Well-priced for Manhattan. Generous portions, very good food, attentive service.

The food is very good here, but the service this last time was horrible. After taking our order we never saw our waiter.

We love this place - this is the first time we've had a problem with our orders, just couldn't get the toast we ordered until we asked several times. I stress, this is unusual: probably due to the full house during Christmas week.

Brunch on New Years day was an average good experience. The pancakes are very good. The croque was a little dry but tasty. The waiter was very friendly but hard to find at times. It was good but nothing spectacular. A B rating at best.

Excellent food, great menu. Went for brunch on New Years. The one critique I have was the service. The host was great and friendly, as were the gentlemen refilling coffee (we got so many refills, which was awesome). Our waitress however was not so great. One of my friends joined us a few minutes late. When we were ordering she had a question and then decided she needed another minute. The waitress was super pushy and rude about my friends question. My friend asked to put our orders in and then come back in a minute for her. The waitress said no, which I comepletly understand why. But my friend said just come back in a minute. She didn’t. 15-20 minutes later she kept walking by us, ignoring us. We finally waved her down and put in our order. She never checked on us after the food was served and took forever to bring the bill and even longer to ring us up. It dampened what other wise was a great brunch.

Food was superb though. I had the baked short ribs. My other friends had the salmon croque monsieur and the veggie one, which were both great. Another got the crepes Italian which were great but a smaller portion.

Overall recommend, hopefully our waitress is in a better mood if you have her.

I have been here several times and I have to say the service on New Year's Eve was horrendous. The cafe was cold and when we asked to put the heat on they refused. Food was thrown on the table and we felt rushed out even when the restaurant was 1/2 empty and there was no one waiting.

I have lived in the neighborhood for many years and have often been to Cafe du Soleil. Went the other night with a friend and had a tasty dinner of moules frites over quiet conversation. A great neighborhood place with a varied menu and always pleasant service. Feels like being in France!

My boyfriend and I love this place. The brunch beverages are only $6, and they have a good variety. The salads are huge. The portions of pancakes are also plentiful.

Cafe du Soleil is a neighborhood staple - a great place to meet for lunch on the Upper Upper West Side. It's a French bistro, with omelettes, Croques, salads etc, good French fries, and a cozy, cute place. I wish there were more places like this nearby!

As a patron of 8 years, DS delivers fresh and delicious entrees via an attentive staff in an very comfortable setting. It is an ancent of the French enclave of the UWS.

Food better the last time we were there. Also portions bigger last time as well. This place was convenient to meeting friends. It was a warm night and all outside tables were taken. Music was blasting a but loud inside. Hard to hear conversations.

We started with burrata, which was great (as always). I had the moulles frites and she had the chicken, both of which were great. Our wine was good, although we poured our own glasses (they put it on ice on our table). The waiter wasn't super attentive, but it didn't matter much. The ambience and decor is perfect and I'll be going again - seems like a good place for brunch.

Cafe du Soleil is a wonderful little spot in upper manhattan. Authentic french cuisine and a cozy bistro atmosphere. Waiters are so warm, inviting and very friendly. Our table was asked to move over a seat and we did so willingly. For our trouble the waiter gave use free dessert. Very nice gesture! I will definitely be back!

I loved our quiet delightful delicious lunch at Cafe Du Soleil. We happened upon it as we were on the UWS for little league. The food was delicious - bountiful Cobb, fluffy pancakes, rich jambon gruyere crepes, hearty steak sandwich et frites and oh of course yummy creme brûlée. Great service. Just lovely. Will absolutely go back.

"French restaurant week" menu at $38 seemed to be the same as regular $35 prix fixe but pricier. Chocolate mousse dessert did not seem homemade but commercial, with a squirt of whipped cream and half strawberry stuck on top. Appetizers and entrees okay, not great. Wine
by the glass a good pour.

what seemed like neighborhood regulars were having a great time, but we will not go back.

usually love this place, have been a few times. I love steak frites with sauce and have it a lot all over the city. this night food was not good. sauces were not good. au poivre watery béarnaise was mayo. very expensive as steak was ala carte and not even good. hangar steak was fatty. It was too expensive and disappointing as this was our go to French neighborhood place.

Very disappointing! Was looking forward to a nice Fathers Day and my brothers birthday celebration, a celebration of my daughters homecoming after months in the hospital, and me surviving two eye oprations. Well, we had to wait for at least an hour for our food. Also, the website said there would be a PrixFixe menu and when we got there, the waiter said it was unavailable. We all had to order less food as it was too expensive to get appetizer entree and dessert! The Coq au Vin was bland and just looked dark and sinister. My daughters salmon was mediocre and although she was supposed to have rosemary potatoes, they had no flavoring at all. My fettuccine stuck together like glue and the Coq au vin sauce was watery and tasteless. They tried to make up for the slow service by giving one free wine and 2 free desserts that we would not have ordered anyway. It was $130 wasted. I'll stay home and cook next time. A nightmare!

This restaurant was a good choice for an early birthday celebration with friends. On a weekday afternoon for a late lunch, it was uncrowded, unlike its weekend brunch atmosphere. The menu offers lots of appealing choices, and ours turned out to fulfill our expectations. I'm glad there's such a pleasant place to eat in my neighborhood.
