Cafe Gratitude - Arts District
Food selection was amazing and would definitely recommend it to a vegetarian/vegan.
Parking is easy and free. Greeted by Penelope, who was awesome. She took my order right away and got everything perfect. It was not busy, so we had a brief chat. What a lovey young lady. I highly recommend this place for health conscious people. Vegans will be especially pleased.
Food was great, appetizing
Very noisy indoor seating
We opted to stay outside but the service was very slow outside
Great food for a good deal. The "Taco Tuesday" selections were very affordable at $12 for 3 tacos! We didn't love how dark it was inside the restaurant. It honestly made us a bit sleepy! If they turned up the lights, the ambiance would be perfect.
We always enjoy Cafe Gratitude. Great food, imaginatively prepared. However I do not like being assigned to write a certain number of words!
I always love coming to Cafe Gratitude. This location is always so clean and friendly. I pre-ordered the cinnamon rolls this time because they usually run out of their fresh baked items early in the day. The breakfast items were incredibly filling so much that we had to pack up the rest. They were great even as leftovers later in the day. Everything is always fresh and amazing.
Took a friend for her birthday, they don't do anything special there which is fine, our service was great, food wait time was great. Food tasted fresh and executed to perfection. First time here and now I am craving to eat here everyday and I am not remotely vegan.
Cafe Gratitude is my happy place. Sign up for the rewards card. Very generous!
Went with 2 foodies from out of town.
We were wowed!
Service was excellent.
Food was creative, tasty and healthy.
A rare combination.
Will be back.
Love the coffee, food and decor! Highly recommend!
Great vegan options. Very tasty, service was excellent and place very clean and cozy. Had a great experience.
We were warmly greeted and seated right away by a delightful hostess. Our server provided outstanding service throughout the night with a warm and bubbly personality, attention to detail, attentiveness, and great explanations to menu items.
The table loved the sautéed broccolini... I especially loved the tempeh bacon that comes with it... spicy, sweet and addictive. The SF mission burrito is a favorite... and in my opinion the star of the show is the the mushroom carnitas stuffed inside... delectably chewy! Economical too as light eaters can make two meals out of this! Rest of us had bowls, Evolved with avocado. Bowls were delish. Evolved has the chewy crunch of sea veggies that I like and comes with spicy bibimbap sauce on the side so you can adjust heat and salt. Finally, the maple ice cream that came with the coffee cake was rich and very flavorful, definitely a keeper.
Good food, great service. I'm not vegetarian or vegan, but went home happy. Nice place, parking at the door. Bonus: nice beer selection.
Love this place, All plant-based foods with gourmet level, it always impresses me. Menu options and taste can accommodate to any foodie from vegetarian, flexiterian and even non-vegan eaters. Mostly organic/local ingredients and creative combinations. Allergen dishes available and gluten-free friendly as well.
Worst service experience for medicore food. As I try to be respectful to the restaurant employees and tip accordingly, I rarely experience terrible service, particularly in a highly competitive foodie city like LA. However, when it does happen, especially in a way that belittles the validity of my complaints or demeans my honesty, logic, experience, etiquette or any other aspects of my character, I cannot help but wonder whether this was in some way related to my skin colour or any other cues that could have been (mis)read to signify certain socioeconomic status and position of power. If so, the thought that such backward notion still persists and worst, is acted upon baffles me and leaves me with utter despair. Unfortunately, This was what I felt today when the amicable staff suddenly turned non-attentive, dismissive, and accusatory to my questiom related to a concern I repetitively attempted to clarify and double-check upon my arrival and before the meal. Their claim to have not heard what I repeatedly asked for confirmation only further proved their inattentiveness and disregard from the start; they either didn't pay attention to what I was saying or decided to ignore me regardless, because if for some reason they felt like a clarification was needed, they should have asked or at least not given me a positive answer. I will not be returning in the future.
Very casual. Excellent food. Very nice staff. A bit noisy.
I have been here twice for lunch mid-week and the food and service were fantastic both visits!
Great food and service, plates were filling and well garnished.
Great food, good people, great service!! Thank you so much!!
One of my favorite vegan spots, always healthy and balanced, flavorful food. Great atmosphere too, and very friendly staff at all locations.
The service was prompt, the waiter was attentive, and the food was delicious! A lot of variety on the menu and comes with filling portions. The kelp noodle dish was excellent, as well as the Humble Bowl (Indian) and Whole Bowl! The buffalo cauliflower is also delicious addition to a meal.
Had a great experience!
Very beautiful restaurant, very aesthetically pleasing with great picture opportunities. Personally I am not vegan but wanted to try it out, this place is very tasty. Also in a very nice area, great to walk around after and enjoy a beautiful day.
Great food & service
I absolutely LOVE the ambience and the overall positive vibe. It was the perfect place for me and my mom to reflect on how lucky and grateful we are to have one another.
I'm vegan so I appreciate any effort to offer vegan dishes. Cafe Gratitude delivers and then some. It is the best vegan restaurant in downtown Los Angeles (although my spouse prefers Shojin) in that its entire menu is vegan and it does a very good job of creating vegan dishes. Nothing heel-kicking exciting, but competent and good. I come here for special occasions and well as an occasional dinner. I highly recommend it to vegans; the food is good enough that their non-vegan companions will be happy as well.
All was love...service, food, space
Left all loves up...
Great vegan restaurant in the Arts District with validated parking right in front. Bright, spacious atmosphere and creative menu.
We enjoyed the flash-fried cauliflower with buffalo sauce, but I was expecting it to have a bit of a crunch to it or some sort of coating. Instead, it was just soft enough to bite into with the sauce drizzled over the top. Tasty, but a bit different then my expectation. I also ordered the mole enchiladas opting for salad greens on the side instead of the pickled veggies and coleslaw. They were good, but in my opinion, could be a bit juicier.
I love trying out new places and even though the food here was good I didn't feel it held a candle to my favorite vegan spot, Seabirds Kitchen.
The stars of the dine LA meal were the young coconut ceviche and the desserts!
First time dining here. Overall the food was good (and very healthy), our server was very positive, and I did feel more positive after ordering using the affirmation. The ambience is clean, bright, and nicely decorated. It's very pleasant inside. I was worried about the noise level too but it was just fine, no loud music playing. Our bill was about $140 including tip for three of us. We each got the $29 three course meal special plus two drinks. I would come back for a special occasion dinner.
Vegan/Vegetarians and nonvegetarians in our party really loved this place. Food was extremely tasty and the desserts did not taste like cardboard. I marked down the service a bit because our waitress evidently knew the people at the table next to us and spent much of the time chatting them up and fawning over them rather than taking care of all of her tables. The other negative is the parking. The restaurant does have their own parking lot but when we got there we were told it was full and that the next closest lot was 12 blocks away! We ended up parking in one of the spots that is reserved for takeout only.
Honestly impossible to tell that everything is vegan. My friend and I shared the nachos to start. For the main course, we both got the pesto kelp noodle, which were really quite incredible- super light, yet filling.
Did not realize there were not vegetarian options (eg cheese) as well think yelp said vegetarian and vegan
For the amount of money I would say it's not worth it the food is okay but certainly not for the prices that they charge. The pickled vegetables were terrible I could not eat them and did not belong with the food that I was eating. For the amount of money Au Loc, not very far distance over by the Ahmanson Theatre, is a much better choice.
The restaurant was closed upon our arrival. The sign outside stated that the restaurant was under renovation. I was able to make this open table reservation and was not contacted by anyone from the restaurant to notify me of the closure on this day. I traveled 50-minutes to this restaurant to meet with a friend and we were both very disappointed by this negligence.
Always grateful to be healthy #gratitude
Tables left unattended for expended amounts of time. Lots of waiting.
It is located in an interesting place - ambience struggles against a very clinical decor. The food is very tasty but expensive. A very L.A. experience and enjoyable.
LOVE this place. (ALthough, the next night i ordered food for the Hollywood Bowl. Food was great as always but the PU got a bit confused. I will call to confirm next time.
Service was great! Food was great! Absolutely loved it. I love the way the menu is set up to speak in positive affirmations. Definitely recommend people to go at least once if they're ever in the area.
