   We ate outside but could hear pounding music emanating from inside. They may have been short-staffed as waiter we r hardly stopped by. Disappointing meal.

   Wonderful French place at Broadway & 104th. Cuisine is delicious, diverse menu, service is very attentive. Three choices of seating ambiance: outside under constructed walls/ceiling cover with windows built in, wall hangings & flag of France (our choice), outside along sidewalk where people walk, and inside which though charming, has music that is too loud for eating & any conversation; the volume carries outside as well. Outside of the loud music, this is a great place!

   Service is impeccable at Cafe du Soleil. Very polite and Continental. The food is always very good, especially the seafood. I do think the owners should find a way to keep the noise level down in the bar area so that diners don't have to shout at each other to be heard. Not like library "shushing" but some friendly way of saying "Please keep it down guys."

   We took advantage of the Bastille Day prix fixe dinner and it was wonderful! And the all day Petanque tournament that was going on made it very festive and fun- if also very noisy! But fun noise. The food was exceptionally good Saturday night - which was great considering the crowd. 2 dinners including a bottle of wine -not great wine but quite drinkable- for $125 is a great deal!

    We were looking forward to sitting inside in AC, but unfortunately management thought loud nighttime club music, on top of people talking loudly, to be heard over the unnecessary nighttime music during brunch, was a great choice… not. Who thought that was brunch atmosphere???Ended up outside in the heat, and still couldn’t get away from the bad loud tunes. The situation reminded us of going to a great hotel in the Caribbean to hear the Ocean, and have a break, only to very disappointed that the hotel let someone without a clue choose to start playing club music around 11am at the pool… don’t do it at brunch either. Won’t be back, not worth the trek

    The Cafe du Soleil was everything I was hoping for and expecting. The food and wine were delicious, the ambiance was great with all of the decor ans detail, and you were able to have a conversation at a normal volume because it’s located in a great area. Highly recommend!

    The best thing cafe du soleil has is the outdoor dining, it’s quite beautiful and you feel like you’re dining in Paris. The indoor is charming as well. I was disappointed in the food, the Brussel sprout salad was good not great and I had the swordfish burger and my husband had the regular burger. We wanted to short ribs but they were out of them and it was only 6pm. Both burgers were mediocre at best, the swordfish had no seasoning or flavor although it was moist. The pomme frites were uneventful. We had the creme puffs with ice cream for dessert and it was the same, just ok. It’s unfortunate since it’s so beautiful. Won’t be going back.

    Frustrating when one gets together with friends traveling from all over to eat here, as we often do, and then not be able to hear what anyone is saying because the music is way too loud and requests to turn it down please are ignored. No matter how wonderful the food always is the noise and screaming to be heard spoiled the night. We are looking for another venue for our next get together after coming here for years. Pity.

    The food is good, and the portions are great. The outdoor space needs work though. The bubble shielding is old and shows signs of dirtiness and tearing. The waiter did not return to our area outdoor as frequently as we would have expected. So much so to the point we had to eventually ask them to refill our water for us if we didn't initially say anything to them.

    The food was overpriced but the portions were huge. The meat is served on the rare side so be prepared to adjust your order. The place gets busy for dinner and the noise level is to loud to carry on a conversation with your family.

    I love this place and have been many times (including a delightful visit a month ago) but last night's dinner was very disappointing. The prices have skyrocketed, the prix fixe menus are gone, and the quality of the food was way down. I had cassoulet, one of my favorites there. Way too much vinegar, no crumb topping, and at $32, extremely overpriced. Likewise, my companion's Nachos Parmentier, which he said was greasy and stringy. A cocktail (excellent, BTW), the cassoulet, and splitting a HALF bottle of sediment-filled cabernet, cost over $80 per person, with tip. Given the lack of customers that night, the waiter really didn't need to pester us incessantly about placing our order instead of letting us linger over our cocktail. I really hope this was a fluke because I would hate to see another favorite place destroy itself.

    The food was a huge disappointment. Ordered the salmon medium well and got overcooked and dry. My spouse had the Soleil burger with toppings that were more like leftover scraps. The champagne was initially flat a replacement glass had a little more fizz. I did not eat my meal and was famished by the time we got home—the restaurant is only a 10 minute walk from our home.

    The food was good. This was not the place to bring my elderly father. Way too noisy inside, so our party of six sat outside while the temperature dropped. They did not have outdoor heaters. Service was extremely slow. It was a birthday dinner and we had to leave before dessert.

    We had a wonderful time. It was a get together after many years with a childhood friend. We talked and talked, ordered a bottle of wine , talked some more and then finally ordered our meals. We weren’t rushed. The staff was attentive and understanding. Our meals came quickly. They were delicious. We will all remember this evening as a warm good memory!!
