Food was good my rigatoni wasn't really cooked too good it was little hard should of cooked longer, and food is pricey
My friend and I came to Cafe Firenze for my friends birthday. Our lunch was delicious! Our waitress Stacy was very helpful and answered all of our questions regarding the menu! It was a very good experience and we can’t wait to come back!
Great evening, attended 36th Camarillo Rotary Magic Show at High Street theater, dinner at Cafe Firenze afterwards.....excelent! Our server Peter was great and food excelent. We will be back!
We had another great experience at Café Firenze. We were celebrating four friends birthdays. Our waiter Peter was helpful attentive and fun. Our food was delicious as always. We will be back soon.
Amazing food and great service. The staff was friendly
It was a great date night place it wasn’t rushed or pushed it was great food and a good time. Great drinks as well.
My birthday and my sons 30th birthday. Food was delicious , service was great!
I have eaten at Firenze many times, but never on the covered patio. With the weather being cold the patio heaters are key to keeping guests dining on the covered patio comfortable and happy. The overhead heaters kept turning off and our table patio heater ran out of gas. We were very uncomfortable because of the cold. The tables are packed so tight it was like a country club Easter buffet. The waiters were below average and the food was a very inconsistent. My steak was poor quality and generally unimpressive, unlike steaks I have had there in the past. My pancetta wrapped shrimp appetizer was over cooked and like rubber. That being said there was 2 out of the 6 in our party that really liked their meal. Honestly, the whole experience was unimpressive on this visit. Total bummer. I will try it again as I have had good experiences in the past but will not sit on the patio. Hopefully they will read this review and realize that they are falling off their game and get back to what made them successful in the first place.
My Girlfriend and I came out for a Saturday Night for our 1 year Anniversary as we have heard about Cafe Firenze for many months now and we were both eager to try it. The restaurant was BEAUTIFUL and the service was EXCELLENT, however the only thing that tasted alright was the Champagne. The Calamari was alright, but it was incredibly oily (maybe I am just picky?). Next, my girlfriend ordered the Sausage gnocchi and I had the Coffee Steak special and we were blown away how awful the food was for a restaurant that's image resembles a fine dining experience.
Her Gnocchi was served cold but even worse, the gnocchi began to fall apart? I have never experienced gnocchi to be like that. Otherwise, it was very bland and Olive Garden's Gnocchi is more fresh and exciting. As for my Coffee Rubbed steak special, I asked for it Medium rare and it arrived Cold and incredibly undercooked. The Rose pedal garnish that accompanied my dish was incredibly decadent and gaudy, and the mashed potatoes were Cold and not helping either. We were originally considering ordering additional drinks and tiramisu but after that course, our goal was to just leave and go to Baskin Robin's next door for some ice cream.
To take away from my experience, I hope the management does something about what is going on in the kitchen, the restaurant is beautiful and your service staff were incredible, but the food DOES NOT MAKE ME WANT TO COME BACK.
TL;DR- Nice looking restaurant, great staff, terrible food; Would only suggest going to the bar. (Liked the music as well)
Absolutely love this place. The quality of food and service is always outstanding!
Went for a nice dinner on Friday after a long week at work. Always good quality food and relaxing ambiance. Lucky to live in the vicinity and not to have to travel far to get an Italian food fix once in a while!!
Our server was very rude. One of our group was collecting her wine club bottles to drink with our meal, and after that our server disappeared. We had to flag her down to take our appetizer order. She was rude again, and we were thinking of ordering entrees, but we decided not to stay for dinner. The waiter who filled our waters stopped by more than our actual server. Her demeanor was dismissive, and we were quite disappointed to be treated this way.
We love going to Cafe Firenze! Great food and nice ambiance with excellent service
The food was delicious and the service was fantastic. My only suggestion would be to turn the volume down for the live music maybe 2 clicks. IT wasn't bad once we were seated but you had to yell over it to the front desk and bar tender. LOVE this spot
Cafe Firenze is consistently good. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, especially the special appetizer of fresh ricotta with truffle honey and hazelnuts. Service is impeccable.
food and atmospher were perfect for a birthday surprise
We absolutely love the food here. Service is always amazing. Beautiful decor. Never have to wait to be seated. Only one downside this time they were out of a menu item my husband wanted to order. We will be back though!!!!
Wait staff very attentive without hovering. Food was very good and we were not hurried. A good experience overall.
They were very busy but also very accommodating! We have very minimal wait time till we were seated. The food was delicious, the staff was friendly and professional, and the live music was a special plus.
Service was wonderful. Food was delicious with a couple of standout items. However the standouts were the sides, the very expensive steak was quite good but not $80 good. Would stick to the pasta dishes next time. The creme brûlée was spectacular as was the bread and the pumpkin gorgonzola mashed potatoes were to die for.
Drinks were very good but very small and medium to highly priced. The cost of the entrees was very high compared to other notable restaurants but the place in general is not that high end so the pricing didn't reflect what a restaurant in an out of the way place like Moorpark should be. The entree in this case was chicken scaloppini and it was just fine. little in the way of special for $27.00. that is extremely high for a chicken dinner with nothing other than mashed potatoes. Again, this is Moorpark..
The bread was good but would have been great if it had been warm.
It came with Olive oil to dip in but no Balsalmic. It was also surprising to see the menu which was fairly limited, was laid out in the traditional Italian style of separating the salad, pasta, entree etc for purchase. We did not order the other items as this would have made an already expensive dinner, out of the question for two people to have salad, pasta or appetizer and entree with a drink.
Excellent venue, impeccable service, and exquisite food. 5/5
Happy hour was great! Service was excellent!
My experience at Cafe Firenze was good, but not memorable. I have no complaints with our service, other than that though I had mentioned several times when making my reservation that it would be my girlfriend's and my anniversary, it was never mentioned by our waitress. Much of the dinner menu and nearly all of the dessert menu was unavailable. The food was decent, but not good enough to warrant the exorbitant prices (not to mention the fact that my girlfriend's ravioli was stone cold). What left a sour taste in my mouth though was that we were charged $12 for table water. Very European, but not in a good way...
Our server was great, our food was great, but the fact that we were seated on the back patio on a cold evening, when I had made my reservation weeks in advance was very disappointing. Also, the hostess rolling her eyes at me when I complained about that fact and speaking rather sharply to me was unacceptable. My entire party witnessed it. My husband and I are wine club members at Café Firenze and visit the restaurant frequently. I was finally able to bring this group of friends from out of town to the restaurant and they didn’t receive a very good impression from the start. Our server did have us moved to a table that was closer to the fire pit and a bit warmer, however the inside of the restaurant is much more welcoming. Had I known there was a chance we would be seated outside, I would have made sure to request indoor seating when I made my reservation.
Birthday celebration. Food was exceptional and our service (waitress was exceptional too). No waiting
Only minor drawback was music/noise level was a bit louder than anticipated.
Just an amazing Restaurant and happy to be able to bring my fiancé and have a wonderful dinner celebrating Valentine’s Day and our anniversary. We will definitely be back and do the chefs table.
We had a dinner reservation at 8:15 on a Sat night. We were seated within 5 minutes as the table needed to be cleared and reset.
The food was excellent! The service was on top of things without "hovering".
The band was too loud. We were seated as far away as we could be and the band volume made it difficult to have conversation at a reasonable level. The band did stop round 9 PM or so but I would not choose to eat dinner that late in order to have a quieter environment.
Overall was very good, but it was a bit noisy for conversation at the table. The bar was very busy and very loud.
This is our favorite restaurant in Ventura County. We love the truffle wedge salad, calamari appetizer, pancetta-wrapped shrimp with polenta, short rib ravioli, pork chop and gnocchi, chicken scaloppini. The atmosphere is beautiful in several different dining rooms and on the outdoor patio. We've enjoyed the live music, cooking classes and specialty events like Oktoberfest.
Always a wonderful place to eat with family or friends. The food is outstanding
Always AMAZING!!! Recommend the Lemon Drop Martini and the braised short ribs! Also the port dish was outstanding. We'll be back sooN!!!
From the moment you walk thru the big double doors your greeted with a smile from the hostess, then the bartender greets you as you are escorted to your table, service was great, food was exceptional, looking forward to the next visit
Saturday night, slower than slow. Not enough wait staff. A real shame for this quality place
Nice atmosphere. Servers, bussers and hostess were all very pleasant. A couple of things. Server did not particularly know the menu, and was not very enthusiastic about the items we asked about. We were not at all sure the sole we ordered was actually sole. It was good, but very thick and large for sole. House salad was large, overdressed and not particularly interesting. First drink was bourbon on the rocks. Came in a very large glass, which made the shot look like it barely covered the bottom of the glass ... presentation is important if you're in that business.....Finally, we had an early dinner and felt VERY rushed to leave after an hour. Of course there were people waiting, but still...
The bread was wonderful, as was the cappuccino!!
Always a great choice.
Creative dishes- lots of complexity- great wood grill flavor- good service, thoroughly enjoyed our meal
Overall a solid Italian restaurant experience. Good food, good ambiance, good value, nice wine selection with a heavy emphasis on Italian wines. Comfortable setting with great patio. We had seasonal salad, Chicken Marsala, Ossobuco, and vanilla gelato. Salad was creative/good, chicken Marsala was excellent, and a very tasty Ossobuco, for desert vanilla gelato was one of the best I ever had - and I've had many over the years. We also had tiramisu it was very tasty, heavy on cream, not enough espresso/cake for my taste. Service was on the spot.
I've followed Fabio online for several years and tried many recipes - great!
This was my first time to his restaurant - I would go back and would recommend.
We have been to Cafe Firenze a number of times before. We had reservations for 7 and when seated the table was only set up for four. We were seated outside which was ok but not what we were used to and maybe that was the start of just a so so experience. The food was fair but not the great food that I remember from previous experiences. Kind of a bummer as we were there for my wife birthday and looking forward to a great experience.
