Cafe Escadrille Ratings and Reviews
As always, Café Escadrille never disappoints. Viktor took great care of us as usual. He's by far our favorite. If you're unsure of one of the nightly specials, he'll tell whether he thinks it's good. Some places use a "special" as a way of getting rid of something. We started with the Clams Casino & Shrimp Tempura Sushi roll. Both were excellent. The clams, I thought would be one of those big stuffed Quahogs. Those can either be good or just full of bread crumbs. This was quite different. They were 6 Cherry Stone Clams, which were stuffed & very flavorful. The Sushi roll was excellent as well. Their Sushi is as good as anything in the area. We then had side salads. mine was hearts of lettuce & bleu cheese. Always excellent. Richard had the warm Goat cheese & Beet salad. Again very good. for our mains, I had the baked stuffed Lobster. I wanted the 3 pounder, but they were out & had to have the 2 pounder, which was tender & just perfect. With the weather lately, getting really large Lobsters is a bit trying. Richard had the Lamb Shank, which he enjoyed very much. He had plenty to take home. For dessert we split the Cherry Chocolate Bread pudding. A nice finish.
We took our grand-daughter out for a special treat. She had Seafood Fettuccine Alfredo, which she loved. My wife and I both had the Baked, Stuffed Shrimp, which wasn't bad but it wasn't the best stuffing we've had. For dessert we shared a Mudslide Chocolate Cake and a coffee ice cream puff
Went for New Years Party of 4 my husband and two kids 7 and 6. No kids menu which was disappointing. We all had filets (myself w a stuffed shrimp combo). Filets were VERY DRY and TOUGH kids could barely eat it. French fries for kids were mushy and cold. The best part of dinner was brownie sundae dessert. Overall atmosphere was nice. Sat my window but definitely wouldn’t again because of the draft coming thru. Overall I would never go again. Have been to Capital Grille hundreds of times w my children and they love the food there ( they also have a kids menu) but they enjoy the filet at CG. Very disappointed tried something new because I’ve heard good things but did not live up to the reviews.
Excellent ambiance, food, and service. Veal Catherine is unique, garnished with a full lobster tail, shrimp, and artichoke hearts, in a rich cream sauce. The filet mignon was great as well, and we always save room for their famous Creme Brulee. The restaurant is pricey, but not as much as ala carte steakhouses, for example.
Very Dated. Avg age 80 years old. Service just ok, the somm provided zero input. He brought a wine to our table- we tasted and approved. Came back with a glass and left. Very disappointing to see... might be why he is at Escadrille
I took our team out for a holiday lunch.
The decorations were very good, the service was excellent and the food was excellent, as it always is.
Everyone in our group was very pleased with the whole experience and enjoyed the lunch.
We will be back.
I usually come to the Café Escadrille for a fine dining experience and have been doing so for years.
They have always impressed the guests I bring when I pick the venue and will always be my first choice when I am in the area.
My loyalty comes from the consistency of the excellent food and service I have received over many years. Everyone at the Café Escadrille works as a team to provide a great experience and it shows by how busy they are when I am there.
Five stars isn’t enough to describe the service - attentive without being too much, friendly but not fake, very accommodating with special requests. The place is lovely, lighting is bright enough to see the menu, but still soft. I am sensitive to sound, and found our neighbors loud - that may have been them, more than the restaurant. I don’t usually like live music because of that sensitivity, but the music was not intrusive. The food choices aren’t extensive - not a great choice if you’re vegetarian - so the menu is not overwhelming. There are several vegetable sides, which were very good. Everything was well prepared. Portions are sizable - both of us had leftovers adequate for another meal hand the food was good reheated).
We had hoped to sit in the main dining area, but were seated in the other room, which was a little louder than we'd prefer. However, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The food was excellent, and our waiter was fast & professional, while wielding a great sense of humor.
My mother in law has raved for years about Cafe Escadrille so when I planned my husbands 50th Birthday dinner it was a natural selection. It was a party of 15 and I had reservations. It took 20 minutes to get our first beverage and 45 minutes to get water at the table. I was stunned, as was my Mother Sin Law by how slow service was......
I took some business associates to the Escadrille for a holiday luncheon. The restaurant was decorated beautifully, the food was delicious, and our server Susan was outstanding. Everyone said they enjoyed the meal and the venue and all said they would return for another occasion.
Ambiance is great; Ralph was wonderful waiter. We did lunch, presentation of baked stuff shrimp was wonderful - just enough -quality - presentation of lovely.
We went to catch up on conversation and even though it was full, no problem talking and hearing each other.
Love going there and will be there again soon
It was quite busy on Thanksgiving. With that being said, we were seated right away ( no wait). We were seated in a quiet back room which allowed us to enjoy our conversation. Each of us ordered different entrees and all were pleased with their choices ( baked stuffed shroud, baked stuffed shrimp, veal Catherine and veal Marsala). We waited about ten minutes before seeing waitstaff but after that service improved tremendously. Lovely family dinner.
