Food preparation was outstanding. Great flavors, super portions and superb experience. Exceeded expectations.
Cafe D'Alsace has reliably delicious food. We sat outside and felt safe dining out.
Our get together with friends after a long time at Cafe d’Alsace was wonderful. Our outside table was airy ,comfortable and made conversation easy. Our server was charming and professional. He anticipated every need and made sure we had everything we wanted without being obtrusive. The food was terrific ;fresh and delicious.
Cafe d’Alsace is one of our favorites and it never disappoints.
Great food and delicious wine. We had a wonderful lunch.
Beautiful ambiance, but the burger was dry and well-cooked and the service lackluster
Exceptional staples. I stay with the chicken club which is very generous portion and an elevated classic! Burger is also awesome. Best neighborhood standby.
Stopped in for a spontaneous lunch. Patrick suggested the salmon, which was wonderful! He was charming! Thank you!
Made a res for Sat at 7:15, outdoors, going after watching Belmont Stakes.
Post time changed so called Thursday to change res to 7:30, wasn't available on line, and to request 88th st dining rather than on 2nd ave. Woman on phone helpful and changes noted.
Arrived at 7:30, table waiting where we requested. Ordered bottle of Alsace Red wine and both ordered the roast chicken. Perfect plate! Service very nice and not rushed at end of meal.
Good great excellent
Outdoor dining on the sife street is extra special
It was a welcome change to be out in NY having dinner again. Wine list was great and I had the duck special that was very good and my wife had the steak which she said was good.
Kind of meh. “Heirloom” tomato salad $18 was a joke. The tomatoes were nothing close to heirloom. Mussels were way over cooked. $24 burger was mediocre. Fries were fabulous. Service perfunctory despite mentioning a celebration in the reservation. The o TT door seating is terrific and they do allow lots of time for your dinner reservation. Lunch earlier in the week was far better.
Neighborhood gem with stellar menu & service. Great every single time.
Cafe D'Alsace had excellent food and service, as always! :)
Always good food and a nice environment. Service was a little slow outside.
Some things have not returned since reopening after Covid - the yummy gougeres are no longer being made and there isn't any spaetzle! Both are sorely missed, so I hope they will return. Loved our waiter, friendly but not intrusive, food was delicious as always, home- made sausage with excellent sauerkraut and fresh mussels were terrific. The house bread was delicious, even if we missed the gougeres!
We will be back for sure; excellent restaurant. We requested outdoor dining, but Second Ave vehicular traffic noise is deafening
Always a lovely experience, delicious food and wonderful service. Consistently great for years.
A favorite neighborhood restaurant. Nice set up to handle Covid-19 dinning.
5-star from start to finish. Will definitely be returning.
NIce outdoor protected area for dining. Great steak frites with a marrow bone. Waiters scurrying to and fro. What fun to be back.
We have been to your restaurant many times and always enjoy it. We had a lovely dinner again and will certainly come again soon.
Moule frites were decent. Gnocchi was very mushy. Lychee Bellini was good. Service was great, servers seemed to be having fun/enjoy their job
Always a good experience. They didn’t have the Pinot Blanc wine - strange for a place with regional cuisine. Beers always very good. Food lovely. Justin is the best waiter!
Always a treat. Love the Steak Frites. Was also very happy with the delicious martini. Kudos to the bartender!
We met for a light, late lunch. We choice to sit at a outdoor table fore reasons if weather, and pandemic, hence the 4 stars for house instead of 5. Not their fault but 2nd Avenue is busy thoroughfare.the service and the food was very good and we certainly will be back.
We've been regulars at Cafe d'Alsace for many years, and it's always a great experience.
The food was delicious and the service was attentive. Except for the greeter not being able to find our reservation at first, it was an excellent experience.
Cafe d’Alsace have created a comfortable and safe outdoor seating area. The wait staff are all charming and respectful. Food is amazing and the wine excellent.
Consistently excellent food, very good service, our favorite in the neighborhood
Fantastic food and service that was above and beyond. The outdoor dining ambience is great.
Everything was wonderful. Thank you!
The food was very good, though the vinaigrette was too strong in the grilled octopus app and too many chopped onions in the salad. The chocolate hazelnut torte was extraordinarily delicious. The biggest problem was that two tables away from us was filled with many obnoxious loud children with one or two adults who didn't care how much noise and disturbance the kids produced. Management was well aware of the issue, but seemed not to do anything about it, though we did receive a discount from management on the check.
We go here regularly. Food is creative and delicious and service is wonderful. So happy to hit it on a night when the grilled sea bass with avocado was back as a special. That is a five star entree. Please change the sauce on the moules dish back to what it originally was. New red sauce is not even close to being as good as the former sauce was. The chocolate hazelnut dessert was fantastic. Hope to see that back again soon too! This restaurant has done everything right for their workers and guests to ensure a safe place to dine. Thank you Alsace! We will be back very soon.
We were outdoors. Great food, great wine, excellent service.
The only reason to dine at D'Alsace is the outdoor, as their post-COVID food is less than mediocre and it is unreasonably expansive. But even the outdoor experience is no longer fun. Be ware they will ask you to leave within 2 hrs (without an a-priori verbal warning when you are sited). D'Alsace time had passed as a good and pleasant outdoor experience. Adieu!
The food was absolutely delicious, even better than I remember. I guess the chef is happy to cook again or/and I am happy to be back eating at restaurant.
Excellent food and wine. Souffle crepes are amazing!
Comfortable, although outdoors. Food excellent as usual. Service on the slow side.
Excellent, consistent cooking from a chef who has been at this restaurant for many, many years and it shows. Solid Alsatian fare...I believe the only restaurant of its kind in NYC. Don't miss it!
