They had live music inside, which was awesome to sit at the bar and listen to. The outside patio where we sat was beautiful. Bunch of succulents and cool decor. My only knock was the slow service, even at the bar felt like it took a bit to get the bar tender's attention. But overall really liked it.
The service & the food were fabulous!! We can’t wait to go back.
I have eaten at Café Fiore many many times in the last 20+ years and this visit was by far the most, just ok. It's usually phenomenal. This time the service was barely adequate and the food was just ok.
Please cook the gnocchi more. it was like undercooked dough
The Bruschetta Trio was unusual, and a real treat. The grilled salmon on barley and greens was delicious, not overly sauced. Crispy skin left on the fish gave extra texture to the dish. Dessert special - fresh custard in a shell with macerated strawberries, balsamic vinegar sauce, and fresh whipped cream was excellent. We'll be back!
Food was very good, sat at the counter by the kitchen and it was fun watching them cook. Our server basically ignored us took the order then asked if we wanted dessert.
We had 4 of our young grandchildren and wanted to take them to our favorite place while in Ventura.
We were celebrating a birthday - just a small group of four this time but we have also celebrated other family members in the past with large groups. "birthdays" seem to be popular at Cafe Fiore as there were
at least three others going on the night we dined! And why not? The menu is extensive, the food fabulous and the prices reasonable . We had both cocktails and "mocktails", shared three different pasta/pizza dishes and a few scrumptious desserts (ours came with sparklers of course). Definitely will be back!
Overall, this is a nice restaurant with great atmosphere, but service was slow the night we were here. Other than that, love Cafe Fiore!
Amazing food, staff was very friendly, I can't wait to go back.
Dinner was absolutely fantastic. Definitely need to go here if you want epicurean delights.
Outstanding buffet, awesome selection and quality of food.
This restaurant is small and full of character.
We arrived early so had a drink at the bar. In this era of cocktails, I was unimpressed with the glassware and presentation. Nothing special. The hostess worked to seat us early which was nice. However our table was in the very back and we stared at a 4’ wall the entire dinner. The food was fair. The highlight was our waitress— she was fabulous!
This restaurant has a lot of potential! We will try it again.
Selections are creative and high quality. Service is prompt. Try the ravioli. Yummy
Everything was perfect, just wish there was something more spacious & comfortable than a semi circle booth for a party of 6 but we didn’t let that ruin the occasion!
Great happy hour. Stay for dinner. Pasta is excellent with homemade sauces.
Food is consistently good at Cafe Fiore. The restaurant has a bit of a stale smell but nothing that some fresh flowers on tables wouldn’t fix. Service varies- never bad just sometimes not as attentive or interrupts at wrong time.
All good, better with live music
We live in LA, and when we visit Ventura--about once every other month--, dinner at Cafe Fiore is a must. I cannot believe how, year after year, Cafe Fiore maintains its high standards, both for the high quality of its meals and the excellence of its service. And this in a world in which restaurants unfortunately cannot be counted on for stability.
Entree was poor and not what was expected.
Staff is great and overly accommodating. Food is terrific! Go and enjoy!
Best mushroom polenta ever!!!
I know this restaurant well as I live in the area. It is one of my favorites. I took a friend from out of the area and she really liked it, too the card and said we should definitely come back. We lunch together every month either in her part of the county or mine, so this is high praise.
There is no question that I recommend Café Fiore as one of Ventura's best restaurants.
The seating area could have been better. Great service and the special brownie with sparkling candles was a great touch! All in all an excellent time
Always a good spot for dinner...
Yummy food great service !
The lights were out and the restaurant was dark, exotic and romantic. I am sure it was a pain to have a power outage on a Saturday night, but we thought it was fun. You should do it more often!
Food was ok. My husband order the lamb and it was not very good for the price. They had a power outage and we ate our meal in the dark. No extra discount for this. Would not go back.
Menu choices are good and food is delicious, though a little pricey. Our server this evening was not very personable and his service was a little slow.
Outside of the hostess who was extremely rude, we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. Great food, reasonably priced in a very relaxed atmosphere. They also had a wonderful live band to listen to during dinner.
Too bad the hostess is the first person you have to interact with when you get there. She should learn manners or get a job not dealing with the public.
Cafe Fiore is hit or miss. When it's not packed, it's a great experience... service is great, food is good, and it's a nice quiet spot to talk with friends. Last Saturday, however, was a case where there were too many customers and the staff can't seem to keep up. We were sat in the covered out door area, and there was a tarp on the roof that, with the high winds, kept slamming down on the roof which was startling every time it happened. It took an hour and a half to get our food, but luckily it was still hot by the time we got it (other times similar to this, I've gotten cold food). Maybe the owner needs to consider lowering the number of tables because it's been evident that with a full house the kitchen can't keep up.
Awesome happy hour. Men working behind the bar gave great customer service. The food was delicious and the prices were great. Our server at the table was great too. Well worth the trip from Moorpark and looking forward to going back.
Business lunch with a co-worker. Overall very tasty. Would visit again if in the area.
This place is great if you plan to have a very leisurely meal. If you are in a hurry I don't recommend this place. The food was very good and the staff was friendly but it was quite slow. It didn't really bother us as sometimes we feel we are being rushed out of a place and this was a special occasion. They were willing to make special accomodations in the food for allergies and the food was good. I did have to get up a couple of times to ask for refills on drinks, etc but we enjoyed the ambiance and food and would come back again if we have two hours for a meal.
Upon arriving on time for my 7.15 reservation, I was told to wait by a waitress who promptly walked away. Ten minutes later, the hostess showed up and told me to wait at the bar. At 7.45 the two of us were seated. We waited another 10 minutes before a waitress showed up at the table with menus. We ordered drinks and began to look at the menu. 10 more minutes passed before we were able to order our food. The food arrived about 15 minutes later and was decent but not outstanding. After we finished we waited another 15 minutes before we could get the bill paid and left. overall, I would rate this restaurant as mediocre at best and I would hesitate to go to this restaurant again.
Still our go-to place after many years. Lovely server and bussing staff. Food always consistently good though soup not hot enough for me. Great bar, excellent wine list. Still love the place although upholstery needs a facelift. Enjoy
Very nice restaurant in downtown Ventura. Delicious food. Good wine list.
Service was slow. The Manhattan I ordered was horrible
Very nice time!!
