Experience the best of Amsterdam at Cafe de Jaren. This beautiful cafe offers some of the most scenic views of the River Amstel from the heart of the city. Cafe de Jaren is centrally located, between the Muntplein and the Amsterdam Music Theatre on Waterlooplein. The restaurant has two floors, including an indoor reading table and a canal-facing terrace for beautiful outdoor dining. Cafe de Jaren has its own jetty for easy entry by boat as well as foot.

Cafe de Jaren features an expansive menu, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as desserts, snacks and high teas. Food is incredibly fresh and bursting with flavor. The cafe offers late night dining. High teas are available for parties of 10 or more.

Wij hebben beneden moeten eten vanwege renovate van restaurant. Misschien meer geluid beneden? Eten was goed. Service with a smile.

Excellent service. Seated us as soon as we arrived with a beautiful view of the canal. Took our orders and food was excellent. Salmon and sweet potatoes with a bottle of white wine. Would definitely come back.

Great location and food. We were recommended the restaurant by a friend. Our server seemed vacant and didn’t explain the salad bar to us.

This place was terrible. I got big long Curly hair in my food, the waiter took it away without even saying anything and the manager came over and asked if I would like something else instead. Not very apologetic at all. I then got my food when my friends were finished theirs. Even then no one came to ask us if we needed another drink or if we’d like dessert. It was shocking. When I went to pay the bill they had full charged for the food and were again not apologetic about the inconvenience. I mentioned it the manager and he reacted rude and confused at me being upset about the experience. In the end he took 2 drinks off the bill. All the same I think this place is badly run and clueless when it comes to customer experience. Never again!

De gepofte zoete aardappels waren heel lekker. Mijn partner had vis maar vond mijn lekkerder.

Beautiful open space. Upstairs dining: Salad bar has wonderful selection of vegetables. Food was very good. Need reservations. Downstairs: Groups and couples talking, sharing, hanging out. Has late hours. Went back in the evening for tea/coffee & dessert.

We visited in evening for dinner which was enjoyable. Amsterdam has so many bistro/restaurants and Cafe de Jaren is well worth a visit

We hadden iets te vieren, dus tafel gereserveerd. Er was een borrel van 200 Zuidassers die zoveel lawaai maakten dat we zijn vertrokken na een klein hapje, De dames waren bijzonder vriendelijk en we kregen de prijs van een drankje terug. Ik ga dus niet meer reserveren omdat ik dit soort verrassingen niet nog een keer wil, jammer, want leuke tent en lekker eten, groet, Saskia
