Loves the service, cleanliness and flair. The food came quick and was very good. The only thing I would’ve liked is to get a booth as requested in the reservation but I wouldn’t take off much for that. I still think it was an outstanding brunch experience!

Cafe D’Alsace is the best restaurant north of 86th street on the upper east side. Great ambiance, spectacularly innovative food and friendly service. Just a first rate spot. Five star

We all really enjoyed the restaurant. It was a first time for me. The Restaurant Week menu was a great buy and there were excellent choices. The restaurant was full but the service was vey good. No one tried to hurry us along. We will be back.

the quality and quantity of the restaurant week menu was outstanding service could not have been better except that we learned that now one has to request bread and wait for a busboy if that term is still used - the waitress - oops, wrong term? - cannot bring it but they made up largely for the snafu by offering a free dessert A+++

Everything about Cafe D’Alsace is magical. The food is delicious. The staff are warm, helpful, and attentive. The space is gorgeous. Whenever I am there I feel like I have been transported to a stylish French bistro. They may be located on the UES, but everyone who works there has a down-to-earth ad friendly attitude.

Definitely improved from last location. Even more comfortable chairs. You do need to request bread though - apparently not just here these days. And it is good, so do "request"! Amazing wine and beer list and menu! These are not simple dishes/recipes. Slow cooked in some cases, and very delicious.

This was our first visit to Cafe d'Alsace in its new location and it won't be our last. As usual, the food was excellent. Lentil soup, skate, steak frites were all very good and the service was fine too. We went during Restaurant Week so the price was right too. Go and enjoy!

It was suitable for a birthday lunch. Good service and nice presentation of credible food. The one complaint was my Coq au vin was served in a ramekin. Now this is not a dish to serve coq au vin in because you can not see what is in the dish or cut the pieces of chicken and nicely load it onto your fork. In fact it is the most ridiculous choice of any plate. I was upset by the plating alone because it spoiled the pleasure of dining.

This is one of the few nicer brunch options on the Upper East side - it is overall solid but there are some issues. The welcome is always poor. Maitre D in a world of their own and didn't listen to what we asked for- they don't give eye contact, it's just weird. Three of them were often standing round the podium just chatting. Server was polite and attentive but not exactly friendly or seeming pleased to be there. The brunch options are well selected and the environment is quite smart. Sadly there are some quality issues- the salad that came with every plate was lifeless and bland for the $ charged. The omelette was overcooked and the eggs hollandaise was ok - sauce a little thin. The desserts are the best here and we have often been just for those.

My husband and I had a wonderful date night here on a Friday evening. Our table was ready when we arrived. The staff was attentive and friendly. The food from cocktails, to apps, to entrees, to dessert was fantastic. We tried the French onion soup, goat cheese, truffle, and mushroom gnocchi, and the mussels and fries. The Tahitian vanilla bean creme brulee is a must try!

The service was very poor. Had to ask for the wine list 3 times. No one working there knew anything about the sparkling wines. Had to ask for fresh pepper when the appetizers came and again when the entrees came. Had to ask for bread when the appetizers came and again when we ran out. Ordered an expensive pasta dish with fresh truffles but they didn’t grate the truffles at the table. No way to know if dish was made with fresh truffles or truffle oil. Too many microwaved dishes with very hot plates and lukewarm food. For the prices they charged service and food should have been better.

New Year’s Day dinner. The service was relaxed and warm. Food was quite good - although prices have become ridiculous - $19 for a winter salad - really?!? Arugula, some thin slices of pear and parmesan for nearly $20? Come on!! Café D’Alsace used to be a great value - now it’s no different than any other overpriced UES restaurant.

This was my first visit to Cafe' d'Alsace, though I had heard many rave reviews from friends living in its neighborhood. It did not disappoint with delicious food and the most delightful service, we were so well taken care of but never rushed! It is definitely worth the 25 block trek from our home to this destination!
