Café Gauguin at Rosen Centre
The brunch was great however the fee listed in open table was 47.95 and we were charged 49.99. Plus we split bill in two and they charged us twice for service fee.
We have been to the Christmas brunch in previous years and felt the quality of the food and especially the service was poor this year. I doubt we will go back.
As always, we had a wonderful experience. My special rquest for a booth was granted, the food was great and our server was exceptional! We always do most holidays at the Rosen.
Went for Christmas bruch and similar to others found the cost higher than advertised. We were in noisy overflow seating in the Everglades restaurant. Despite 2 assigned waitstaff service was slow . Food selections were uninspired and quality was average. The "pasta bar" had only 1 pasta on it. In addition to poor atmosphere and dining experience we now have mysterious additional credit card charges from the restaurant. Would definitely not recommend to resident or tourist, as it seems that their priority is packing in maximum people for maximum profit.
Great food and great friendly service. I appreciated people working on Xmas day for my benefit
Asked for quiet seating area next door in Everglades in advance. Seated us exactly where we didn't want to be which was in the noisy main dining area. Service was non-existent. Think we got served once or twice with mimosas. Never saw server. Claimed she was working entire restaurant. Tables too close together. Barely able to leave table to get to serving area. There is never any bread to be found in dining area. Only bread is in breakfast area and that's croissants. Best food was Yukon potatoes and Prime Rib. Turkey in buffet area was not tasty at all. Best area of all are the dessert areas.
All members of the party enjoyed food. They kept all food stations filled, hot and available during our dining time. Many on stage cooking areas. Seating was tight as it seemed they made room for additional buffets tables for the holiday spread. so guests around us were making comments on that. Staff were friendly working hard and in good spirits.
Our reservations were for 12PM and we were promptly escorted to our table at' 1201 (after checking in at the area set up "prepaid" only). Very organized with sufficient amount of workers! Free Mimosas & hors d'oeuvres were available while waiting to be seated, as well. The service was wonderful and the food was abundant and oh so delicious! The servers made sure to explain (since we were first times) everything we needed to know about the buffet!
We had Christmas Brunch. The food and the staff were both wonderful. This was probably the best brunch I’ve ever had.
The selection for the Christmas brunch was outstanding. The dark meat turkey was perhaps the best I have ever had. The staff was friendly, and the manager was very personable. We loved it!!!
While the food and service were very good, I was hit with an $18 “service fee” that was undisclosed when I priced the Christmas buffet. That left a sour taste in my mouth.
First time. Will request round table seating for 10 next time as round table seating is more intimate.
Food was ok, i was expecting a more tradicional thanksgiving menú. Some Food taste bad. Too expensive for what we received, the waiters started to remove everything and we have made the reservation for 6.30 pm. At 7.30 they started to move all
The food for the Thanksgiving buffet was great!! Loved paying first and just being able to leave when we were down. The wait staff was very friendly and were always smiling. We came from Minnesota and it was so worth it!
We go every year for Thanksgiving. This year, my father has been very ill, and Stan our server took amazing care of all of us, but especially my dad, as he had to stay at the table.
Great Thanksgiving meal!
Great thanksgiving buffet with plenty of choices and well organised
The Thanksgiving Dinner was truly a feast. I have never seen so many beautifully prepared foods in one place. Service was great and we will definitely dine again at The Cafe Gauguin on our next trip to Orlando.
Thanksgiving buffet was very enjoyable! Great food and a very nice atmosphere. Had some nice options for those vegetarian/vegans. Might be nice to have a small sign that says vegetarian or vegan friendly. Dined with meat eaters who mentioned the turkey dinner was fabulous! Look forward to another holiday buffet. Thank you Rosen!
Thanksgiving buffet was outstanding. This is our 2nd year coming. We are all pleased.
the service was out of this world. However the stone crab claws were frozen and shat when trying to open them. the carving station was stingy on the turkey breast. I was surprise no green vegetables and a overload of seafood. this was supposed to be thanks giving. the children foods was great for my godson. The only thing that was perfect was the deserts but again no pumpkin pie
The service and food for the Thanksgiving Brunch were excellent. The assortment of salads, entrees, and desserts were outstanding. All the food was prepared very well. My only disappointment was that no corn of any type was offered as a side dish. Friendly staff. Clean facility. The ambiance of the main area is very nice. The wait staff was prompt, efficient and attentive. The free valet parking is a valued plus for this venue. This was the third time we attended this event and will definitely return. We enjoyed our Thanksgiving meal very much!
Thanksgiving buffet was outstanding. Everything was spread out so no lines really. Each section was delicious.
Excellent service, ok value appricate the interaction with one of the managers
Would highly recommend the food was fabulous. Staff was very accommodating. Would definitely go back. That said I went for Thanksgiving buffet and seating /hostess situation was very disorganized and with the loudness at the entrance it was difficult to hear when my name was called. I had prepaid and there should have been a separate and distinct entrance for those who prepaid and those looking for last minute seating. When I thought my name was called I stepped ahead to hand in my appointment card and the hostess said yes and took it at that point a very nasty woman nearly accosted me thinking I had jumped the line it was quite a nasty situation. The Mimosa helped. Again that was a minor glitch that didn't sour my holiday.
This rating could have easily been a 5 however the check-in experience before getting sat at the table and the customer service in the front was terrible, several customers were complaining about how they were being treated and when we approached the cashier to pay they didn’t even say good morning they didn’t explain what the process was to be seated.
However once we were seated in the restaurant the service was perfect and the food was great. We attended to Thanksgiving brunch.
We go to most of their Easter and Thanksgiving brunches. They are excellent, as I noted above.
Everything is excellent, but the dessert tables, especially some liquor petit fours, are superb!!!
Service is always paying attention to your needs and your drink is poured constantly.
The Rosen Center is great!!
Smiling staff, excellent server Yamilet (Thank you)!
Buffet was set up nicely, love the fresh salad bar and the cheese bar!
Very good food choices although limited.
Overall, our family enjoyed our dinner buffet dining experience in Cafe Gauguin! Would be back 😊
Very enjoyable always has been and look forward to it every year
Service is always stellar. We went for Mother's Day Brunch, and Cafe Gauguin had a vast selection of food items ranging from eggs Benedict to beef tips to flourless chocolate cake.
Only problem was check-in. There was a sign for brunch check-in facing the opposite direction from the lobby, so we walked past it. We went to the front desk of the restaurant, only to be told to walk back the 50 feet or so to check-in at a table with a lone woman sitting at it. She took our name, then directed us to walked down the stairs to pre-pay for our brunch. Then back up to the restaurant's front desk again. Whoever recommended this set-up didn't think it through because it was a cluster.
Free valet for people attending holiday brunch. Great value for such good food and service. Just beware the check-in process. Yuck
We celebrate Mothers Day at Café Gauguin at Rosen Centre every year, it is a special day day for our family. My mom feels so special and treasured with the fabulous food, service and champagne.
Good variety on the breakfast buffet. Fresh fruits and clean foods.
The food was terrific. The service was a bit slow but expected for the Easter brunch.
I took my 17-year-old son here for Easter brunch as a special treat and indeed it was! We felt like we were on vacation, even on a fancy cruise. There were so many meals and combinations to choose from. We loved looking at the pool after dinner as well. The staff was great. The food fantastic, and we will never forget this special brunch. We will be back for sure! Highly recommended. Thanks to those who served us for a wonderful, wonderful Easter brunch!
Made a reservaiton for Easter Brunch and it was well worth the price and value for the food! High end buffet with something for everyone! We have a really nice time, the wait staff was amazing and we are super excited to go back again next year!
Something for everyone
The six of us were there to celebrate Christmas and enjoy the holiday buffet. There were many salad /antipasto items. As well as a good selection of deserts. The main course / entree was limited to ham, turkey, pasta or the usual breakfast items. I don’t feel the entree selection was sufficient for the high price of this buffet. This restaurant was overly staffed with many people standing around with a few servers actually tending to patrons. The servers that tended us were pleasant but the other workers did not even have a smile for us. We have eaten at other buffets including other Rosen facilities and this was the least favorable. We will not be back.
It was ok. Just ok. Too crowded though. Most of the little neck clams were empty.
We went for the Christmas dinner buffet. The food was delicious and well worth the value. The part we did not care for was the service. We had to ask repeatedly for extra napkins and other table items. One chair had exposed wire underneath the seat that cut one member of our party's hand. Our server never mentioned there was an upcharge for wine and at the end of the meal served up a 40.00 tab for 2 glasses of wine.
My family and I were here for a special occasion, Christmas. We were all very happy with the many buffet offerings. There was food for the pickiest of eaters and for those of us that like to try new and interesting dishes. It was well worth the drive to eat here and not have to cook ourselves. We will definitely be back next year!
