It was mainly the food. I just thought it was poor. Our waiter (who sings Opera and was amazing) said that people raved over the pizza - and I thought it was a step above pita pizza. The antipasto bar was kinda the same. I had no desire to finish my plate.
The service was wonderful, though! I don't know the name of the host that night, but he was very sweet and wanted us to have a nice table because it was our first time. And our waiter, as I mentioned, was amazing and answered all our questions and was just really friendly.
I would absolutely take people here for the ambiance/location, but not for a great meal.
Had a delicious meal. Branzino was grilled to perfection. Veal Milanese was also fantastic. My daughter and I had a delightful dinner.
I arrived for a pre-theater dinner, and those without reservations were being turned away. This is a popular pre-Lincoln Center eatery. The place was full and resonating. There was a tiny snafu upon our entry and, after promptly correcting the matter, glasses of prosecco were brought to the table in unnecessary compensation.
The food was good but not special - although the Fiorello Lasagne was, as forewarned, huge - and non-traditional in its construction.
We were seated in a tight corner with adequate but certainly not generous space; that is dining in NYC. Service was, despite the crowd, attentive, gracious, patient, delivered with good will and a smile (by more than a single waiter.)
Although our meal was simple by Fiorello standards, after our entrees were cleared, a waiter arrived with a large baking tray of hot cookies fresh from the oven that had managed to reach even our relatively remote corner. While finishing our coffee we were served small glasses of limoncello, another gracious touch. So either I was mistaken for a food critic of similar appearance or Fiorello has stepped up its charm offensive; I'll accept either one. Given the plethora of restaurants in NYC I would not plan on traveling far to dine here - but I would have no hesitation in dining here when the location is convenient.
Invcredible staff once again made for a wonderful dining experience. The vegetable bar Offered amazing selections - and my salmon was prepared to perfection. Gratis just baked chocolate chip cookies only added to our delightful evening. Highly recommended!
Cafe Fiorello is very close to Lincoln Center, and it was an excellent choice for an early dinner before the ballet. The homemade antipasto selection was varied and primarily vegetarian. My zucchini parmesan, asparagus and quinoa salad were both satisfying and delicious. My husband had grilled salmon on a bed of lentils which he demolished. We shared a tartufo for dessert which was made with a particularly intense dark chocolate gelato. Followed by Romeo and Juliet performed by the NYC Ballet, we went home content, despite tragedy.
Perfect evening with welcoming and professional staff, dark wood interior with soft lighting and booths. Delicious and special antipasto bar options and terrific pasta dishes. Lively atmosphere for pre-theatre dining but that makes it all the more interesting. Service was solicitous but not obtrusive. We lingered over dinner and were not rushed by the staff which is always appreciated.
Seating was quite tight. Service was excellent and the food was very good.
Service was at times spotty as everyone seemed very busy. But attitude was good and the food was delicious.
TOOK THE GRANDKIDS AND HAD A LOVELY TIME. ALWAYS RECOMMEND THE LA SAGNA. GREAT SERVICE
Early dinner before the opera. Very efficient service. Nice food.
Just fine. Food was good; service very good and fun ambiance.
We have been coming to this restaurant for over 20 years! Now it is better than ever! My favorite things to order are the roasted artichokes and pizza!
Sing for Supper
The MetOpera performance of Semiramide by Rossini at Lincoln Center is at 7:3pm - but why not an Italian dinner at Fiorello’s before the show? Ask for Doug, he is a hardworking waiter and all around wise man. Great attention and service. (Not too fast. Not to slow.)
Taste homemade Tordelli Bolognese stuffed with a delightful wild boar ragu and mushrooms. Yum. Then an appetizer of fresh artichokes lightly fried - crispy and deliciously topped with burrata. A bottle of sparkling rose from the Veneto, and your now ready to hear Semiramide, the ancient Queen of Babylonia sing Bel Canto! Prego.
Pre- theater is always very busy but the staff is quick and knows the guests have a show to make. Love the "thin" crusted pizza. Nice and crunchie. Great tartufo!
We go quite often but the service left a bit to be desired on this trip. Sat at the bar bar not the app bar.
Great experience as always! The vegetable bar is simply the best, awesome spot!
Loved the fried artichokes and lasagna. Shared the very large lasagna-plenty for two. Good coffee too. Good service and got to the opera with plenty of time.
Super people, super food, reasonable bill, super,s...........................................................................................................................................................................................super.
It was great. The opera ran later than expected but the staff graciously found us a very nice table. Food was excellent; service excellent. I would recommend Fiorello's to all my friends.
Please compliment your staff, especially the fellow who was at the computer who found us such a nice table.
Regards and best wishes.
Great food- good value for the area- big portions. Great caesar and pizza
Perfect brunch before Lincoln Center. The zucchini parm is a must. Highly recommended.
We were thoroughly pleased with our brunch--many fine choices, food well prepared and piping hot, sufficient healthy choices, excellent coffee.
The service was also cheerful, but not overly so, and attentive.
Table too small for plates
Aisles too small for people in winter clothes
Classic spot of pre- or post-event near Lincoln Center. Service that perfectly borders the professional and the friendly. Prompt service yet no rush.
Just a great place all around. Especially the bartenders Clever and Adrian. Tried to get there early enough to get a spot at the bar.
Our meal at Cafe Fiorello may have been the top highlight of our recent trip to NYC. The food is beyond fantastic. Exceptional service. Very busy and popular place - so don't go there for a quiet conversation. But, it was just a GREAT dining experience. Wow!!
Food was delicious. Service was excellent
Can’t wait to go back .
Ocupe la barra!! Excelente atención por parte del Barman....muy atento y simpático !!!!
Ours was a pre-theater birthday dinner. Our server accommodated our time requirements without sacrificing a pleasant demeanor. We enjoyed the vegetable appetizers: flavorful grilled broccolini, grilled mixed vegetables and quinoa with vegetables- presented beautifully and cooked just right. Overall, a lovely dinner.
Delicious baked clams. Great location for Lincoln center
