Excellent food & awesome service! Shavonne was our server & we enjoyed her very much!
You get one chance to make a first impression and I was very disappointed after just one visit. Our server was beyond rude and he seemed to forget everything that I requested for my order. It was such a disappointment especially with the restaurant being so beautiful! What a waste
Interesting dinner made reservations for patio seating to listen to the live music in the gazebo next door server was friendly good was pretty good not many people in the restaurant and dinners did not come out together but when my friend requested a third glass of wine she was refused server felt she had too much we were all about taken aback when it came time to pay the bill my husband went inside to mention how odd this was the bartender came out from behind the bar and got up close to my hub and telling him he shouldn’t swear really handled poorly too bad they could not accept some feedback regarding service my husband did get frustrated with the staff and said he thought this was bulls$it which was the swearing I think so end of story we will NOT be back
This was our second visit to Cafe Grace. The food was very good, almost excellent but we had forgotten about the richness of all the butter chef uses in his cooking. We chose an amazing white wine from the Alsace region of France to start. It was wonderful. The cheese platter (from the dessert menu but we ordered as an app) was Wisconsin cheddar curds (yes, we giggled), more thinly sliced pieces of the restaurant’s tasty baguette(!), thinly sliced Granny Smith apple and a very delicious and unique strawberry-pineapple preserves. We were not in a rush and our server honored that, but forgot my husband’s second glass of the fabulous white. Hmmm. I ordered the Duck Confit and it was awesome. The accompanying sides were super-tasty, but VERY BUTTERY, as were my crispy Brussels sprouts. Hubby enjoyed the roasted sirloin. We remembered after ordering that one side of the sprouts would have been enough but brought them home.
My husband had the Coupe de Glace for dessert and I ordered the sorbet. He raved about that hot fudge sundae, my choice was so-so. The coffee we ordered never showed up. The server forgot that, too, and apologized for the double oops as we were paying the bill. Overall, good but the mix-ups with the server kept the experience from being great.
We went to Cafe Grace for lunch. I had the grilled chicken sandwich. It was very good as was the salad I chose to go with it. They also serve Valentines Coffee which was really good. For dessert I had the warm chocolate cake with vanilla custard. Very rich!
The service was great. Our waiter was friendly and answered all our questions about the menu. He checked on us an appropriate number of times and always made sure our drinks and water were filled.
The cafe itself was larger than I thought it would be and had some out door seating. The setting was french quaint.
All in all it was a great lunch!
Awesome food and dinning experience! Will be back!
My friend & I chose Cafe Grace for a fun, relaxing luncheon visit. We both love seafood & i especially was keen to try either the oysters or mussels. This was our 1st time here & we were absolutely delighted. Excellent food, service & atmosphere - we agree it’s now a favorite of ours & we’ll go back soon!
First, our server was OUTSTANDING! her name was Shavonne. Very nice. The establishment is very Posh looking. Loved the look. My husband ordered the soup, the cheese was alot of cheese :-) it was hot, but the base if the soup was Luke warm, but still great taste. He also ordered the filet dinner (med rare, it came med well. The flavor if the steak was good and it was still tender. The veggies and mashed potatoes that accompany it had great flavor. I ordered the seared scallops which were very good. The brussel sprouts that come with/on it were still quite raw. The grits and cranberries that were with this combo were very good. I would reccomend the Rose Sangria, not sweet and very refreshing. For desserts I do reccomend the Coupe De Glace. I had the Creme Brulee which is my fav, but I did not care for this one. We actually purchased a Groupon for our visit here. I recommend trying this place for sure. We will try one more time at least :-)
Food was terrible. We ordered steak which was so tough we were unable to finish it. Ambiance and service were good. Seriously think they have to upgrade the menu.
Really nice dining room, nice variety for beverage offerings, definitely a gem for the area..
Great place to meet old friends for lunch and catching up. They allowed us to stay and talk long after the meal was over and even after the place was closed. We had to ask about when is was closing. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Great lunch food including the Mussels and Salmon BLT.
First visit to Cafe Grace. Took a friend for lunch to celebrate her birthday. Waitstaff was wonderful and gave us excellent recommendations off the menu. The salmon BLT and the chicken breast sandwich were excellent. Will be returning to try the dinner menu.
Five of us met for lunch on a Saturday at 1pm - I had a reservation but it wasn't necessary. We started with cocktails - Rose Sangria, which was ok and overpriced at $10. We ordered an omelet, a salmon BLT, a burger, a root salad w/ chicken and steak tartare. The orders came over several minutes - with sides and a request for salt & pepper taking several minutes more. They were'n't crowded so I'm not sure why the service was so sporadic. We all agreed our food was fine - nothing special. Our waiter would disappear for for long periods. I've experienced this on other visits so it appears to be their normal. I wondered if they were serving at the other restaurants in the building - they are all operated by the same company.
Great service and food. Feels like a true French bistro. Hear Sunday brunch is great. We love the French onion soup!
Still great. Hoping French menu stays, not change to one more italian joint.
As long as we have a different server next time. One who acts like he enjoys his job.
They have a great menu for happy hour with discounted drinks, appetizers, and sandwiches. For dinner we ordered the sirloin, scallops, steak tartar, and burger all were delicious. Appetizers we had were the mussels, mushroom toast ( this was our favorite) and french onion soup. Dessert we ored the chocate cake and cheese cake both were good. Favorite cocktail was the cherry mule.
The location is a little hard to find. Parking is free. After locating the restaurant in a sprawling shopping area, lunch with a friend was outstanding.
Our food was excellant & our server was personable and did a perfect job!
The service was great! Shavonne took excellent care of our table of eight and made sure our drinks were kept full and our food served piping hot. Sunday brunch was a great value and we’ll be back for sure.
Early Father’s Day Dinner!
OUR SERVER, MARISSA WAS THE BEST! PROFESSIONAL, EXPEDIENT AND SWEET!
THE FOOD WAS DELICIOUS AS USUAL...ANOTHER GREAT MEAL!
We've been for brunch a few times and it's always great. The service is okay. Usually the waiter is slow to greet you once you arrive at your table, but for brunch it's not a huge deal since they only bring one portion of your meal and clear your plates. This last time we went we found out they recently took their smoked salmon off of the brunch table menu. This has not been updated on the website and was very disappointing since that's my favorite part of the brunch!
Lovely brunch; a group of six were celebrating a 95th birthday. Hostess was young and lacking the proper etiquette; was pointing and calling my husband and I 'guys'. Not something you call a man and woman in their late 60's! Had to ask the waiter to take drink orders before taking our food order, but over all we would return.
Something a little different and nicer in the area...great food and service. I had the scallops and they were amazing! Must try!
Friend’s Birthday. The only trouble and disappointment was the extensive time it took to receive the food. The desert took so long I had to skip eating 1/2 of it to get back to work on time for a 3:00 meeting. Chavonne (sp?) was lovely.
I come here often because I love the brunch special. This event was special because my brother, and his new family were visiting from out of town. I asked to be served by Shavonne, who was my server last weekend, because she was just so amazing and considerate. And after this last visit, she has achieved a ranking in my book as my new favorite server in all Milwaukee. My brother and his wife were absolutely blown away at the level of care she delivered.
For example, making sure to have their dishes placed on plates that were not warmed, to avoid any safety issues should their newborn reach for them. Apologizing to my 7 year old niece for interrupting her when she checked in us to see if we needed anything. Noticing right away that my brother's eggs Benedict was a little overcooked, and immediately went to the kitchen to bring him a fresh one; he didn't even say anything about the done-ness. This is a short list of all the awesome considerations that Shavonne delivered.
This girl is on point. Can't wait for my next meal with her. Thanks Shavonne for being so incredibly awesome!!!
Four scallops are not a sufficient portion for a $30.00 price point.
Also, we had a coupon for a BOGO with no amount stated and all we received was $5.00 fries? False advertising....
Very good value for a very good brunch!
Our waiter Jeff was horrible rarely came around to see if we needed anything when we ordered drinks we were lucky to get it. I would walk out if he was our server again. I had the croque something it wasn’t very warm and the bread was hard so you could tell it sat to long. This was my third visit but first brunch, the dinners were very good and that’s why we came back. I wanted to leave no tip but was out voted. We did leave 14% but we normally leave at least 20%. I’m not saying he needs to go but someone needs to work with him.
We went for brunch with another couple and we all agreed that we would definitely go back!! Very nice!
Service was slow, food very good. Nice Happy Hour specials.
Bonne appetite ici! Service, exemplar. French vibe apparent!
First time at this restaurant and our waiter was very friendly and attentive. I had the scallops which were delicious. I would definitely return.
We had a very nice experience. The food and drink was excellent, service very good. It made for a wonderful Mother's Day!
Mother's Day is a tough day to eat out, every restaurant is crazy. There was a mix up with our table so it took a bit to get seated even though we had a reservation. Our server, Chavonne, was OUTSTANDING. The food was good, but not the best I've had there. Three of the people in my group ordered Eggs Benedict, which they have had there before and all three of them had hard yolks. A bit disappointing. But my experience wouldn't keep me from going back - maybe just not on Mother's Day.
Didn’t mind the Price Fix menu. Food was good not remarkable. What I had a problem with was I had 4 pieces of French toast and my son had 2 leftover and the waiter didn’t offer to wrap it up. Had the bottomless mimosas no offer of a refill and my husband’s water also was never refilled. Then had to wait an inordinate amount of time to pay the large bill for what I felt was a lackluster experience.
The restaurant was nice however the Chicken was extremely dry and they gave you very little sauce. I would never order that again. The bread was delicious but they only served one piece per person and had a small amount of butter on the table. They immediately removed our bread plates and the butter before we were barely finished. I guess they didn't want us to ask for more bread. The fish was very tasty and the filet was also good. The server was nice but not overly attentive. The restaurant was a little pricey but to be expected for a French restaurant.
My chicken was overdone in my salad. This was the second time that I have made a reservation for a birthday for a friend and we get absolutely nothing. The server is polite but, service is slow.
We enjoy brunch here very much. I had to knock them down to a four this time though as they did not get my reservation right (I was there, my friend paid and they didn't acknowledge that I had a reservation, creating confusion with Open Table).
A minor thing really, but asking about reservations should be automatic.
As usual the food, ambience and service were top rate!
