   We visited Cafe Hon with out of town guests for breakfast before Hon Fest. They had seen the cafe in some of the online events and were excited to experience something very Baltimore. We were seated, and handed a copy of 5 breakfast items on a white piece of paper. There was no indication of a special menu for the event, and we were told it was all they had to offer. When we got our bill, we realized they'd also charged us $4 for a glass of cranberry juice, which was the same price as the food for our children. In all, it was average, and just average at that. Not sure we'll ever go back

   As usual, Cafe HON delivers. The diversified menu, value for price and large portions consistently prevails. I enjoy the HON Burger which is a monster delight on a roll. Cooked to order perfectly and a palatable treat. The service is personal as you're treated like "family." I've been several times. Now it's time to try out their Saturday/Sunday Brunch Special. I can't wait. Thanks Cafe HON !!!

   Very noisy,quality of food did not match cost. Desserts were very good, but also very expensive.

   I remember going to Cafe Hon when it first opened and thinking that they charged a lot for not a lot of food. I specifically remember their Hon potato sides being meager. Maybe I just eat less nowadays, but I thought their portions were much better balanced. The brunch entrees were very good. We'll be back. I was also surprised that it was as empty as it was. I also remember it being very crowded back in the day.

   We went to Café Hon for lunch on July 4th, having been there many, many times over the years, and having always been very pleased with our experiences there. This time, it was a great disappointment. We ordered sandwiches, which were very "skimpy", and they took an awful long time to arrive. It seemed like all the customers orders were slow coming out. I think the problem on that day was in the kitchen: maybe short-staffed; maybe more business than expected; even possible that the kitchen staff was new and inexperienced. Will we return? Yes!

   The restaurant received a face lift since my visit last year. Not as 50ish. Crab Cake was Maryland Meat, needed a little more Old Bay. Bread Pudding was excellent. Waitress was friendly and was knowledgeable about the menu.

   For a nostalgic trip back to the 50s, Cafe Hon is the ticket. A pleasant diversion in the Hampden section of Baltimore, the restaurant serves comfort food that pleases in a retro atmosphere that feeds the nostalgia of the old and the curiosity of the young. An asset to the charm of Baltimore.

    This was our 2 visit. Our first visit was good. Fun atmosphere good food a bit pricey and slow service. Our second visit was different. It's been 2 years since our last visit. The menu selection was not the same, service was quite slow and the food was okay. Again a bit pricey. It was interesting that we got in with no wait. I wonder why.
