Cafe Divan, a stylish restaurant and takeout, has floors of Brazilian cherry and Turkish tile and glass windows that wrap around the dining room. Furniture is from Italy, as are the windows that bring to mind a child's stick figures.

Owner Cavit Ozturk, who has worked in restaurants for 25 years in Turkey, London, and the United States, and chef Yucel Atalay, who recently worked at Nizam's in Vienna, have developed a menu of Turkish cuisine that includes dishes not seen on other area menus - cerkez tavuk, chicken with walnut sauce; su boregi, a savory feta stuffed pastry; kofte made from lentils, cracked wheat and aromatic spices; and whole lamb cooked on the wood-fired rotisserie.

What a find! The food is so delicious, and the service is lovely. An added bonus is that because of the long, narrow design the noise level is relatively low and conversation is quite easy. We will be back soon and often!

Extremely disappointed with my recent visit. Service was very poor; i sat for a good 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged my presence. The waitress came over, poured water and walked away- without saying any word. I had to wave at her after another 10 minutes of waiting for her to return, so I could order. They didn’t bring us bread; I had to ask for it 4 different times! At one point, I had asked for it and she replied that the kitchen is working on it. Two seconds later, she walks over with a bread basket, but only to give it to the people that just sat down. I then had to ask ANOTHER TIME before she finally brought it. The food wasn’t anything special either. Will definitely not be returning!

Great location, especially for concerts at Dumbarton Oaks. Good service, good food. What's not to like? There were six of us, each ordering different kinds of food. From pidas to fish to pizza to salad, the food was yummy, well-prepared, and plentiful. The wait staff was helpful but not intrusive.

What a hidden gem! I have been to Turkey and I have looked for good Turkish food and this place has it all. The food, service ambiance, wine are outstanding. I may go there every week! Sooooo good!!

Terrible place- the food was not very tasty. The restaurant was filled with mosquitoes and the servers were also rude.

The food is average but very disappointed that the $26- piece of fish that we ordered (theoretically flown in from Turkey) was not deboned like the waiter said it was. It was a severe chocking hazard. I mentioned to the waiter three times that it was bot to my liking. I should have asked to speak to a manager. The waiter said it was his fault- then why was no adjustment made to my bill??
