We will be back
It was wonderful having Easter Brunch at Cafe Fiore. The poached salmon was quite good, as was the egg sandwich. Our server was very congenial and efficient. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend.
The service and the food were both excellent. The shrimp & polenta appetizer, the lobster ravioli and the t-bone were all delicious.
The service was great, but there were a few items left wanting. The food was just okay; half step above Olive Garden. My wife and I felt that the food needed a little more flavor (pepper, salt, etc.). The coffee was 'meh' and the tiramisu looked amazing...but also had a 'meh' rating in flavor for us.
The restaurant had a live band (this was a Thursday evening) which was nice. However, it was a little difficult to hold a conversation during dinner (and we sat toward the back).
If you're in town, like we were, and looking for a drink with some live music, then this is the place. The food wasn't a big seller for us, but the service was great.
In old town Ventura, this Italian restaurants satisfies. The décor is warm and comfortable. There is live music but not so much that it competes with conversation. The menu is filled with excellent options from fish, meat, salads etc. We began with calamari/zucchini blossoms and an artichoke gratin. Mains were short ribs and tuna. All were excellent and the service was great. Worth a repeat visit.
I make the 45 minute drive to visit Cafe Fiore for special occasions just for the gnocchi, but love everything I've tried on the menu. The Gamberi with polenta is delicious as an appetizer with a mixed berry mojito. Many fall off the bone options. If I had to nitpick, sometimes service is a bit slow......but never rude. I love this place!
We were a party of 5. 3 had the Osso buco and 2 had pasta dishes. Everyone loved their meals. All of us have been here before, so we knew we were in for a great meal.
Fantastic Italian meal with great cocktails and live music.
Food was very good enjoyed the atmosphere over all very well rounded
Excellent food and service.
We came 10 minutes early and our table was surprisingly ready. Service was ok. Our attendant intermittently checked in on us. A little disappointed that spinach ran out early since we placed our order at 830pm. Ambiance was ok. It could’ve been better. There was live music and background music during breaks. I wasn’t too impressed. Considering it was vday, I would have expected the music to celebrate love. Instead it brought a somber mood to the evening.
We also had an axxess card which they wouldn’t take because vday is apparently a recognized holiday and the BOGO doesn’t apply on holidays.
Keep going back and trying it. Gets worse each time. When they first opened they were great. Now it's just an ordinary Italian restaurant. Nothing special.
Great neighborhood Italian restaurant. The food is excellent and the service is friendly and attentive. Love the ambiance. The menu is extensive and offers something for every taste. I’ve never seen so many risotto options on a menu before.
A friend from Santa Cruz recommended Cafe Fiore as her fav Italian restaurant. We loved it!
The food was delicious but that evening there seemed to be an extreme delay. We were there for over 2.5 hours, because we were waiting for our food. The waitress made it up to us with a dessert on the house that was fantastic!
Took forever to get our food. 1 1/2 hours and then one dinner was missing. We like the food and the live bands but service really needs to improve.
The service and food were perfect I
Great ambiance, menu, food, wine, service (except for one unhelpful hostess) and music!
Excellent service and food was perfectly prepared and delivered hot.
first time there, was very good! I just wish had a bigger section of wine by the Glass. food was outstanding . would go back again.
Great food! Great experience. Excellent time. I would go again
The food was amazing! I can't wait to bring the love of my life BACK to you all!
We ask if we can seat were they cook !
We love to seat there , you get the a bird eye view of everything!
You get to see everyone ones jobs down to the one that’s the salads to the one does the sauces and the main Chief .
We sat down in no time , but after waiting for 5 minuets, no waiter , no water !
and that’s looking over the menu! Finely waiter show up , yes you do have others tables to do too but it shouldn’t have taken that long . Sorry !
The bread came out fresh right out of the oven and was wonderful !
We like oil and balsamic with the bread it’s so good !
Are appetizer and dinner came out wonderful ! Really good food !
Looking for good Italian, and this was a good spot with nice service. Had some nice wine options that were outside the typical. Regular spaghetti with meatballs and the various salads were really good. Pasta Arrabbiata, however, was disappointingly lacking any spice. A little on the expensive side, but all in all a nice time.
I have eaten here frequently and it is always excellent. I ordered the Osso Bucco this time and it was a little dry. Otherwise perfect.
The appetizers and cocktails were great, all other food excellent. The veal was a little, as mentioned, dry (old)
Hadn't been to Cafe Fiore in a long time, but had dinner there twice in the last month. Both times it was excellent in every way. Great service. Delicious Food. We will definitely start making it a regular stop for dinner. The lasagna was excellent and the NY Steak was one of the best I've had in a long time. Cooked perfectly! Good service too.
What a surprise! Downtown Ventura with easy parking. My meaty lasagna was memorable. Justin Isosceles 2013 a good compliment, was poured in a fine glass. Bravo! Service excellent. I'll return. Make a reservation.
Loved having the back corner table, very romantic.
We have are from Houston and been going here every year since 2007. We LOVE it!!! Every dish is amazing and the white chocolate ice cream is a must!!!
Always have such a long wait even with reservations
Great food, great ambience . Had a great time. Our server was friendly and professional
We were given the absolute WORST table in the restaurant, with a reservation, and I had requested a booth. The table was directly across from the pickup from the kitchen. People who had just walked in were given a booth, no reservation. We got crap, but eventually got moved after I complained A LOT. Were moved to the bar area, which was a bit better. Looked back at the table we had been at and they began using it as a plate staging zone. Stacked with dishes and napkin rolls.
Don’t take a reservation if you aren’t going to provide nice seating. And don’t put walk ins in a better spot than reservations.
We had a great dinner and found the service to be excellent
Hostess is very sweet. Food & ambience are good. Our waiter was nice but I've never encountered an issue at any other restaurant when asking for a 'splash' of the wine to make sure I like it prior to ordering a glass. So much better than returning a full glass if it's not good. Perhaps this particular server is not familiar with that common request. He was fine other than that. I strongly recommend the caramel custard dessert...amazing!
Fiores is always on our to-do list when visiting Ventura. Whether it's for lunch or dinner, the food, service, and atmosphere are consistently excellent. Once again, with our recent visit, we weren't disappointed. The portions are generous so don't fill up on the delicious bread. Also, our reservations were for 5:00 on a Tuesday. Shortly after we were seated, the place was filled up so I suggest making reservations.
Love the ambiance of The Treehouse. Food always tastes better when your surroundings is awesome! Great service, too!
When I made the reservation, I indicated it was our 40th Anniversary,. Unfortunately, Cafe Fiore ignored the note so our special dinner was incomplete and a disappointment. That being said, it is a lovely restaurant, the food was delicious and our server was very attentive.
Really good food, a little pricy but that was expected. Highly recommend the butternut squash ravioli. Don't come for the steaks.
We enjoyed our meal and service at Cafe Fiore after a day in Wine Country. We had Minestrone soup and the Sole Fish Almondine with zucchini. Everything was very good. A pleasant surprise.
Good food, lovely atmosphere, and great location. Our waiter wasn't very attentive and had little personality but overall we were pleased with our experience. We will definitely go back!
