Cafe Gratitude - Venice
Very poor service. Found a hair in my food. They forgot our appetizer. We had to keep flagging the waiter down. Food not flavorful.
I eat at Cafe Gratitude just about every week and occasionally twice. Great place to take people from out of town for relaxed dining experience. The wait staff are cordial and professional.
Excellent vegan selections in a friendly atmosphere.
Delicious food! You would never known it’s vegan if they didn’t tell you.
plant-based, creative food with amazing flavor courteous service; easy parking (for Venice) in the building...validated!! great setting, buzzy but not too loud. good for meeting friends, a date, or solo enjoyment. seriously great place with amazing food.
I always bring my visiting friends and family here! Such a nice vibe and the food is amazing. Their service is always fast, accurate, and friendly too. Absolutely one of my favorite places in LA!
GREAT EXPERIENCE FOR FIVE-5 LADIES THAT HAVE NEVER BEEN TO A VEGETARIAN RESTAURANT AND WHO ARE REAL MEAT EATERS. EVERYONE IN THE RESTAURANT MADE THEIR EXPERIENCE SPECIAL WITH PATIENCE AND SUGGESTIONS FOR ITEMS ON THE MENU THAT THEY MIGHT ENJOY. ALL MEMBERS IN MY PARTY WERE EXTREMELY SATISFIED WITH EVERYTHING INCLUDING THE FOOD (IT WAS DELICIOUS). THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS CHALLENGING EXPERIENCE A GREAT ONE FOR ALL OF US.
A nice place for brunch with a friend. Delicious food and great service.
Delicious food and a lovely atmosphere for brunch or lunch.
What an utterly perfect experience. The food, environment (sat outside) and service were all outstanding. I want to go back asap!!
Delicious food as always; great ambiance in a great location!
Great food, beautiful place, the service was challenged. I do absolutely love their commitment to organic local food. And it is still delicious, but the service did make the experience challenging
Cafe gratitude is my favorite restaurant, period. The thought that goes into creating unique dishes with utmost care cannot be overstated. Yes, it’s vegan and delicious for anyone who appreciates top quality food.
Was overall great and your staff rock.
Lisa, our server was lovely. Just the right amount of attention. Food was good and while I did not have it, the chicken fried sandwich is apparently delicious - no real chicken, just fried like one. My breakfast partner ordered it and if he had been hungrier, would have had a second one. Their turmeric latte is wonderful as well - I ordered mine with oat milk since I am allergic to nuts. I would definitely come back.
I strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone wondering if they should switch to a vegetarian or vegan diet. I’m sold on the story and the food was just outstanding and an excellent service l. Can’t wait to return and try more dishes...
Went here on a second date. She's a non-strict vegetarian. The enchiladas I had were as delicious and satisfying as I've had at the best Mexican restaurants in Texas, yet they had no meat. She loved her dish, too, just couldn't stop raving about it. The desserts were great, as well. It's nice, but casual and neighborhood-y -- lots of chatter, music is prominent but not so loud that it's hard to talk, a few kids running around, modest wine/beer list. At most vegan/vegetarian restaurants, there are only one or two things on the menu that sounded good, but here, there were only one or two things on the menu that DIDN'T sound good. Great place, I highly recommend it.
The gem Caesar salad was a little tasteless. Turmeric tea only lukewarm when served. Great service. Hostess mixed up our reservation and we came up as no shows on open table.
Food and recommendations from wait staff was delicious! We arrived 30 minutes before happy hour ended and ordered the tacos and nachos which were amazing! Soup was great and the chic chip skillet cookie was to die for! Definitely will come back and highly recommend, thank you!
Always come back here for great dinner, so good food, so friendly staff, love this place!!!
the humus plate was awful! FAlafel was like a hockey puck!!!!!!! So very disappointing for m daughter's birthday!
Super yummy plant-based dishes. Casual and friendly atmosphere. Food came out quickly and everything was delicious.
Great atmosphere and perfect for celebrating smaller gathering. Tried new smoothies and am back in love.
Terrible. I tried to change one of the menu items due to allergies and the waitress was of no help. They then charged me 19$ for 3 tiny sides of wilted spinach, kale and burnt quinoa. Their prices have become atrocious and everything is pre-mixed meaning nothing is freshly cut and that’s a shame
Excellent food and service, but there was a very fundamental violation of restaurant dining standards and procedures.
The drinks should be followed by the shareable plate of appetizers, then comes the salad course, then the main course, then dessert and tea.
However, everything came out all at once, overwhelming the little tabletop for 2. Instead of enjoying the meal course by course in proper sequence, one had to eat the hot entree first before it got cold. A mish mash smorgasbord dining experience, which was truly
unexpected, unfortunate, and uncorrectable.
Skipped tea and dessert; no room on the table and would have just added to the confusion.
I usually LOVE this place but this day specifically, their new summer Farmer’s Market salad was nothing more than mediocre. Plus, there was a party or smth close to us, so it was so noisy, my friend and I could barely hear each other. Plus, the bill added up to $55 per person WITHOUT alcohol! And I was kind of hungry still when I came home...
I had not been into the cafe for a while because the hostesses tend to be a little chilly, but I went in today even though OpenTable sent me an email saying that I was a no-show. (?) The hostess was still chilly, but the waitress was fabulous. There was a hair in my food and the dessert had cashews even though that ingredient is not listed on the menu with the dessert description. Be careful if you have allergies. Come early and wear a sweater because some of the hostesses walk really, really slow (I waited 15 minutes) and can give you a chill. Despite the speed bumps, I want to emphasize that the wait staff at the cafe are truly charming. Every time I've been there, I am impressed with their friendliness.
So AWESOME!!!! We will be back! The atmosphere, the staff and the food were ALL amazing!
Food was good. Parking validation didn't work and I ended up paying $12 for parking. Didn't expect that. We had a wonderful waiter who took our order. Very friendly and engaging.
Had a great meal with family. Staff was kind and attentive. We even had an earthquake mid-meal, so that was a nice amenity. Love Cafe Gratitude!
I am grateful for Café Gratitude, a lively restaurant with an excellent menu and professional servers. The question of the day is always delightfully thought-provoking and appreciated by the table. Non-vegans will also enjoy Café Gratitude.
Centrally-located to other eateries on main street and adjacent to a sleepy residential neighborhood, this Cafe Gratitude has the ambiance, the service, and food that deserves a 5-star from me. They took great care of my five guests and I over a birthday dinner (w/ surprise birthday song performance + complimentary salted caramel ice cream for birthday boy). The Nachos were easy to share (each person had 1.5 bites/chips to eat) and I recommend this for appetizers. We each ordered a dish (bowl, plate, etc.) off of the menu and everyone went home full of stomach (note: 4 out of 6 of us were female). The bowls are heartier IMO, my favorite is the Humble, but most bowls I recommend. Finally, if you are hoping to dine on a Thur./Fri./Sat. evening or Sun. brunch/lunch....I highly recommend you play it safe and make reservations!
Really nice place with very good food and friendly staff. The “I am...” menu and the inspiring question are a bit too much for me, but still totally worth to go there to try some delicious plant based food.
Great ambiance...a bit too loud for my taste. I'm in my 50's! LOL! Probably why. The food was a little disappointing, but loved the booch! Not fond of the whole "bowl" fare. The key lime pie had a bad aftertaste. My salad was ok. Overall, great decorating and it did have a nice energetic buzz.
I usually love it here but today I arrived before 1:45 and ordered a cauliflower app. It didn’t arrive so by 2:20 I stood up + asked the waiter where it was. What bothered me greatly was his immediate response : I didn’t do it. He did , but either way where was my food. I waited over 40 minutes for cauliflower. They were busy filming some Australian man so maybe the restaurant should’ve been shut down if a small order couldn’t be placed. Ps yes I paid for my order and my golden milk. Not even a sorry for the wait.
I loved having Cafe Gratitude so close to where we were staying on our vacation in Venice, CA. The food is always top notch vegan fare and I love that it’s more fresh than other local vegan restaurants that often have way too much oil.
Loved this place! Great atmosphere, great food, friendly and fun service. An ingenious way to order : I am exquisite and enthusiastic - fab
Picked this restaurant because our friends are vegetarian and this restaurant is dog friendly. From the hostess to management to food it was amazing. You do not have to be vegan to appreciate this restaurant!
Amazing atmosphere. Clean, comfortable, friendly & knowledgeable staff, accommodating any dietary needs.
We loved Cafe Gratitude! We arrived late for our Mother's Day reservation (pretty crowded day) but they seated us right away, and we didn't feel crowded in at all. The staff was friendly and kind. And they managed to be attentive even with a lot of people there. The food was really good, and we had a nice time. I would for sure recommend this restaurant!!
