    The beef, while a good size, was very hard to cut, even with the steak knife. My wife's Cosmopolitan had very little vodka.

    I've eaten here many times over the years- mostly pre-pandemic and the food was always consistently good. The chef was most likely out of town, there were no specials offered and the casseroles ordered were obviously pre-prepared. The seafood was over cooked and disappointing. I will return and hope for an improvement.

    We had a nice dinner last night at Cafe du Soleil. We sat in the outdoor “shed” which has fans and shade and feels protected from traffic. The service was prompt and professional. Our burgers were quite good, although both overcooked. I ordered mine rare and it was closer to medium with a little pink and my sister ordered medium and it was more well done. I usually ask to have the burger re-done to my specification but didn’t realized that it would cook more as I ate it. Next time, I will ask to do it over. That being said, the burger was tasty and the cheese well melted. The fries were excellent—true pommes frites. The starter of gazpacho was solid. Very nice neighborhood spot and I find myself going there regularly.

    Lively, noisy bistro. I had the coq au vin and my chicken was rubbery and difficult to cut. Also seemed like an odd cut of meat ... almost as if it were the back. Sauce and mashed potatoes were good, as were the vegetables. Sauvignon Blanc was fine, and the lemon cake was nice.

    Terrific. Best place in the neighborhood/UpperWest Side. Only issue is with the "energetic" noise level. Makes having a conversation a bit difficult. But it's great that it's so popular.

    We spent a delightful 4th of July evening at Cafe Du Soleil. We were seated outside at a roomy table for two. We had a couple of very well-made cocktails and the food was absolutely delightful - classic French with an updated twist. We enjoyed a lovely bottle of wine. If you are looking for a gem of a place to go where you can count on the food and service being great but also on being able to speak to each other, this would be an excellent choice on the Upper West Side.

    They offer an excellent Sunday French bistro dinner special. The service is quite good. But the music is played at an incredible volume for a French bistro. To the point where the server had to ask everyone to repeat their order, at the outside tables. I really don't understand why, it's the opposite of everything else at this very nice restaurant.

    We have excellent food every time we go to Cafe du Soleil, and the service is very good. The only caveat is the noise level, even in the street cafe. If you have no problem with that, I can definitely recommend this restaurant.

    Wait staff was a bit less than attentive. There were no condiments, except salt and pepper, offered and trying to get the attention of the wait staff was difficult. And it was not very crowded. Think we arrived near the turnover time for staff.

    We weren't in a hurry but true to other remarks, the service seemed inattentive. The waiter was chatty and friendly but not checking in and it took at least half an hour for our meal to arrive. That said the Modules Frites and Chocolate Mousse were delish and if we're not pressed for time we'll go back in the future.

    Food was mediocre service was pretty bad. After being served out appetizer and drinks we didn’t see our waiter for 26 minutes. I had to ask the host to find him. He never came back to see if everything was ok. Our appetizer was not good. Never asked if we wanted anything else to drink. After I asked her he host of our waiter had flown off to Siberia things got a little better but I would give this a c experience

    We were able to dine outside which was lovely. Our server was friendly and helpful and the food was delicious! The atmosphere is casual which lends itself to lingering and enjoying time with friends and family. I would recommend it and also look forward to going back.

    I was meeting a potential business associate for the first time and chose this spot, which is very handy if you are heading North or to New Jersey afterward. It's lively without being noisy - the food is delightful (and the portions quite generous). We had the prixe fixe meal which was very generous and included a bottle of wine. We took advantage of a lovely evening to eat outside, which was quite delightful. A real neighborhood gem with friendly staff and enough space not to feel cramped.

    Overpriced MEDIOCRE food. Cold fries, overcooked omelette and ratatouille out of a can. A Niçoise salad has green beans and tuna. Yours only has salmon. And $26? Insane. We won't be back.

    We ordered apps and 2 mains (mussels which about half the restaurant ordered them too) and a niçoise salad which seemed like a pretty basic item). The apps came out nice and quick but the mains took forever, we had to ask the server if they forgot about us. Two tables sat after we'd finished our apps and they had their mains served before our arrived. The cocktails and food were amazing, we'll come back, but maybe I'll order a burger instead of the niçoise salad this time.

    I booked Cafe Du Soleil for a dinner for our team at one of our rare offsites. It was delightful! Everyone found something to like on the menu, and they were very gracious about letting us share plates and so on. The table we were placed at fit us perfectly (there were 6 of us) and while it wasn't super-quiet, we didn't have any problems having a conversation, which is often a big issue in New York restaurants. A little gem on the Upper West Side!

    Delicious classy French restaurant. Great ambience and Menu. Loved the duck pate abd the simple burger cooked perfectly medium rare. Coq au vin was superbe!!! Mousse au chocolat delicieux!!! Can’t wait to go back!
