Cafe des Artistes-on the Water Ratings and Reviews
Delightful evening for dinner overlooking the water. The evening at Cafe des Artistes was as fabulous as ever, even though it is now under new ownership. Owner Dimitri oversees all of the activity, same excellent wait staff, and same exciting menu. Our favorite is always outdoors, weather permitting. A true gem!
This was our first time at Cafe des Artistes. We were pleasantly surprised. It’s a small restaurant but with outdoor seating on the intercoastal waterway. Rather cozy seating inside but the service and cuisine was excellent. This restaurant also had a nice selection of wines. I had one of the beef specials and it was very good. My wife had the main menu duck and although it was not quite as crispy as at some restaurants she was happy with the taste and overall preparation.
I would recommend Cafe des Artiste if you are in the Jupiter area.
I've been eating here for many years and the food is always outstanding. We mostly dine outside for lunch, however recently had dinner. The Foie Gras was one of the best I can remember and the Mussels are unparalleled. Portions were quite large. Wine and beer selections are different, which is welcome. It can be pricey, but worth every single penny. Outside dining view is amazing as its situated at a marina.
Eating on the water is nice. The tables are small and close together. The food is always excellent. The service is never excellent. They only serve beer and wine.
You will be assured to get good food here. And that is well worth the small disadvantages to me.
Wonderful French eatery. Authentic, quality French cooking, but not "over-the-top". Everyday fabulous 'specials' on the chalk board. REAL, authentic Pommes Frittes (french fries) are THE BEST! Waterfront dining is peaceful and very atmospheric. This is an absolute must go to spot.
We usually enjoy our visits to this authentic France restaurant. We brought friends from GB on this occasion and were disappointed with some of the food. The grouper Provencial was ordinary with the grouper over cooked. The seafood napoleon was exquisite. However when we finished, our waiter was no where in sight. We waited and finally flagged down a busboy to clear the table. Then we waited for coffee & dessert request. And we waited some more. Our waiter never came back to the table. We finally decided to leave, went inside to get our bill. We waited again and finally got the bill and paid for it. We received an apology, which is appreciated, but it does not make up for the dismissive attitude.
They serve now breakfast, lunch and dinner, buying baguette and croissant every week. Plate of meats and cheeses with baguette was our appetizers , ducks was juicy and freshly baked. My friend had burrata salad specials. Was really friendly staff and customers . We enjoyed our food and relaxed time over there.
The place feels like vacation but same time in Paris ! Definitely romantic place and fresh made food.
Nice place and great ambience plus the service was excellent BUT the food was only fair. Foie gras appetizer looked like it came from a can and did not spread as it was hard and poor plating. Nothing special and the veal dish was tough and had zero taste (although the sauce had some). Fish medallions were good but way too small of a portion and overall too much salt. Dessert was very good! I doubt we will return except to have wine and dessert. Chef needs to really think about his/her cooking style and make some changes.
Disappointed . . . Great location, but lackluster food. Duck was dry and not much flavor, seared ahi tuna was terrible (could not finish and definitely didn't take home the leftovers), veal stew was not bad compared to the other two. Started out with high hopes, as the salad special was tasty. Spent over $200 plus tip for 3 people on 1 salad, 1 appetizer, 3 entrees and 3 drinks. There are many restaurant options in the area with exceptional food and service for the same price point or even less, including the Dive Bar next door. Tried it once, won't be back.
We love this neighborhood gem! The food is delicious and the new chef is excellent. The service is always warm and friendly without being intrusive. It truly feels as though you are dining in a Paris bistro. Although it is a bit pricey it is a lovely dining establishment. We are glad they are in our neighborhood and open again for the season. Wishing the new owner all the best!!
Celebrated a birthday at this great French Bistro. Terrific onion soup and Caesar salad for appetizers, very good duck but overlooked snapper almandine. Great desserts too - recommend the authentic delicious tarte tatin. Perfect ambiance sitting outside on the intracoastal with a light breeze and French music playing.
Ahhh - season is winding down but still great to have fantastic, low-stress french dinner on the water. I had the chicken this time and wife always has the mussels and fries - and is never disappointed. Add some nice white wine and it was a perfect evening (again). Servers are always lovely and no pressure. Stay and relax...wish they were open longer in the summer!
Classic French style restaurant, romantic outstanding view , chill out retro music, food is better and better. My fresh -grilled salmon was juicy and perfectly seasoned . Then we ordered mussels with white wine and French baguette. Sweet ending with chocolate cake then I was complete ;), my next try will be with meat ..
Food is perfectly cooked, service is great, no pressure by the end with your bill, take your time and relax! That's what I like.
