Fabulous meal before show at Lincoln Center
Tables are too close to one another- too cramped
Food came out quickly- could have been hotter- only warm
Réservations were not honored!
Waited 45 min. And still were ignored!
Food was good - liked the vegetarian options available for either appetizer or a meal. We went before the opera and it was extremely crowded and tightly packed. My husband and I were seated between a couple tightly cramped into a corner and a table of a dozen women who were shouting to each other and squeezing , one-by-one to get out for the rest room. Seriously, one woman's butt was resting on our table as six of them squeezed out! (I realize big groups create their own kind of problem, but the example was to show HOW tightly we were cramped!)
Despite the situation, the servers were very attentive to our requests...really did a stellar job. We sure hope that patrons generously tip them, because they deserve it!
Because of the noise and cramped quarters, this review is less than stellar. We have been there before and had a better experience. The food is always good, so shame on us for booking at such a busy time. We will book again when it is not pre-show.
Great food as always!!!!
We had not been to Fiorello's indoors pre-theater for a while. The last few times it was warm enough to eat outside which is lovely. Inside has become a zoo. It was loud enough to be a school cafeteria. Although there were many waiters. servers and bussers, it seemed difficult to get prompt service. When we did get our waiter's attention, we had to remind him that we had ordered something. The food was excellent. EXCEPT for the espresso (machiato and cappucino) after dinner. It tasted like reheated dishwater. It was NOT made from true espresso machine. Nor was the foam made of milk. Disgusting. I sent it back. The charm of Fiorello's and the warm atmosphere were missing, even though we were offered fresh-baked cookies. I am sure that the people for whom booths are named no longer would eat here especially pre-theater. I know I won't until it's warm enough to eat outside again. What a pity. As the song goes, Another one bites the dust.
Always happy with their food and a long time fan of the antipasto bar.
Tables were very tightly spaced and every time someone passed by me, I was hit. The food and service was okay so it wasn’t worth getting hit. I will not go back!
Management was responsive to our request for a booth which was wonderful. Food was very good and Fiorello Spritz was delicious and refreshing. However, the service was slow We had a 12:00 reservation and had tickets for a 2:00 show at Lincoln Center-I thought the would be plenty of time; however, we did not have time for dessert, although we had the dessert menus and had made a choice. I was there with a friend to celebrate her birthday so I was disappointed we didn't have time to have a special dessert. Management did know it was her birthday.
The reservation was easy to get. The food was delicious and the service was very good. This was my friend's first visit to Cafe Fiorello and was very impressed. I've been to the Cafe many times and always enjoy my meal.
What I ordered was tasteless. It was salmon.
Not my first time at this restaurant or others of this group, Bond 45, etc.
All was good except being put at a table which was squeezed into a corner making it very difficult to get into and out of. Especially when there had been several empty tables for 2 in the same area when we arrived. If this had been my first time at Cafe Fiorello there might not have been a second.
Our Server was very good.
What would life be like without Fiorello's? I cannot imagine. Always wonderful. Always delicious. Always delightful.
A great pre-Lincoln Center restaurant -- they'll get you out in time for your curtain. The traditional Italian food is good, portions are generous, prices aren't out of sight, and even if service is frantic until showtime, the staff is reliably courteous and efficient. (When our table wasn't ready exactly on time, we were given free glasses of Champagne.) Cafe Fiorello is also noisy and cramped, but near Lincoln Center, you can't do better.
Party of 5 - 4 superb meals. Black truffle ravioli with thinnest pasta, delicate sauce was perfect. Veal Parmesan was enough for two and excellent. Salmon and rigatoni were very good. Only down note was the bolognese - odd taste and unusually dry. Great appetizers and desserts.
Great food and accommodating staff. Very close to Lincoln Centet.
Excellent food and surprisingly outstanding service in this very, very busy restaurant. Our server was professional and pleasant, worked within our timeline, while being open to special orders. Will visit again when in the Lincoln Center area. Side note: While the staff was very accommodating to the one in our party who uses a walker, I do not believe the restrooms are accessible.
Food is excellent and the service outstanding. Special attention to children was much appreciated.
The only drawback is that the restrooms are totally inaccessible to people with disabilities (I don't know if there is a separate restroom for disabled patrons). Once you're in the ladies' room, the hook on the door for your purse is about 7 feet high!
Otherwise a delicious and totally delightful meal!
My friend and I had brunch on Saturday before attending a performance at Lincoln Center. We had a reservation and were seated promptly. Restaurant was very busy. Our waiter was attentive and we enjoyed our meal selections. I would definitely return when we are in the neighborhood again.
The brunch is really good. The service was excellent. the noise level is higher than I'd like but it was crowded. The coffee was not strong enough; it came in a pot, which I like but it wasn't hot enough.
Excellent delicious food.
As every time there ...excellant...if doing the area a must place to try...
Italian wedding soup is consistently great. We take it every time when we eat at Fiorello, and it never disappoints. Artichokes a la Judea- dish is really good that is reminiscent of Trastevere, whereas prosciutto and burrata are clean and tasty. Good value for the money, acros Lincoln Center, good Italian food.
First time I have eaten at Cafe Fiorello for lunch - prior to Matinee at the NY Philharmonic. Very pleasant and somewhat less crowded then in the evenings. Food was good and service prompt. Lunch time prix-fixe menu was modest in cost and worth it.
The lasagna is great!! Good wines ... Also the tiramisu is amazing. Great Service. Good place to go before or after theatre.
Cafe Fiorello was packed to capacity. Even with a reservation we had to wait. We were sat at a tiny deuce table which was confining. However the food and service were good. The house lasagne was terrific.
We had Dinner before a Concert @ Lincoln Center and the service was excellent we were not rushed and offered advice on the menu. The food was very good we all had a Pasta dish and the artichoke appetizer was excellent. The value was very good for NYC, the wine list was reasonably priced. We would definitely go back
Fiorello is always a pre-theatre must! Amazing pizza and antipasto followed by a very rich chocolate mousse desert
Excellent food and atmosphere...fried artichokes were heavenly...branzino and fettucine Bolognese were excellent...
Atmosphere was attractive. Cozy private seating. Very nice servers. Food was delicious . Scallops with mushrooms were so flavorful. Coffee could be hotter. Great place overall
Excellent service, great food, pleasant environment. Fantastic staff from Mateo, General Manager & Michael, Manager, to our lovely attentive, courteous waitress: Úrsula!
Great breakfast or brunch. Spicy Bloody Mary’s. Good, attentive fast service. Friendly neighborhood ambiance. I’d go again.
Always delicious and perfect for a post-symphony dinner.
At 5PM restaurant was packed. While service was ok, the atmosphere is too frenetic for my taste. We were there on a Saturday. Perhaps a weekday would be better. Tables are very tight making it uncomfortable, especially in the winter with coats. No one offered to take our coats. Guess they don't check coats. We have been there several times and food is always good.
Fantastic food. I loved the food me and my parents had, but the waiter we had was a bit slow and either it was the kitchen being slow or our waiter just forgot to bring our meal out so a different waiter did. Our waiter seemed good but not completely able to handle his job. I however besides that thought the restaurant was great in every other way.
Wine was overpriced, even for the city. Bread was ok. Meatballs were great. Ragu was pretty bad. Burrata was great. Ravioli was fine. Overall, you can get a much better meal in the city for less.
Always fun an busy. Service fast and friendly. Food delicious. Will come again.
Fiorello's Is a good choice for pre theatre dining and perhaps it could be a good choice once theatre crowd has gone. Food is good but nothing special. Restaurant does a good job of getting all pre theatre crowd fed on time.
Attending theater st Lincoln Center
We love this restaurant but had a VERY bad experience this time due to poor seating by a young man at the front and a neglectful, unpleasant waiter. The food was good as usual.
