Fantastic friendly service and amazing large portions of food!
Waitstaff inattentive. I waited 15-20 min for my check!
Great food, fun environment!
I don't know how they do it. No matter what time of day, the caliber of service and food is always excellent. Friendly and accommodating service, no push to turn the table. A menu that works for everyone, vegan, gluten-free etc etc. And the Tiramisu!!!!
We have eaten at Fiorello's many times, but this was our first lunch there. We began with a major problem: I had booked for friends from UK, but was unavoidably delayed and had to delay the reservation by 30 minutes. As I was unable to reach my friends (their cell phone did not work in USA), I left a message for them at the restaurant letting them know I would be late and had changed the reservation time. Shortly after the new reservation time, I called the restaurant to let them know I was on the way and to check that my friends had received my message. I was told my friends had not been seated. When I arrived, I was again told they had not arrived; when I asked about my message, he had it & read it to me, but then I spotted my friends, who it turned out, had arrived at the original booking time, not been given my message, had been seated for an hour and in fact had finished eating their main meal! We joined them and after some delay, the waiter arrived to take our order.
As always, the food was excellent; we ordered the Prix Fixe menu, which seemed to be good value; Caesar salad, meat balls, beet carpaccio and wedding soup were all excellent. We followed with one spaghetti carbonara, rather rich and heavy, & 3 red snapper, full-flavoured and very tasty. However, my soup arrived in a bowl, rather than a cup, which I didn't notice as I was busy apologising to my friends. When reviewing the bill later, I realised the waiter had probably made a mistake and passed on our order as from the main menu rather that the Prix Fixe. (when I ordered, I asked for "the wedding soup from the Prix Fixe menu"). As my friends paid, I felt very bad that they had ended up paying more than they expected to.
I realise that the staff were probably frazzled that day as there was a major flood in the area, but the fact that my message was not passed on, that I was misinformed that my friends had not arrived, and that there was a mistake re the order spoiled our celebration.
Cafe Fiorello is one of my favorite restaurants in the Lincoln center area.
Hope to go there again soon.
This was my 6th visit in last 12 months. We made reservations on Open Table for 6 pm on a Saturday night. The table we were seated at would have made Oompah Loompahs claustrophobic. The waiter was neglectful from the beginning. The food, as always was amazing. It arrived quickly and was hot and delicious. Being seated by the waiters service area added to the closeness, but not their attention. I had dirty silverware dropped on me, the wrong check, (already paid for) and then the requested after dinner coffee forgotten. Overall, an OK experience, not what one expects from Cafe Fiorello. For $170 for 2, one would expects the amazing food, but the service needs attention.
Delicious food...It was jam packed with people the evening we were there.
Must try the Vanilla Méringue Cup!! Best dessert. Good food, good value great location for Lincoln Center.
Perfect for an evening at Lincoln Center
Food and service are great and the location is perfect
Outstanding service, very accommodating, excellent food cooked with care, fresh quality ingredients and nicely presented. They even came around to the tables with warm chocolate cookies.
We love Cafe Fiorello. The food is consistently good and diverse enough to go almost ever time you're in that area as we are with the Philharmonic.
Maybe it was an off night. Espresso machine was broken. Can’t get a hamburger before 8 pm!! What is that all about? The grill is not on? Takes too long to cook for pre-theatre?
They are fast and convenient to Lincoln Center but there are other choices equally fast and nearby.
Fiorello is always a stand out option before or after an evening at Lincoln center. Great food and I especially love the updated menu. I do wish the cocktail menu was a bit more inventive to match the dining experience. Fortunately there are very good wines.
The location near Lincoln Center is prime and the food is good. But the downside is that it is always crowded and noisy.
convenient food terrific
great for after Opera or theater
The restaurant was very crowded and the Mayr d kept saying in a minute or 2 I will seat u
It definitely took a lot more than a minute or-two
We had tickets for the opera and so felt very rushed through our meal
Although the meal was pretty good it was on the cold side and we did not have the time to get it heated since we were seated well past our reservation
Not a relaxing experience for a costly meal
We are regular customers. It's always frenetic pre-theatre but they do a great job of service professionally, friendly and also fast. Food was excellent. Its always a plus that they pass out chocolate cookies, and the chunks of chocolate at the host stand are appreciated. The one negative is that it was so crowded that they put us at a table that stuck out into the wait staff's narrow traffic lane so I got bumped a lot - I don't think that table should be used.
food was very good. service was uneven, had to ask for the waiter to come to the table several times.
Vegetable appetizer small dishes not as delectable as before. Pasta still very decent. Great atmosphere, convenience, and late night hours are a compensation. Wish the food were as good as it was many years ago.
Our favorite restaurant on the upper west side. Every time we visit NYC, we dine here at least once.
Great food, great service and a fun experience.
The best blueberry pancakes in the entire world!!!
Artichoke omelette always a favorite.
Great crowd, great service- a real N.Y. favorite.
Eat here all the time and the ambiance seemed particularly frenzied tonight. Had vegetable assortment from the bar and the squash had hard seeds that should have been removed. Other veg were good. Our Dover sole was somewhat dry. Would have sent it back but it was too busy to make a scene and we needed to make a curtain across the Street
My wife and I have dined at Cafe Fiorello several times and have always been amazed. The service, from the moment we walk in to the point that they are returning our checked coats, is attentive but not overbearing. The food is excellent and leave room for the chocolate mousse. Reservations through Open Table is a must!!
It was a 70th birthday for three of us, as noted in my reservation. It was also mentioned to the waiter. People at tables nearby received dessert treats with candles and singing. We were not offered this.
A great place to meet and have a wonderful meal with outstanding service!!
Overpriced. Food just ok.
Great brunch at Cafe Fiorello's before catching a performance at the MET at Lincoln Center. Service was pleasant and quick, but not rushed. My mom and I split the gooey omelette which was delicious with roast potatoes, roasted red peppers and onions, and a small side of salad greens - plenty for two small appetites. Be sure to make reservations in advance as this place is a popular stop for many.
Wonderful breakfast experience. Artichoke Frittata was out of this world so was ham & eggs benedict!
The host was a bit "gruff,;" however, the server was friendly. The food was fine but nothing exceptional. Liked the individual pots of coffee but the first cup was not as hot as would have been expected given we were the first breakfast customers to be seated at 9 am. It was crowded by the time we left so clearly it is a favorite among others
Food was great, service, despite being a bit busy, was good
We went to dine after a concert @ 10:00pm. The place was still very crowded and noisy. Nevertheless we were promptly seated and offered water and focaccia.
The appetizers are varied and tasty: we had caponata, asparagus, and roasted mushrooms plus fried spicy calamari. Just when we thought the meal was going to be great, we ordered the main course which was definitely not up to our expectations: we ordered tuna which was dry and tasteless served on white beans which tasted just of of a can. The seafood risotto was soaked in grease and overcooked.
The waiter did not know that “Verdicchio” is a white wine and looked totally disinterested.
Do not think we will be back soon
We chose this restaurant as it was close to Lincoln Center. We had reservations and were seated right on time. The server was very attentive and the food was excellent, especially the chicken piccata. The four of us all loved everything about Cafe Fiorello and can’t wait to go back!
Amazing meatballs and margarita pizza!!
The service was bad and the pasta and lamb dish we have made us sick the next day. We will not be back
This is one of my favorite spots- especially in the Lincoln Center area. It’s a go-to spot, too for casual entertaining. The pizza is delicious and there are a variety of styles to choose from. Paired with wine from a great wine list it’s a lovely meal. But don’t forget to start with the Chef’s antipasto dish.
And if dining alone, you can’t beat the yummy bar with a variety of delicious dishes. Cold ? Italian Wedding Soup will warm and fill you. Can’t wait to enjoy this great restaurant again soon!
I love Cafe Fiorello! It's one of my favorite places. As soon as you enter, you become the most important person there! I've rarely come into an establishment where's that's my experience. The place was packed, the lines were out the door, yet no one rushed us and we were valued as the customer is supposed to be. What a wonderful place! PS. Great food and service, as well!
Perfect New Years Day brunch with friends!
Did not like being given table facing the bathrooms
