really enjoyed the whole experience!
Cafe Juanita never disappoints. Why would anyone go to another restaurant? So there is a shrimp cocktail but I had fresh spot shrimp with octopus and sea urchin roe in a complex garlic aioli with puréed oyster, squid ink and cayenne. Why do restaurants persist in mundane shrimp cocktails when they could do something like this? I could go on.
Some of the food was overly salted.
The wine pairings were well selected.
We were delightfully surprised by the attention to detail in each presentation and the quality of the ingredients in all of our tastings. It was Valentines Day evening and I dare say probably among the 3 hardest days of the year to satisfy a foodie. We delighted in the Alaskan spot prawns, yellowtail and sea urchin that was in a well of cuttlefish ink maionese to open the evening. A favorite was also the charred radiccio shio. Each wine pairing was spot on. We left delighted and so appreciated the bottle of Angelo Negro Bracchetto to close the evening. Well done!
Lovely evening with impeccable food. Service a bit meh. Other servers were describing all the extra details. Ours was very nice but ordering took a while and some minor descriptions missed. Kind of felt sad as we listened to the other waiter pull out the stops. Would definitely return but wished that more attention was given in this price point:)
This place is consistantly excellent. It's always a treat to dine there.
In the days since our tasting/pairing at Juanita Cafe, we’re still talking about this lovely dining experience. What a perfect three hours of remarkable food and drink, lively conversation and impeccable service. And it’s rare to be in a restaurant where the sounds of music, other diners and kitchen doesn’t invade your own conversation. This kitchen is vulnerably in the open but the calm artistry was a highlight. What a great night!
Exceptionally delicious food beautifully presented
I've eaten here a number of times, it is one our favorite places to go for a special occasion. In this case, my husband's birthday. Chef Holly Smith never disappoints. This time I had the special fish of the day: scallops. They were perhaps the best scallops I've ever had. Also had the yellowtail ceviche as a starter, and the flavor profile blew me away. We ALWAYS get a risotto to share, as their risotto is the best anywhere! The meal was simply superb, with perfect service to match.
Food was average and really overpriced. Won’t be going back.
An absolutely memorable dining experience once again. Chef Holly Smith never disappoints.
Great place great food. A little noisy because of the loud table next to us but generally the noise level is fine.
My husband and I took my parents to dinner to celebrate their 40th anniversary. It was a perfect night and experience. Our server was knowledgeable, professional, and fun. The food was phenomenal as was the wine. The portions were just right so we didn’t feel overly full- just right with happy pallets. The scallops and crudo were fantastic. I wish I had written down the wine we ordered! 10/10 Will be back
Fabulous overall, great location, excellent service, food and wine list
The Cafe Juanita is a jewel. Small, intimate and friendly place with exceptional offerings on the menu. The wine list is perfect for the venue and even though they don't have a bar, they can make almost any requested cocktail and dinner after dinner drink. It is a little pricey, but each dish is made to perfection. There were four of us recently for dinner and each person raved about their meals. I would highly recommend this restaurant for any special occasion, anniversary, birthday or any time you just want to have a high-end dinner experience.
Amazing food, definitely a fine dining experience.
My sister and I went to Cafe Juanita on a Tuesday night for a special celebration, and we both thought it was the best meal we'd had in a long time. The ambience there is so serene and beautiful, with good jazz playing lightly in the background. All the food was artistically presented and amazingly delicious, and the service was perfect.
This was our first time at Cafe Juanita. It feels like a special occasion spot and we'll go back. Food was absolutely perfect.
