Great place for any occasion.
It is too bad that Open Table completely dropped the ball such that when I arrived at the restaurant--with my printed Open Table reservation in hand--they had no record of it, even though we had spoken to the restaurant on several occasions, so it was not the restaurant's problem.
Open Table = awful.
It was a good relaxing atmosphere and the food is always amazing.
Always incredible! I've ordered several items through the years and everything is always amazing. You can't go wrong! Fresh ingredients.
The food was excellent but small portions for the prices. Service was slow.
Great service. Tasty food. The shrimp over polenta appetizer was amazing. Great flavor combination. We sat near kitchen so we could talk with chef. Absolutely amazing and fun time.
Food and Frank Sinatra styled singer were great. I wish you bring back original dessert Panna Cota with balsamic drizzle. New desserts not that great.
Really great food and service year after year. Only complaint is when it gets busy it can get loud, especially with the live music. Really great Resturant, food is consistently excellent, as is the service. Favorite resturant!
We showed up with reservations, got forgotten about. Then when seated we asked for bread but never got it. When the food came both pasta dishes were under cooked. My husband told the waitress and she took it back but then when it came out all they did was reheated it which made the seafood overcooked and the pasta still was undercooked. We were very disappointed because we only get a few date nights with out kids. And we have been here in the past and only had good things to say so this was a disappointment
We were sat 10 minutes past our reservation and given the run around from the hostess. Food was amazing but we didn’t love the policy they have of ordering your entire meal at once. Our meal was served and eaten within 45 minutes which makes for a quick turn around when we would have loved to elongate the evening. Since we loved the food we would likely do take-out from here but probably not dine-in again.
Went for my wife's birthday. We were seated in a patio area that could have served as their freezer. Heaters provided no heat and people were moving from table to table trying to get close to the decorative fire pit. No one should have been seated in this area unless they were polar bears.
Management told me that they were aware of the problem with the cold in patio area. As I told them them knowing and not doing anything about the problem did not really help me much. Had I been the manager of the place I would have gone to a restaurant supply place and rented a few of those heaters we all know about and put those in place until the issue could have been permanently solved down the line. This is what management does when they are told multiple times of their customers having a problem.
Food was good for myself and my daughter. The birthday girl however got an initial pasta dish that was like eating a bicycle tire. She sent that back only to get a new dish that proclaimed it was pasta with crab and asparagus. Please note the "with" as the manager explained to me. With needs a further explanation for if "with" is less than one spear of asparagus I guess that would apply. "With" crab would only qualify, if you consider a teaspoon of flaked crab as meeting the requirement for "with". Basically this was pasta with lemon sauce. Considering this place is owned by a participant from the "Top Chef" show I would have loved to see those judges try out my wife's food. He would have had to "pack his knives and go" as they say on the show.
The waiter was fantastic, very apologetic, owned the problem as his own even though he was not the cook (note I say cook and not chef). Very nice and considerate man. Management however did not want to own the problem as he did.
I was given a $50 gift card for for giving my feedback. I'm not sure if we will ever be back though considering we drove 43.7 miles for this wonderful experience.
We had high hopes for this restaurant after seeing other posts, but it turned out to be, meh. The restaurant has wonderful ambience especially considering the enormity of the dining area. The service was good as was the live music from the gentleman playing smooth jazz.
Unfortunately, the food was mediocre. It wasn't bard, but for the price, I truly expected better. I ordered a side of fettuccine Bolognese and the Osso Buco. The Bolognese sauce had far too much tomato paste making it almost bitter. The Osso Buco was just O.K. Definitely not anything worth offering a second time. Overall just a blah experience. Probably won't be returning.
Consistently the best restaurant around. Everything is always fantastic.
Great food and amazing service. Our sever didn’t write down any of the six of our food choices. She had each of us served perfectly with not one mistake! She was amazing!!!
First time here. I ordered the Osso Buco and it was oh so delicious! We will definitely be coming here again.
We had a great table in the kitchen seating area right in the middle of the action. Clearly, the spot to be in this foodie destination. As always, the food was delicious and the ambiance was lively and exciting.
They were busy and they kept saying they were setting up our table but it took over 45 minutes to seat us. And they ran out of steak and chicken at 7:00. Strange. We were seated outside where the cold air came through the bottom of the curtains. We had a fun night but as the best restaurant in Moorpark it left a little to be desired. I think next time we will drive a little.
THE FOOD WAS GREAT. MOST IMPORTANT, OUR TABLE WAS READY FOR OUR RESERVATION. MELISSA DID A GREAT JOB GETTING US OUT IN TIME FOR THEATER. THE BACK ROOM WAS A GREAT PLACE TO EAT AND TALK.
We did not have a good experience, mine and my wife's food were both very salty, and the noise level where we were sitting was very loud, the place looks nice from the outside, but not a good experience inside
BEEN HERE A FEW TIMES AND NEVER DISAPPOINTED. THE GNOCCHI IS TO DIE FOR, BEST IVE EVER EATEN IN THE WORLD.....YES EVEN ITALY!! MY HUBBY GOT THE PORK TENDERLOIN, DIDNT KNOW PORK COULD BE SO TENDER AND DELICIOUS. OUR WAITER, PETER,(PIETRO) WAS THE BEST! OTTIMO!!!! WE WILL BE ASKING FOR HIM NEXT TIME. GREAT FOOD IN CASE YOU DIDNT GET THAT....EH
Food was delicious
Have been there many times, however, being placed outside with Costco plastic tables, heaters and a waitress with too many table to provide decent service was a joke. We will definitely rethink where to take out of town guests in Friday nights in the area!!
Our waitress was very attentive. My salmon was delicious but the rice under it was very salty.
A bit over priced.
The food was very good but not one of the 10 - 12 "best Italian" in the USA as portrayed by one of the TV food networks.
Everyone was happy with their meals. Service was a bit off but not bad.
I have eaten here several times before however I will not be back. Upon arrival our party of four was ushered to a covered back patio which has none of the inside ambiance. Then we were informed there was a 'limited menu' on a Saturday night which disappointing also and I felt we should have been told that when making our reservation. My wife returned her fish dish due to a strange taste and my chicken masala consisted on one mushroom in a white cream sauce! Drinks at the bar later were excellent, props to the bartender.
My husband and I had an enjoyable experience at Cafe Firenze. The cocktails were delicious and the food was quite good as well. The only negative was that the hosts were a little confused, and the decor could be updated.
Amazing food and great service!
We went to this restaurant for my birthday/Valentine’s Day and I I thought this restaurant is highly overrated considering it took us 45 minutes to get our first drinks and breads. and it took another 30 minutes to get our entrées and we never got our salads or soups so we had to cancel the starters and waiter did not say sorry or anything.
We ordered the short rib and a seafood pasta dish. The short rib tasted similar to a beef stew meet that had been slow cooked in a crock pot and then heavily sauced. Not a lot of flavor in the meat itself. The seafood pasta tasted a lot like clam juice... my date was not feeling well about 3 hours after we left. The ambiance in the restaurant was very good but the furniture was worn out. Our chairs padding was shot and your butt sank down until your hips hit the sides of the chair uncomfortably.
The food and service are always impeccable! Even on a super busy Valentine's Day night, the food was delicious and prepared perfectly! One of our favorite places!
I had the ORECCHIETTE. It was light on the crab (sheared) and barely visible on the plate. The shells were undercooked and the lemon over powered everything.
Forgot to give us bread. We’ve had better.
Excellent authentic Italian food. Creative dishes, all food was fresh, flavorful and served hot. Extensive wine list. Beautiful and comfortable atmosphere.
Very poor food. I was surprised that this place would serve something so bad. I had chicken marsala which was supposed to come with risotto.—-No risotto but cold mashed potatoes. Marsala was a cream sauce (no mush rooms) on strips if partially cooked cold chicken. What is going on in the kitchen? Was the usual chef I’ll?
While I have been to this restaurant numerous times and have always had a a good experience, last night was NOT one of them. Service was TERRIBLE. After ordering it took close to 2 HOURS for our food to arrive. The waitress said, "sorry there are lots of problems in the kitchen". Finally, food came for 4 of our 6 guests and then another 10 minutes for the final two meals. During this long wait, we barely saw the waitress, she never offered to bring more bread, get us a drink or dessert for the inconvenience. When salads arrived no offer for pepper on the salads. When the pasta came, no offer for parmesan cheese. I had to ask three times for the cheese.
I had the Osso Bucco, normally a large hearty meal. However, this was barely an appetizer. The plate had 3 small shanks, with the bones being bigger than the actual meat. Each bone had maybe two bites of meat on it. For $29, very disappointing.
We were there for close to 3 hours. The manager never came by to apologize, nothing.
I will not be going back.
The service was extremely slow. We waited at least 20 mins for a Caesar salad and another half hour for food. When we ordered we told the server we had to leave at 7:30. Our food arrived at 7:25 so we barely had time to eat it. It was very noisy. We won't be back.
We have been to Firenza many times over the years and this unfortunately, this was our worst experience. Outrwaiter was delightful, however, he was only our waiter for a short time, in the middle of our service, he had to go in the kitchen to cook because they were "backed up" and "slammed". Hard to believe because the restaurant wasn't full. When we started to give our order several of us were planning on having Salmon, however, they were out of Salmon and this was for a 6:30 reservation. Really? Out of the most popular fish by 7 PM on a Saturday night.
By the time we were served our main courses we were starving, again, took a long time because our server had to go cook our dinners! Very disappointing evening. We will most likely go back, but it certainly won't be for while. Not sure of what the issues were, but really not acceptable for a well known restaurant with a famous Top Chef name behind it.
We arrived for our 6:30 Saturday dinner reservation. We were originally seated in a back corner in a tent like enclosure near a back service entrance. Very drafty. They attempted to fix but we moved ourselves to another table after waiting for the hostess for 5 minutes. There was nothing resembling ambiance anywhere in the enclosure.
They mistakenly attempted to bring us a second round of appetizers. We had to wait for our main courses for nearly 30 minutes after we finished our appetizers.
Food was good. Server was nice enough. But the overall experience was such that I will not return or recommend.
One of the best spots in the area for a better than average meal. A little pricey, but the food makes up for it.
