Cafe Fiorello Ratings and Reviews
Had tickets to a show at Lincoln Center, The location was perfect. Our table was ready when we walked in. Our server was courteous and the food was delivered quickly. Our meals were hot and delicious. It was not too loud and We were able to catch up and talk. We had a great meal together we were not rushed and it was definitely a restaurant I will return to.
We ate dinner at Café Fiorello after going to hear the NY Philharmonic. The restaurant is just across the street - easy access. The restaurant was animated and vibrant with authentic Italian food and many options for those with dietary restrictions. The wait staff was honest, friendly and attentive. Our waiter, Linden, is a real gem! We enjoyed dinner there so much that we immediately made reservations for the next time we're headed to the NY Philharmonic. What's best is that the clientele and ambiance spanned many generations, proving its value across the ages!
Easily our favorite restaurant in New York City! If you are looking for a quintessential Italian restaurant experience, you absolutely positively cannot miss Cafe Fiorello. The food is incredible, the ambiance delightful, and the staff are amazing.
If you do nothing else in your life, try the lasagna. It's unlike you have ever had before, and really makes you consider that everyone else who makes lasagna has just been doing it wrong.
Cannot recommend highly enough. I like it so much I wrote a review about it on the internet, which I never do for anything ever.
It's literally that good.
Our party was seated immediately upon arrival and then surprised with a champagne toast in celebration of our friend's birthday. From Shrimp and Salmon, to Seafood Risotto, to Homemade Short Rib and Meatballs Lasagne, each dish was well prepared and delicious. The staff was attentive and kept our glasses filled and brought us extra focaccia bread to enjoy. At dessert, we were brought a plate of chocolate mousse along with a pile of fresh whipped cream with a candle and a waiter sang for the birthday boy. We had a great time and appreciate all the special attention we received. A very special celebration.
This is a happening place. Saturday, 5:30 at Lincoln center is extremely popular. If you are going to the Ballet. Opera, symphony etc it is a great place to eat before. However if you want a quiet place pick a different place. They are very accommodating here and you can eat fast or take your time. Great food and service
Cafe Fiorello never disappoints! The food is consistently and dependably good! The scene is energetic and electric! And the service is beyond compare! For a restaurant that is so busy and so crowded, the wait staff is still on top of refilling water glasses and checking back frequently to see if we needed anything. We were a party of 5 -- pre-theater -- and our table was ready for us within 10 minutes of our reservation. We can't wait to go back!
This was one of the best restaurants I have enjoyed in the City in years. The food was great, plentiful and priced reasonably. The wait staff was excellent and very attentive. Bread replenishments etc. was automatic.
The reservations were simple and efficient with re-confirmation call the day prior to our visit a great help. We were even able to move our time a bit later than the original reservation.
We have found our new "go-to" spot in NYC!!!
Cafe Fiorello is located right across the square from Lincoln Center. It is one of my favorite options for dining before the ballet or opera. t is well-organized, immaculately clean and has a cozy, continental atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and efficient. The service is always friendly, if a bit hectic during pre-theater meals. A fabulous looking antipasti - for want of a better term - exhibition is the first thing you see along the triangular bar and it is ALWAYS packed with people who seem delighted to be tasting the mouthwatering tidbits while enjoying wine or a cocktail. I cannot tell you anything more about it - I have never indulged. We have only enjoyed dinners - always with a great bottle of wine - Italian of course - from a well thought out wine list. There are no specials, and the menu is filled with excellent Italian staples, many with a little something different or extra to make Fiorello a lot more than your typical red sauce joint. They use game in the meat dishes - adding a deeper, more intense flavor to the sauces - and the meatballs are stellar. Our favorite appetizers are the two burrata offerings - a caprese salad and a delectable pairing with prosciutto de Parma and greens. My unfailing way to judge the food at an Italian or seafood restaurant is to order the fried calamari - if it is rubbery, or the breading is bland, heavy or soggy - I will not return. Fiorello passes with flying colors - crispy, delicately seasoned coating covers the perfectly cooked calamari. The marinara sauce is fresh and bright and just spicy enough. We have sampled about a dozen of the entrees, and all of them were terrific. For those who love seafood risotto - a bit of an acquired taste, order and enjoy! The pizzas are marvelous, particularly the pepperoni and arugula - a scrumptious topping served on the thin crispy crust with the perfect amount of sauce and cheese. The ravioli with burrata are a favorite. We plan to come back on a regular basis.
It's always been one of our neighborhood favorites, and somehow it has recently gotten even better. It has the feeling of a restaurant that has been here a long time, and the comfort of tradition has been added to the fact that it's just a really good restaurant.
This is a restaurant I have usually enjoyed over many years. My recent experience there was awful. 1/2 of what we asked for from the menu they did not have. The fish my husband and I had were the worst we have tasted anywhere. My recent experience suggests the restaurant is going down hill. Please pay attention to this review.
Located across from Lincoln Center this venue is always very active. That being said, the food is excellent and the staff was very accommodating. We needed to be finished with our meal in one hour and, even with many appetizers, mains and dessert, we were out on time! Great lobster and shrimp fra diavolo (a special) and a supreme chocolate mousse!
Waited 20 mins at the bar when we had a booking, had to carry a full drink to the table which was subsequently spilled when they didn't pull the table out for us and I had to manoeuvre my way into a corner table. Waiter barely waiter for us to finish our sentences before he ran off. Took >40 mins for food. They brought us the wrong pasta and no one was around to check it was okay so we just ate it. Waited 20 mins for them to sort our bill out. One of the most disappointing New York dinner experiences I had in terms of service - food way tasty
I've been going here for years and years and I think given it was NYD, they had an off night. It was SUPER busy and their Bolognese just wasn't up to par. It was very dry and unappealing. I didn't want to insult the kitchen and send it back, but it definitely wasn't like it always is.
This was the most busy of any restaurant we visited, and remarkably, they make it work. It's like a city with the hustle and bustle, and people moving in every direction. We got a great table in a corner, and we could see it all unfold. It's civilization. Masses of people seeking their own benefit while being friendly and kind to their neighbors, their customers, and their servers. A nice atmosphere. I have to admit I was very impressed. And on top of that the food was very good NY Italian. We would go back.
This was my third visit to the restaurant, the previous two having been wonderful experiences. I visited on New Years day. Maybe the usual staff were off, but the food was a disappointment. It was far too salty (this is a dish I had previously which I had thoroughly enjoyed). It was burnt around the edges and overcooked. My husband's pasta dish was too dry, and I love aldente, but it wasn't cooked enough. I think consistency is really important for a restaurant, and I think it will be quite awhile before I give it another try.
My mom was visiting the city and Cafe Fiorello was wonderful. They were very accommodating, we switched tables 3x with no hassle. The chicken parm, salmon, and chocolate mousse were all wonderful. Best of all, our waiter sung opera to wish my mom a happy birthday, only at LC!
