Cafe Frida - Columbus Ave
Our knowledge and passion for the tequila culture has been awarded by the Tequila Regulatory Council of Mexico since 2006, making us one of the few restaurants in the world of having such honor.
Come and enjoy the warmth of Mexico!
Love the steak!
Good food. Yummy drinks
A regular neighborhood spot, with great food, service and value. Can get a bit noisy when there’s a full house. Two his/her restrooms that at spotless. One of my favs!
Terrific experience all around! Delicious fajitas and wonderful service!
Great guacamole and huevos rancheros! Cute vibe and reasonable prices
Not enough effort was made to authenticate its cuisine..i had a corn pancake for brunch..It was horrible..it looked like they opened a can of cream of corn and mixed. It with pancake batter...horribld
The food is always good. We've eaten here a number of times and have always had a wonderful time. The service is attentive but not intrusive. The tables by the windows offer a great opportunity for people watching.
It was great for brunch. Lot of choices on the menu--eggs and mexican items. Everything was quite tasty. Fun place.
The best. Love it.
Cafe Frida is awesome! Great food and drinks. Superb service!
If you oin the UWS and craving mexican this is the place. Its usually crowded so either make a reservation or be prepared to sit at the bar and have great cocktails or flights and expand your knowledge of tequila and mezcal. You can't go wrong with the guacamole . We had tacos. Both the carne asada and the pork were very well prepared. Will definitely return.
I have been coming here for years. Food is always delicious & the service is amazing.
Great for casual Friday evening. Food is always terrific and the ceviche is so fresh and tasty!
My favorite UWS Mexican Restaurant.
This is the real thing in Mexican cuisine.
Every single thing you order is delicious and their cocktails are prepared perfectly. My choice:
Their “Mojito Cocktails”... of course prepared with rum.
Terrible quesadillas. Fajitas had too much sauce. Guacamole was good. Nice people. Bad Mexican food. Not sure what happened. I’ve eaten there before and it was much better.
The restaurant could not see my reservation upon arrival.
Across the street from the American Museum of Natural History.
Ambience, good service, strong drinks. Food is uninteresting, varied from a too spicy Aztec soup to very bland pork tacos and chicken mole. Adding pick di gallo made the tacos horribly hot. Every couple of years we eat here and we always swear never to come back. Guess we are slow learners.
Delicious Mexican On Upper West Side. We had a great meal. I was not expecting such good food. Guacamole and tacos were great. Everything was fresh and flavorful!
Hands down our favorite neighborhood Mexican restaurant - great great delicious food always! (Tampiquena, guacamole and carne asada tacos). Service is THE BEST - we love Alex :). Never ever disappointing!
Try the Ceviche! Always a favorite of mine and comes with a lot of other great selections.
Okay place with expensive prices for small quantities and decent quality.
Fish taco sauce could b better service so so he forgot appetizer
Best authentic Mexican Restaurant in the City.
Service is outstanding
Food is ok
The food here was just OK, which is disappointing given the prices, which are steep for non-gourmet Mexican fare. The fajitas were particularly pricey and were disappointing with chicken that tasted steamed instead of grilled. Even the margaritas were less than delicious. Overall, this place is not terrible but also not great, and certainly not worth the price.
Great food delicious cocktails and good service! Outstanding guacamole, cheese w chorizo and pork special all outstanding
Some of the best Mexican food I've had. Hands down.
Great food. Amazing service. Good music. Truly a wonderful place for a dinner out!
We ate here before we did Night at the Museum at the American Museum of Natural History, across the street. They were very accommodating and friendly, quick to serve us as we had limited time, and the food was delicious! Flavorful and perfectly portioned.
Amazing food, and our waitress was super helpful and added lots of details about the food = we all wished we had room for more!
The food was great, service from our waiter was bare minimum. He always seemed in a rush and to get his attention was impossible
The portions were a little small of man sized appetites, and I felt as though the tortillas were a little stale at our last visit... but on the whole, the food is just fine. I do love it as a neighborhood gem
Cafe Frida’s OpenTable advertised a ‘special’ in which you could reserve happy hour tables. Total bait and switch. When we arrived our table was waiting but informed us that happy hour was strictly only available at the bar (which was packed). I asked why they didnt reserve us 4 seats there instead and they said there are no reservations at the bar. I showed them on my phone how that was specifically not true on their open Table page and that feature was exactly what suckered me into their restaurant. they shrugged at me.
Food was ok. Place was fun enough, but horrible, unethical business practices.
Cafe Frida highly recommended! We go there every time we are in NYC. Service and food continue to be great. Best Pastel de Tres leches in the East Coast : ), same for Enchiladas Rojas and tortillas!
The food was authentic and wonderful. Staff was great and friendly - we went with our 3 small kids and they were super helpful and kind. Awesome margaritas too!
Solid meal. Delicious Guacamole! Would reccomend to a friend.
I love this place. The food is really good and the drinks are great. It is also kid friendly.
